West Coast Bash 2015!

Not a frequent poster here, but in need of WCB advice from all of you. It looks like an amazing event, and I'm super pumped. I only have tickets for the SFMM day for me and a friend, however, he just came upon a family emergency and will be busy that morning. He's trying to transfer or sell his ticket to one of my friends, but that isn't working out, so either I will go in the morning solo and meet up with him after lunch, or both go out after lunch and miss the spectacular morning ERT, as well as breakfast and lunch. My last WCB was probably 2011 or so, so I'd like to ask some of you more experienced WCBers (WCBers?) about what the best choice would be. I'd rather not go solo all morning, or pay the gas money and parking to drive up alone (I'm in Anaheim) so I'm looking at other options, such as making friends who may want to carpool/ hang out. And I figured everyone is pretty cool around here, so no harm in asking. Thanks in advance! -
Good call on the weekend operation! Being in Socal I frequently forget the strange phenomenon called weather and that it happens all over the rest of the country. We'll probably end up shoehorning theme parks in on weekends, and then doing other things on weekdays. I'm leaning toward CF, since the only SF park I really want to see is GAm (Been to GAdv, although El Toro was closed, so that may be worth another trip!)

Longtime reader, infrequent poster here. I've been pondering this question in my mind and just had the genius idea to place it in front of the theme park obsessed minds on TPR. So here it is: Me and my best friend are planning a cross country road trip come October (yes, planning ahead!) I'm going to fly out to Philadelphia and we're going to drive back to LA together, making sure to swim in both oceans! While we want to see some major touristy things, and eat at lots of delicious restaurants, (Thank you Yelp!) I'd really like to visit theme parks along the way. So I'm trying to decide whether to get a SF pass or a CF pass, or possibly both. We're looking for the greatest number of high rated roller coasters in the least number of days/ out of the way travel. Things to consider: 1. I have been to Great Adventure (SF) and Valleyfair (CF) My friend hasn't. 2. I am basically obsessed with Goliath coming to SFGAm. I think I caught myself drooling once. 3. I live next to Magic Mountain but have never been to Cedar Point. I'm dying to go and compare! 4. I already have a Knott's Berry Farm pass for 2014, but it isn't good for all the parks. I do not have a SF pass this year. My friend has neither. 5. By October, one of the companies may be offering their "Buy in 2014 and get 2015 too" discounts, which would be a great value. 6. Buying both passes could definitely be a possibility, but then we'd feeel obligated to go to EVERY park on the way! 7. Gas is expensive. (Duh!) And apparently there are "other things" that do not involve roller coasters. Sounds sketchy, but I'd love to check out these "non-theme park attractions." So there it is. I know some of you have visited many of these parks and can tell me which ones are skippable and which are can't miss parks! So your advice/opinions would be appreciated! *Since I'm not a frequent poster, I'm not quite sure if I posted this in the right place/correctly. Feel free to move/modify/edit/add pictures of donkeys.

I'm in Norcal until June 1st...so no Termy for me! But, I thought I'd help you all out and let you know my fastest way to get to the back of the park by Deja Vu (And now Terminator!) I can pretty much guarantee it's faster than Orient Express. Go towards the entrance of Revolution, but go in the Fastpass entrance/ride exit instead. Follow the path and take the exit out the other way...viola, you're underneath Revolution's chain, having missed Viper and X2 and the loop around. That's it.

I'm just excited because besides the 1 minute of ride time (it looks like the helix furthest from Deja Vu was left out in the video) there will be a much longer "experience time" than, say, Scream. Here you'll walk past scenery and through preshows before even seeing the station. To me that makes it much more valuable than just the minute it's moving...though that minute is still my favorite part.

Does CGA have an option to compete or not? It's close proximity means that those who have the means to go to either will make a choice, which would put them in competition. You're right though, CGA would need CF to give it some capital investment for it to survive. Right now I think in ten years it'll probably just be a parking lot for the 49ers.

Yeah...not gonna lie, it's really not the greatest park. SFDK is much better. I've never seen CP or KI, but I don't think CGA live's up to the standards of those parks. CGA has Top Gun (Flight Deck? Please....) That's about it. They foolishly dumped Stealth, and their latest coaster addition was 2003, Psycho Mouse. Wild Mouse? Really? lol, I just don't see much of a future for this park, especially if SFDK adds another big coaster.
