Thinking about a sneaky trip to HK and was wondering how much the public transport is etc, you know food, snacks and dress up. Just a rough idea please.

Hong Kong is actually not very expensive.

 

Transportation is very clean, efficient, and inexpensive.

 

You can get around Central using the MTR (trains), buses, or trolleys for just a couple dollars US. You can spend just a couple more dollars US to use a taxi to get around in Central.

 

From the Airport to Central on the MTR Airport Express Train is about $12 US or you can take a taxi for about $45 US.

 

From Central to Hong Kong Disneyland by MTR is about $10 US or you can take a taxi for about $35 US.

 

As for food...it all depends on what you want to eat. If you are okay with McDonald's, it is actually cheaper and more readily available in Hong Kong than in the US. But, you really don't want to miss out on some amazing and very inexpensive food.

 

There are some GREAT restaurants/bars in Lan Kwai Fong (which is very close to Central). This is one place you really don't want to miss for some night-life.
