Hi,

I'm planning on visiting Phantasialand in mid-August this year, but have one or two questions:

1. I'm flying into Cologne-Bonn airport from the UK - I've heard that Phantasialand will provide transport from the airport to the park - is this true? If so, is it a simple case of phoning up/emailing and requesting the transport? Is it available any time of day, and does anyone know the cost? If none of that's correct, what's the best, cheapest and quickest way of getting to/from the park (using public transport)?

2. Would there be any of the German fairs near Phantasialand around mid-August? I need to know, as I want to avoid them! (The park would be busier and hotel rates are increased).

Thanks for any help,

Alex

Public transport will be all right. I don't think you have to pre-book it. Isn't there a time-table on Phantasialand's site?

Mid-august is during the holidays (for the dutch, but i believe also for the germans, corect me if i'm wrong!), so I think it will be busy and the hotels will use their "high-season" rate. I don't know about the fairs around...

Have fun! It's a great park!

I personally went to Phantasialand this past summer and got there by car. I didn't see really any close train stops in the area. They have a Bus stop there I think.

Ride Black Mamba it's killer. I had to wait an 1 hour and a half, but damn it's worth it, just for the theming even.

In North Rhine Westfalia, where Phantasialand is located, the Summer break ends on the 3rd of August. And, except for Oktober Fest and Rheinwiesen in Düsseldorf none of the Fairs attracts people that actualy stay a night or two. So fairs shouldnt be a big deal either for you.

But, the rates will be pretty high in August, as Menghini said, the Dutch are off and some other states in germany will also still be on holiday

From Koln Phantasialand will run a taxi service to pick you up at the main train station, but it will cost you I believe either 20 or 30 Euros. They also offer free shuttle service if you take the train to the Bruhl station, which is only like a 10 minute ride from Koln. All this is assuming you're staying at the Hotel Phantasia. Reservations are asked to be made like 2 weeks before arriving, though more information is available once you reserve a room at the hotel.

If you are just going to visit the park, the Bruhl station also has a bus that will take you to the main entrance of the park.
