robbalvey Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 ^ Do a search on "watermark" to find my watermark rant and then decide if you still want to do that. --Robb "Really thinks watermarks RUIN a video..." Alvey
jj17 Posted March 28, 2007 Author Posted March 28, 2007 even tho its only a text watermark and not a image watermark ?. Also it may ruin your video but it helps people stop nicking your video and promotes your websites dont it ? and also i have already searched on google for these

A text watermark makes the video look like crap.
nathanhillinbl Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 ^^^^^ I agree, and think a title at the end looks more professional. Yes, someone could edit it out if they really wanted to, but i think the text watermark takes away from the video itself.
robbalvey Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Also it may ruin your video but it helps people stop nicking your video and promotes your websites dont it ? No, not at all. I have seen video stolen where the either crop the watermark out or just leave it in without caring. And really, if your videos are good enough, and well known enough, people will come to the original source. Watermarking makes videos look cheap and amatuer, IMO. I would *NEVER* watermark one of our videos, and you don't see us fussing over a video or two popping up on YouTube every so often. --Robb
