Movieguy
I'd like to be able to make a good dark ride, enclose it in walls and line up the theming just right. My problem is, I seem to have very poor height and distance perception with this game...I'll try to place a single roof piece, and it will turn out to either be lower or higher than I originally wanted for some reason...same goes for walls a lot of the time. It's especially problematic when I try to place custom pitch black objects for roofs or walls...at some point I have no clue where to put the next piece. Is there anyone, or any place out there that could help me gain a basic understanding of how to enclose rides in this game?
CoasterNut17
It is still pretty hard, no matter what way you look at it. You basically have to feel around for where it is, or you can also start the roof from one side and do it row by row until you get to the other side. Once you get to the last row, you may have to take the wall off to know where to place the roof. It may also be that you have to periodicaly switch the angle you are looking at it from. With the not knowing where to place the roof(higher or lower)you can put a ton of roof pieces on top of each other, starting at the ground, and then once you have the desired height on one of them, delete the rest, and continue with what is written above, lining up all the pieces. Gosh, I hate how they have to do this to you in RCT3! Any other questions just post, and sorry if any of these suggestions don't work for you, they are just past expiriences of mine that happened to work. Also, some things (paths, rides, etc.) will only let you place another object a certain height above the track (a minimum height to allow clearence), which would mean that you would have to make all of your walls higher. DarkMeasures
Change the camera mode. Freeklook is exceptional for building things. Especially since you can place the camera anywhere.
sfmmFREAK
I've never had problems with that.
