ginzo Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Ok, this is my first TR posted here, and my first time to attend the Festival of Lights. This is one of the few outdoor events in this area at this time of the year. PKI dumped Winterfest long ago. The night didn't go that well. The tram broke down 5 minutes after we got on it, and my camera ran out of batteries shortly after it got dark. I didn't even get any non-blurry pictures of the Carousel. Anyway, here goes: These special effects aren't very special. Watch out for that tree! You won't marry me on Colossus. Pretty kitty takes a nap. The other red ass monkeys decide to take a peek. Hey, get a room you two! Phantasialand might have the #1 steel coaster. But, can they compete with this? We've come for your daughter, Chuck. I'm tired of these !@#!@! snakes on this !@#!@#! plane. This poor little guy is hungry because some ACErs ate all his food. Let's get down to brass tax here. How much for the apes? You really don't want to know where those gloves have been. Poor Babar is stuck in this low rent gig. Some day this will all be yours. Yes, we have electricity in Ohio. Indoor plumbing coming in 2008! A concrete gorilla holds the real baby surri.
Satoshi Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 ^ these effects are not so special? it looks special for me at least! thanks for your Zoo TR!
ginzo Posted December 24, 2006 Author Posted December 24, 2006 ^ these effects are not so special? it looks special for me at least! thanks for your Zoo TR! That light show looked 20 years out of date. I think it was mainly for kids. It was just a bunch of Christmas trees with strands of different colored lights. Sections of the tree would change color as they played music. I wish my camera batteries didn't die so early. I didn't get to photograph much of the light displays. We wound up leaving early last night due to the cold, and a few other reasons. We hoped to get a quick view of all the lights on the tram, but it broke down. FYI: Unlike our local amusement park, Cincy's Zoo is world class. Sure it's not quite on par with the San Diego Zoo, but nothing is. I don't go there much, because I'm not keen on keeping giant wild animals on display in cramped little habitats.
jamesdillaman Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 ^ Hey!! Julia and I went Friday night. Did you catch the ice sculptures? I agree that the "Wild Lights Show" was more like "what your weird uncle would do for christmas if his wife would let him show". I was shocked that the lights were only on the trees, and all the "choreography" was exactly the same. We didn't do the carousel this time, as we've been on it earlier in the year. All in all, we weren't impressed. If you want a good holiday fest, go to the Beach waterpark. That's loads of fun. We went, and I'll post a photo TR as soon as I can get the pictures off of Julia's camera . See ya soon, Joe, on our big credit-whoring trip to the mall! -James Dillaman
