brilinjo Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Taking family for the last 3 weeks in April 2007, have picked this time as it co-incides with school holidays here in South Australia and anticipating that weather is OK in CA. Looking to do all theme & water parks, how busy are parks at that time of year? Are they all open? Will probably visit parks during week days and spend weekends chilling or visiting other touristy attractions. Visited DL, DCA & USH back in 2002 and had a great time, so trying to re-live that happy feeling before school gets too serious and kids discover the opposite sex and forget about their parents. First post, so hope have conformed to all rules and expectations! Brian
Sir Clinksalot Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 First off, the SoCal waterparks won't be open until May. So you will miss out on those. April also is the time of Spring Break here in America. This gives you longer hours at most parks (and weekday's at SFMM) but unfortunately higher crowds. Still, during the week is still your best bet, so good planning there. As the time get's closer and parks reveal their operating hours it will be better to gauge which weeks they are expecting the most crowds. My guess is the last week in April will be your best bet as most spring breaks are over by then. Try to avoid the week before and after Easter if you can. Still, with the SoCal parks, the only park you may need more than one day at is Disneyland/DCA. Hope that helped.
the_rock401 Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 By the time you get to the third week in April, spring breaks are, for all intents and purposes, over.
socalMAN123 Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 This year's April wasn't that bad, I think I went to DLR a couple of times and it was pretty empty. Like 30 minute waits for Space Mountain. It also depends which 3 weeks you are going. If you want to do everything Socal has to offer, I suggest moving the trip back to May and after Labor Day weekend, just so you can go to the waterparks and the parks won't be as crowded. ---Brent P.S. I went opening day of Soak City this year, and the park was EMPTY
