asr
See Page 8 for latest updates and download. I am starting my new park, it will include all of the improvements you wanted for Pinewoods Lake, including better teraforming, better pathways, and more ride-path interaction. It will also be a much larger park then my first, I'm hoping for ten or so coasters. But I need your advice. The premise of the park is that it is a major amusment park 10-15 miles outside of Omaha, Nebraska, and for this I'm trying to get a good terrain texture that fits the great plains setting. My idea was to use the mud terrain, then have every other sqaure be smooth sand. This is how it turned out; So, I want your opinions on if this looks good and accurate for the setting. LOVE SFKK
Actually Omaha is more or a grassy plain texture. Heres some pics of our farm , and it looks just like Omaha would Also if its really close to the city add a lot of trees, but if its a ways out of the city don't put very many at all one of my fav. photos (notice grass)
chmilo24
I have never been to Omaha and so i'm not shure what the ground is but your original dirt looks like its in the desert. I would suggest a more grassy ground.
thrillrideseeker
^ I agree. Go with atleast some grass in your park! Other than that I think it looks ok? Keep up the good work! ~Matthew
asr
I started on the park yesterday, but ended up not making much progress. I have the basic terrain of the park, with a hill in one corner, and a central lake, but for the most part flat. I ended up going with plain grass for most of the park, with mud around the lake (I was going to use sand, but didn't think it fit, looked too tropical). However, I don't want grass everywhere, and I was thinking of using rough grass as a diferent thing, but want your opinion. Two different terrain textures, the lightened one uses light sand placed on every other sqaure for a lighter appearence. I also started work on a coaster, but the scenary around it and the themed area it will be in are only in very early stages, so all you get are teaser shots. New coaster, notice the train tracks as scenary. Onride view, looking over the drop towards the immelmann.
thrillrideseeker
Good Luck! Usually Launch coasters like that are not easy to make a very good layout with. There is so little to work with. The way the inversions are able to be placed makes it twice as difficult. But good luck! It looks great! ~Matthew
asr
Today I did a bunch of work, starting the Retro area. It is not themed to a specific era, but taking influence from 1950s archetecture, Rock N' Roll music, and 1920s/1930s passenger trains and Art Deco archetecture. You will also finally get to fully see the new coaster. The view driving into the parking lot, a coaster is visible to the right. The retro area, two coasters visible. The un-develped portions of the park. Aeriel view of the retro area of the park. The back half of the area. Aeriel view of the Screamliner coaster. The front half of Screamliner. And the back half. Steffen_Dk
Wow. Screamliner looks cool, and if you use costume supports, it would look even better.
asr
I've been working on the park for the first time in a few days, and I now have something to show you, with first shots of a new coaster! The park's main street and entrance plaza. I'm only very early in construction of the new themed area, Hawaiian Harbor, here is the small boardwalk area, a restaruant will go here eventually. VeCOMA! Aeriel view of the Vekoma ride. It is named "Great White" and is the main attraction in Hawaiian Harbor. Overview of the park so far, featuring early plans for future construction. Also, I am thinking that the Vekoma ride will go, becuase it sorta ruins the lake, but I want you're opinion. I will provide more screenshots if you need them to fully make you're decision. Steffen_Dk
Looks good. I can't wait to see the new area!!!
Six Flags
I would suggested putting SteelWorx supports on your roller coasters, and maybe a little more work into your buildings. The themes and areas sound good and the layout of the park is nice!!
texashorns82492
You need to add more scenery other than just flowers.
asr
I got back to work on the park today, and finally made enough progress to warrant an update. I gave the retro area a much needed sprucing-up and other then that... Added some fencing. The finished restaruant , home of the Pineapple and Jalepeno Pepper Pizza. It's named "Hawaiian Harbor Bar and Grill". A nice shot of Great White. Just what is that in the background? The wooden coaster, a 1970s era Out and Back coaster named Flyin' Eagle is only just about 100 feet tall, but it towers over the entrance plaza. The new ladder game. The park is still 100% non-custom scenary. The back half of the retro area, updated and looking ready for opening day 2007! The front half of the retro area has transformed from bland and grey to a whirlwind of colors. Thats it for now!
chmilo24
That is pretty cool, it is very colorful and I think your doing a great job on that.
asr
I've been sick for the past week, so I haven't been very motivated, but in the past day or two, I have been feeling slightly better, and I got around to working on the park again. Just some minor updates so far, just things like... Screamliner getting custom supports! New supports on the drop and immelmann. New supports on the entire ride. Flyin' Eagle's newly built station building. The Retro area's entrance through the eyes of a peep. Soon, this area will be getting a slight make-over with custom scenary, such as themed custom lighting.
thrillrideseeker
WoW! Great White looks great! This is turning out to be a great park! Keep up the amazing work! I can not wait to see more! IMO I think you should add more flat rides... but thats just my opinion. Great job! Keep up the good work! ~Matthew
chmilo24
Wow, good job on the supports, how long did it take to finish them. Also, I think you should add a B&M Sitting Coaster, something really fun to bring the peeps.
asr
Wow, good job on the supports, how long did it take to finish them. Also, I think you should add a B&M Sitting Coaster, something really fun to bring the peeps. I didn't really count, but it took atleast an hour or two. Also, a B&M floorless or sit down is in planning, and so is more flat rides. Also, later today, look forward to a full POV video of Screamliner! Steffen_Dk
Yeah. It looks much better now with the comstum supports. Can't wait to see the POV
asr
Here is the POV, I originally planned to have it later today, but Windows Movie Maker took alot shorter then I expected to process it, so here it is now. The song is "His World" by Zebrahead, available on the CD "Sonic the Hedgehog Vocal Traxx: Several Wills", which unfortunatly is only available as a japanese import, so it is pretty expensive. Sorry for the low qaulity, I wanted a much better quality video, but it was huge (over 40 megs) so I slimmed it down to just 10 to speed up the uploading, but if you really want the better version, I will consider uploading it. Also, I am sorry for the unrealistic second launch, it was the only way I could get it work, I tried using a second station before the second launch and the launch section pieces, but that didn't work with peeps, so I had to change it. Anyway, enjoy! Screamliner Full Video (Release Version).wmv WARNING: The song contains a minor profanity near the beginning
chmilo24
That ride looks better with a video. From the off-ride footage it looked kind of slow, but the POV makes look really fast. I love that second launch. The ride also really looks scary and fun at night.
asr
Over the past few days, I have been working on a brand new themed area for you, and I'm now almost done with it, including the planned floorless coaster that you heard about a week or two ago. Welcome to Action City! Home of the biggest and best flat rides in the park, like this Huss Giant Frisbee "Stinger"... And this Huss Jump2, Fear Factor. As well as the fierce B&M floorless, X Rail. Which is themed to a rapid transit train... ...Gone horribly wrong. A bit cheesy and cliche, I know, but it makes up for it in ride expierence. The first half, showing off 4 inversions (Loop, Cobra Roll, and Inverting Horseshoe Turn) as the green train* flys through the loop. The red train* snakes through the last two inversions, a set of interlocking corkscrews. The finale consists of tight turns and powerfull bunny hops. The blue train* negotiates the final bunny hill. * = I don't really have godlike powers or use an RCT3 hacking program, I just changed the train's colors for different shots (Sorry if the small text annoyed anyone).
