brina139 Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 My son is 6 1/2 years old and just started the first grade. He is small for his age, just 42lbs, and has just now hit the 48" milestone to ride a real rollercoaster. So this Saturday, we are taking him to Dollywood to ride the Thunderhead Wooden Coaster. The Tennessee Tornado is a great one, but he again is so little, the restraints I feel, will be not good enough for his tiny frame. So all the waiting he has done while watching his sisters ride coasters, will end this weekend. He is like me and loves the rush you get when in line for a coaster. I think he will love it. I will let you all know what his reaction was, and a photo if I can of the look on his face as we speed past the cameras. Now this is just his first official Coaster ride. He has been on kiddie coasters and rides he could measure to, but this is a big moment. And if he fairs well, we will surely make sure he travels with us to parks where he can get right on and enjoy the ride. Looks like no more sitters For him!
CoasterFanatic Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Good luck! // none of them count till they get on their first wood coaster
65skylark Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 My son rode Tremors when he was five (almost six) and he loved it. Still his favorite coaster. Good luck.
Chaddyboy Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 ^^ my first 5 coasters were wooden. I hope your son really enjoys his first major roller coaster as much as I enjoyed mine. I hope he will turn into a true fanatic.
the sound Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I can still remeber my first coaster. Over the shoulder Galaxi. Whoring at its greatest!
