Ed Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 We don't have Labour Day over the pond (it's a big pond btw, some people have started to call it an ocean! i call them heathens!) but it seemed like a little holiday this weekend for me anyway. So I had a rather spur of the moment trip to camelot on Saturday with my friends Lucy & Rob (One b). I would've taken LOTS of pictures but... It was wet... Ok so we knew it would be raining ALL day, but we under-estimated how crap British weather can actually be. On the weather reports we were right under a ban of 'yellow' rain. Which is basically extremely heavy. We had an extremely fun day no matter the weather and riding spinning rides in the is strange because one second it Really hurts, and the next you're sheltered. Erm the Pinfari of death left me with bruises... And can anyone explain the back car of them? The seats are literally ON THE FLOOR. I mean wtf? Your legs just got out infront of you! Going down the drop you get thrown into the restraint and slammed down with all the forces going through your ass onto the not so comfy seat... We also saw a car going up the lifthill with a restraint open! The kid sitting next to it must've been terrified hahaha. The "petrol powered"-powered coaster was interesting... There's one corner which seems to avoid a tree. Thankfully! Oh and the kiddie coaster got stuck at the very beginning of the day. such a fun sight seeing 5 or-so kids getting drenched on an Apple ride. We also we on Excalibur2. The ride of DOOM. Which just isn't a fun ride! We also decided because we were so wet water rides couldn't hurt us so went on the Dingy slides and the Log Flume. Which actually threw a big wall of water into my face. Ooo and we went to this indoors and DRY place. Where I risked electricution by going on a DDR machine and Lucy & Rob risked electricution on Sega Rally. Then we all nearly died together on the dodgems. Should they allow these rides to be running when people are clearly soaking wet and electricity is passing through the cars? After that we saw some ducks SWIMMING in a puddle. It was that deep. Camelot is quite hilly see, so we were quite often walking through RIVERS that were running all around the park. We spotted a carousel that had some of those spinny cars like teacup things.. .Anywho halfway through the ride the "SAFETY" gate flew open and smashed with great speed into one of the horses! It made a well loud noise and we all collectively shat ourselves and grinded the spinny-ride of d00m to a halt. The horse was missing quite a substantial chunk from it's derriere. Erm. Not sure what we did after that. Btw non of these events are in the correct order cause we did a couple of coasters in between these flat rides and things. We eventually went home.... All of us soaked through to the bone and fricking cold, mr bigglesworth was cold too! We got lost driving home, well Rob did, me and Lucy sat forwards (leaning back was too icky) and laughed. On a lighter note we went through a town called Wigan. And glancing out of my window we went past a SEX SHOP. Yes on a main road with houses all around it! The HUGE sign above the shop read "Erotica XXX" and then some collection of words which I missed, I did see the word "TOYS" though... I'll post a photo trip report from that shop later tonight. ** So yeh. Here are a couple of photos that Rob took: Electrocuting Dodgems of D00M L00cy makes it down in her kittie raincoat My jeans should NOT be that colour, they're meant to be grey/white around that area.. Ouchness. Both these rides suck Can anyone photoshop that into something funny? "Woooo....." Shortly after this photo was taken those two people died. As you can see they are well and truely dead. I mean no living person ever puts their hands up on a Pinfari! Rob thought this looked quite phallic. I'm not sure what that means. But it does look like a penis in a bun to me * We found this rather sad lonely and pathetic dragon behind some gates. So I decided to slay it with my umbrella (which didn't help me AT ALL during the day on account of the gales) That's all folks! Robs photos can be found at their original source \/ \/ http://www.coasterforce.com/cf-info/viewtopic.php?p=231910#231910 * I do know what phallic means. If you don't I suggest you google it! ** If anyone was getting slightly aroused at the thought of me posting sex-shop photos go take a cold shower. They are for mine and Lou's eyes only. (I'm pretty sure she owns that shop) - I had a very fun day - Camelot is a wierd park - Did i mention it was raining? - I tried a Rollover hotdog. It was revolting. I ended up only eating half of the ketchup soaked bread. And on the sunday I went to Blackpool. I haven't started to resize the photos yet so i'll leave that for tommorow.
robbalvey Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Sounds like you had just as good of a time as we did at Disney!
Shockwave Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 You certainly had a better time than I did that day! Did you watch the knights show when you were there?
Ed Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 No we didn't bother. They looked a bit wet tbh. And as you well know i'm allergic to horses. (how random) so I stay as far away from them as I can. Plastic Steeplechase horses are as close as I can ever come to the real thing I'm halfway through my Blackpool Photos so I should have them up soon! I'm just lazy and can't be arsed to resize.

Steeplechase is better than the real thing and you know it!
