spaceace12 Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Let me start off by saying this is my first vacation in 14 years. This TR is about a month later, I was gone March 6th through 14th. I had some money from tax return and since Florida has year round parks and Indiana doesn't. I decided I would go to florida. I got some advice: Don't ever drive down straight through from Indiana, it sucks and I only made it from 6pm till 2:30am. We stopped on the way home On to the pictures: Day 1: Driving, not many pictures, while on a restroom break, took some pics that said I was finally in a warm climate instead of the cold Indiana Winter Palm trees!!!! Next up, Cypress Gardens minus Starliner pics I had already posted.
spaceace12 Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 Day 2: Cypress Gardens, Coasters! This is me! I got a question and comment about Tripple Hurricane. Is the bar that is dropped on the train of the coaster called "buzz bars" They need a brake before the final turn, that is the craziest turn the first time I rode it. The ending tripple had some nice air time. Next up, Cypress Garden's Gardens.
spaceace12 Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 Cypress Gardens: Animals and Gardens Is there a Indiana University Fan at CP? Some odds and ends: Wait, I thought I was at Cypress Gardens, not Holiday World I guess I am at Cypress Gardens and not Holiday World, look at those Drink Prices and only one working ATM in the park! Next Cypress Gardens Rides!
Loco Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Is Cypress Garden's any good? I really don't know much about the park. Edit: I just saw the second part of your Photo TR, and wow, it seems like such a nice park! Nice TR!
spaceace12 Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 Cypress Gardens Rides I did this and I thought it was a cool ride Leaning tower of Cypress Gardens or bad framing? New Attraction, I think someone said it might be a upcharge. This is a cool looking Carousel Next up, Busch Gardens, I will try to get BG done today, but might do it at home and use flock to do mass uploading!
spaceace12 Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 Cp is a nice park, but it isn't a all day park, I was there and it was very very light crowds. Coasters are all small in comparison the park that is in Tampa Bay.
spaceace12 Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 Busch Gardens: Coasters. I got to Busch Gardens at around 11am because I had to attend a sales pitch so my family could stayin in Orlando for cheap so I didn't get to spend much time at Busch. Onto the Pictures: Montu: Scorpion: (sadly I somehow missed this credit and will have to return to get it) Finally, some good coaster porn! Kumba: Qwazi: Odds and ends: I rode the train and had the most annoying person doing the talking, her name is Brandy and avoid her at all costs!
spaceace12 Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 Busch Gardens, Animals And of course Up Next, Disney!
spaceace12 Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 Animal Kingdom: Not many photos because I had 3 main coasters to hit and not much time for photos. Neat lookign furry guy: Next up, Disney's Magic Kingdom.
the sound Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 You had some really awesome Animal shots at Busch Gardens! Also Kumba looked very cool.
coasterdude5 Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Great TR, I had "Brandy" on the train, too, and uh, I was about to try to jump off the train. Great pictures.
spaceace12 Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 Magic Kingdom Big Thunder Mountain: Was in que and overhead they said the ride was down. Then I heard the famous last words of a bad thing "animation off, work lights on" Castle Pics
spaceace12 Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 Finally, Nakamis Beach: Water was okay, 69 degrees, once you got used to it, it was okay A sand sculpter someone else did. Finally, my ride I rented while on Vacation. It was full on the way there and back. Thank you for visisting my Trip report full of photos. Please exit the park following the sign! For the Alvey's request
RCTfan Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Your camera is amazing. Those animal shots from Busch Gardens looks so sharp and clear! Fantastic photos! Looks like you had a nice whirlwind of the FL parks. I thought Cypress Gardens wasn't too bad. There wasn't much to keep my attention but I really did enjoy all their gardens. I went during a hot day and found myself a bench in the middle of the gardens by the lake and enjoyed the breeze and just cooled down while enjoying nature. I absolutely loved it!
spaceace12 Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 I spent 1200 on my camera when I bought it. The local newspaper uses the same camera that I have for some things, I have a nikon d70s. I still need to learn about all the controls, I have yet to master full manual mode. Most of those animal shots where from the train with a full 300 mm zoom. Actaully with digital magnification, it is 450mm.
spaceace12 Posted April 14, 2007 Author Posted April 14, 2007 Cypress Gardens: Descent selection of attractions, Gardens are nice looking, I missed the ski show. 1/2 day on normal days, just guessing, 1/4 on light days for really enjoying parks Busch Gardens: Animals everywhere, sorta cool. Gwazi, nice wood coaster. Montu, my first real suspended coaster, I probably could have enjoyed it more, but I got sorta of sick to my stomach and didn't really enjoy it. Kumba, again, got sorta sick to my stomach. Sheikra, wow, this was a awesome coaster. 3/4 to full day to really enjoy the park on days like I went. Disney: Everest was cool, RnR was even better, Space Mountain was okay, restraint made my leg get a cramp halfway through and hurt until I made it through the end of the exit. 1 day min. in each indivual park to really enjoy it. Overall, I plan to try to get back to florida to get the coasters I missed and to enjoy the beach some more. My next vacation will be to either Texas or California for coasters, not counting Vegas in July.
307 Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 The pictures look great, but they're very hard to see at such a small size. I think it's funny that the only big picture you had was of your rental car
spaceace12 Posted April 14, 2007 Author Posted April 14, 2007 I had to reduce the size of the pictures due to some bandwidth issues on another site.
