Hello Fantastic Friends and Fellow Fantasy Footballers!!!!!! Every once in a while, we have to stop the fun on The Big Mike Road Show and look back on the great times we had in a certain park on the tour, for that park has reached the end of its lifespan! Such is the case for this trip report I am afraid. KiddieLand, the long running family amusement park in Illinois, is giving its "Last Rides" this upcoming Sunday! The park has raffled off the last rides on every single ride they have, and will make an all day event out of it before they close thier gates for good and sell all the rides. Maybe I will tally up the profits, as they are selling each seat on each ride, as I am curious on how much money they could rake in on closing day. If I have the time, look for an update on it soon. Well, when Big Mike heard they were closing and Big Mike had never visited there before, this trip was a no brainer and booked immediately. Now, one of the best things about the new and improved 2009 Big Mike Road Show was that Big Mike was going to go above and beyond the call of duty to get pictures of every single ride at every single park for the TPR Park Index to make Theme Park Review even that much more awesome! I felt I owed it to Robb for everything he has helped The Big Mike Road Show to become! Starting from the opening park this year, when I dragged poor old Jeff Johnson around Castle Amusement Park telling him that this was my new mission, it is trip reports like these that benefit the most. To enjoy my farewell to KiddieLand, I am now able to go right down the schedule of the last ride times of each ride with pictures!!! I know most of you already expect this sheer awesomeness from The Mighty Big Man, but this is just a part of the responsibility you have when you are the #2 overall ranked TPR thread of all time! It was a nice ride, but a little hard to see anything. Maybe a bit too small for The Big Man, but he rode anyway! This also has a nice long course. Yep, this is the Steam Train. Just making sure. 7:30pm - Last ride for the Steam Powered Train. Yes, they are bringing out both trains. The biggest guy on this train also had fun as he collected credit #783 for Big Mike! Despite his face, the biggest guy on the train was having fun too! The coaster was just right, not too whimpy, not too mean, lots of fun for everyone. The Little Dipper has a nice course. The lift and track, not looking spiffy and new. The train, looking spiffy and new. Old fashioned brakes. Reverse overview. Overview. This closure hurts and they gave this time slot a half hour. 7pm - The last ride on The Little Dipper. 6:45 - Last ride for the Gas Powered Train. (The gas train was not running on my visit.) 6:30 - Last ride for the German Carousel. 6:15pm - Last ride for the Tilt A Whirl. 6pm - Last ride for the Scooters. 5:45 - Last ride for Polyp. 5:30pm - Last ride for the Elephant. 5:15pm - Last ride for the Mushroom. Since the park is not using these attractions on Last Ride day, I will show them to you first. A kids play area. Big Mike always loves parks that give away free drinks. Sure Meghan somehow managed to beat The Big Man this week, and sure, Meghan is the ONLY undefeated team left in the Powered Coaster League, and sure Meghan qualifies as a Big Mike Super Hottie, but don't let all this fool you into thinking that Big Mike won't be on top of Meghan and pounding her by the end of the season! This trip report is from Coney Island, but not the Coney Island in New York, this is the Coney Island near Cincinatti Ohio!! This was my first trip there and I always visualized this Coney Island near Kings Island as a small tiny park, but I was mistaken, its a pretty good size! Our good friend and fellow TPR member Jared (Reon) works here also, so it was another chance to say hello to him for Craig (Iggyace), Gage (Iggyskid), and myself! This trip report also has a new business venture for The Mighty Big Man!!!! A few days before this visit, Big Mike was contacted by a local establishment who must follow The Big Mike Road Show, which is exclusively shown only right here on Theme Park Review! A brief summary... You know how big stars lend thier name out to businesses, like a restaurant or a car dealership or a product, such as The George Foreman Grill or Mickey Mantle's Restaurant (went there with good buddy Rick)! Well this business must have seen the star power in Big Mike and how lightning fast Big Mike is climbing the TPR standing charts, and they wanted to jump on the bandwagon too! In the end, they had a few requests and Big Mike had a few requests, and a deal was struck! Check it out at the end of this report!!!! Hope you enjoy!! Peace, Big Mike The last request was to have a huge parking lot so that the massive influx of people to come visit the new Big Mike store would have a place to park and to also make it big enough for buses, since I wanted to make sure that TPR trips could stop by when they are close! Big Mike's 2nd request was a no brainer and EVERYONE should be able to figure out what it was, to make sure that the Big Mike signs were done in the same gold color as The Official Big Mike Road Show T-Shirts!!! Big Mike on the other hand, since he was the most desired big name star on thier list, had 3 demands that needed to be met before he would agree to lend the Big Mike brand name to them! Request #1 was to open a Mystery House! Big Mike loves fun houses and dark rides and haunted houses, so he always wanted one of his own, so I put it as a demand! They said that it would not fit in with the Rock and Gift store and I said "Do you really want Big Mike? Here is the result! The company only had a few requests, which was to be able to use the well known and widely popular "Big Mike" brand name, and for Big Mike to make a few public appearances from time to time. That concluded the trip report, and now we are on to bigger and better things, Big Mikes new business venture!! Introducing: Big Mike's Rocks and Gifts!!! ... check out Gage at the bottom, thats a LOT of water!!! Look at all the floods and the years! The height does not look that tall here when I am standing at the bottom, but..... It is tucked away in the back of the park and you can see the river behind it. My favorite thing in the museum was the Flood of 1964 photos! There is actually a "flood marker" in the park, so we set out to find it! Missed credit opportunities. We took a stroll through the parks museum where they showed all the old coasters at the park. We have ourselves a Winner!!! That was all the rides at the park, so it was time to go back and get Craig! Flying Bobs Frog Hopper Rock O Planes Craig found his favorite midway game, the bowling ball game, and I let him play there while I walked around the park and got many, many pictures for the TPR Park Index! Big Mike figured he would try the front too and the ride op girls got in a big fight on who would help Big Mike! I said that they could both share The Big Man, so they calmed down and did. I think this is about where the ride op girls figured out they had a celebrity on thier coaster. The lift. Credit #775 for Big Mike! (Yes, I am 138 coasters behind in posting, UGH!!!) Overview. Well this is close to a trip report, as it does have Coney Island and Great Adventure in it, but it has a whole lot more too!!! This report shows you what kind of special treatment you get when you stay at The Big Mike Hotel, like when Rick and Gwen checked in last month!!!!! This report also has my first ever get together with the very lovely and extremely cool and fun Lenaapple1974!!!! Hope you enjoy!!!! Just in case you didn't know where you go on The Big Mike Hotel VIP Tour! 354 stairs up, and 354 stairs down, but well worth it! That is where we were!! Landmarks. A never ever before seen "Double Behind the Scenes" of the Coaster Palooza Tour! Outside in the air again! Ahhhh! The crown was a lot of fun! Time to take the stairs back down to the rest of the general public. Even when being the best tour guide in the business, there is always a little extra time to flirt with the various super hotties! How about this very rare view? Great up close shots by The Big Man. We are way up there. The windows you look out of in the crown. It was already 92 degrees up in here and 76 percent humidity! The guy said it would hit 140 up here later. This is as high as you can go! A loooooong spiral staircase, but Big Mike made it! A spiral staircase leads to the top. Crown sign. Rick really enjoyed the VIP exclusive access by ourselves! The original torch! 1st in line ! Is there really any better way to check out the sites in NYC than by using the VIP lines with Big Mike? Next stop, the crown way up there! Lady Liberty! Big Mike just likes to see his friends happy Who is a better tour guide than Big Mike??? Big Mike and his city in the background! Exclusive view on how those hot dog and pretzel stands get set up in the morning! The crown has just opened once again for visitors, and luckily Rick got us tickets in advance so we could check it out! The Big Mike Hotel special VIP tour for Rick and Gwen continued to The Statue of Liberty! We got out to slap his ass for good luck! The Wall Street Bull! Hard Rock Cafe #2 complete! Where will the VIP tour take Rick and Gwen next? Frank Sinatra! ... it is made by balls and bats! Nice. This Hard Rock Cafe is very upscale to represent the Yankees! Notice the Yankees on the wall in the back..... A guitar signed by all the NY Yankees, best team in baseball Ahhh, thats why we are at Yankee Stadium, another Hard Rock Cafe!!! Behind the scenes of The Coaster Palooza Tour! Next stop on the Big Mike Hotel VIP Tour was Yankee Stadium! What kind of tour guide would I be if I did not put Rick and Gwen on a NYC subway? Big Mike used to watch Friends and had never been here before! The next place that Rick and Gwen wanted to check out was this arch that they saw in the beginning of the "Friends" TV show! Way up here, there were falcons flying all over the place! Super rare exclusive view of the New Years Eve Ball in Times Square, from above!!! Central Park! There is a coaster there too! Nice view. The difference is that this area is not open air like the previous level, but you are up that much higher. Tada!!! Follow me to the 102nd floor! While most visitors are content to just stop here to enjoy the view, we are not most visitors! We are going all the way up! Hello new friend. While Gwen was listening to her tour, Big Mike made some new friends! Gwen got an audio tour for further enjoyment. We are pretty high up there! Rick and Gwen! Big Mike brought them to the VIP enterance where there were no lines at all! Yep, to the top of the Empire State Building is where they wanted to go! What else did Rick and Gwen want to do, hmmm? Hard Rock #1 completed! The gang having fun! Rick and Gwen like to visit all the Hard Rock Cafes, so we have one right here in Times Square. I showed them some art. Of course, my first stop for them was to meet my good friend The Naked Cowboy! The next day, Rick and Gwen requested NYC and Big Mike's VIP Tour for them began. Lena and Ameilia, I love how they get along! Thanks sooooo much for letting The Mighty Big Man hang out with the gang! Big Mike couldn't let a super hottie get away without a hug too! Hey, they could play all night as far as Big Mike was concerned! It was a long concert! While Rick and Gwen enjoyed the concert, I got to enjoy Lena's company! Lena also brought her very beautiful daughter Ameilia along with a whole bunch of her cool friends! Big Mike was overjoyed to finally meet this very adorable and fun girl, Lena (lenaapple1974)! The new parade and fireworks, Big Mike has not seen either yet. Figure I will check out this new area too! Mike was happy to oblige this time because he was scheduled to finally meet Lena and ride Kingda Ka with her. Well one out of two was still worth it for sure! The next day Rick and Gwen wanted to go to Great Adventure and the Freedom Concert, so Big Mike obliged again! Good luck Gabe on your way up to the big leagues! Big Mike supplied the Nathan's coupons! Of course, we all had to ride the Cyclone after the game since Rick has been waiting forever to ride it! Lets just say Rick had a little problem walking after the ride. Final score. Another home team victory when Big Mike is in attendance! Fireworks after the game. Rick, Gwen, and the hostest with the mostest, Big Mike! Rick seems real excited to check into The Big Mike Hotel later! The Geico Gecko threw out the 1st pitch. The best part is that the real Cyclone coaster is right behind it! Nice cool Cyclone score board. While Rick was chatting with his friend, Big Mike went to find some of his own friends! Gabe, Rick's friend just called up to the minors! Minor league Brooklyn Cyclones. Rick wanted to see a friend ump a game at Keyspan Park in Coney Island, so Rick's wish was honored by The Mighty Big Man! BIG MIKE FANTASY FOOTBALL INVITATIONAL WEEK #1 UPDATE! Hello Fantastic Friends and Fellow Fantasy Footballers!!! Week #1 was a big success for The Mighty Big Man!!! Although he did not go an undefeated 6-0, the record stands at 4-2, with 2 of those wins coming in both money leagues Now that the season has started, here is how we are going to crown the overall Champion and a recap on the Grand Prize! The Grand Prize consists of a Big Mike 5 Piece Prize Pack: A Mikestery Treasure Hunt Card A Brand New Big Mike Road Show Pin A Very Limited Edition Ducky from 2008, there were only 2! An Official Big Mike Road Show 2008 T-Shirt and The 1st ever given away Official Big Mike Road Show 2009 T-Shirt! You also get to be known as the only Big Mike Road Show Fantasy Football Invitational Champion and Theme Park Review Fantasy Football Guru! Now, to win all of this, here is how to do it: We have 3 leagues going right now. We have the Steel Coaster league, the Wood Coaster league, and the Powered Coaster league. Play all season, make the playoffs and win your league is step #1. The 3 Champions of each leagues will then move on to the Super Finals!! The Super Finals will be run throughout the whole NFL playoffs, all the way up to and including the Super Bowl. The 3 Champions will participate in another live draft to choose thier Super Final Team, which could be tricky because some NFL teams will only play one game, should be fun and challenging. The Big Mike Road Show Fantasy Football Invitational Champion will be whoever has the most points by the end of the Super Bowl! So right now, I will just update Big Mike's status since I am having a little problem trying to figure out matching TPR screen names to the fantasy football teams. Big Money League - Big Mike rolls to a 141-108 victory! The team I beat with 108 points was the 2nd highest scorer of the league, but thats what happens when you play The Mighty Big Man, you get the loss regardless. Little Money League - Big Mike out of the gates early in this head to head league with a 205-187 victory. Big Mike leads 1-0 and 8 more wins to go to clinch the cash. Public League - Big Mike's refresher league against everyone else out there in the World comes up with a 111-81 victory! Wood Coaster League - Big Mike plays arch rival Ken (Slither37) and comes out with a 83-76 win to start the season! Steel Coaster league - Big Mike kind of gets ripped off going up against the Eagle Defense who scores 43 points against him in a 88-65 loss to Jake (Jakizle). Basic math is 88-43 = 45 which equals Big Mike 65, Jake 45. Oh well, everyone gets lucky against The Mighty Big Man sometimes Powered Coaster League - Big Mike may have overlooked this match up a little bit as I now notice after the fact that Steve (bigstevet07) has 15 trophies in fantasy leagues already on the site that I set up our league on. Big Mike will be ready next time and will take his 134-92 defeat as a learning lesson. Thats the recap.
