  1. It looks awesome... why do I have a feeling that WCB will have Superman going forward and backward for evening ERT. Ok... if not this year maybe next year
  2. What I find most annoying about the "Disneyland Fanboys" is how they will tell you how far superior Disneyland is, yet offer very little constructive feedback as to why. They just want you to believe "it just is..." You had a very legitimate series of questions, and I really do appreciate those who gave their response and put in a bit of effort to back it up. The guy is talking about spending thousands of dollars for a vacation for him and his four year old daughter. I would expect more out of our users than to just tell him "Disneyland is better...because it is..." Sorry, I just had to say something...it frustrates me sometimes when I read comments like these... I hope you enjoy your trip to either park, whichever one you choose! --Robb More of a Theme Park Fanboy, but let me give you some detail per your request Robb. Disneyland has history on its side. For the majority of the population they could care less, but I am guessing if the original poster is on a theme park website he does have some interest in the overall theme park genre. Now Disneyland was not necessarily the first, but it was the first popular theme park of its kind. Now lets say you don't care about history. Well then the best value for your dollar would still be to go to Disneyland (remember DL vs. MK). Disneyland offers a lot of the same attractions as MK plus the attractions that are available at other WDW Parks (ex Star Tours and Fantasmic). You then have things not available at the MK like Matterhorn (another historical attraction) and the Indiana Jones Adventure. If cleanliness and attraction upkeep is important then Disneyland is better as well. Take it this was way. If MK and DL were the only 2 parks in a resort, which one would you visit more often? I would also recommend to anyone visiting Disneyland is to visit everything that Southern California has to offer (Beaches, Hollywood, Magic Mtn, Knotts, Universal, etc...) even though Disney wouldn't want you to leave the Disneyland Resort
  3. The resort expansion aka California Adventure redo will be complete
  4. If you compare DL to the MK only then DL wins. If you want the whole Disney experience then MK and WDW would win. That being said... if you are visiting out of town I would avoid Disneyland like the plague until the summer of 2012. Especially if you are interested in visiting California Adventure.
  5. Went on the 1st...glad I had my Front of the Line Pass... Longest line was to pick up my pass... 45 minutes... worst part of my night. First... Bill and Ted I think the main reason people in California haven't warmed up to it is that we are use to seeing something like The Hanging at Knotts and people compare the two as the same type of show. Saw Maze: It's just ok, but I was actually more disgusted than anything. It smells, its wet, and just a bad experience Mummy: Still crappy and the forced employee clapping is horrendous and pitiful. King Kong 360: A ok experience, but no story and having no idea what to focus on makes it confusing Terror Tram: Boring... I remember back in the day where you actually traveled around the backlot and experienced the story/scenes while riding the tram. BRING IT BACK UNIVERSAL. The best part of Terror Tram is that you get to walk near the Bates Motel and Psycho house, but other than that it still sucks. Except that year where they had mini areas/mazes for Leatherface, Jason, and Freddy... that was fun. Freddy and Jason Maze: I really liked these. The effects in Nightmare were fun and the outdoor forest theming for Jason rocked. However, I did miss Michael Myers this year. 1,000 Corpses Maze: I never saw the movie but I liked it for what it was and the 3D was interesting. Overall I had fun, but make sure you get a Front of the Line Pass...totally worth it. **TIP ** pick up the pass before the event starts.
  6. btw... what was up with the crane and Tatsu being down until the afternoon? side note that cheap soak zone on the JetStream sucked, plus our boat on JetStream was beyond flooded when we stepped in (water up to your ankle). We had to put our feet on top of the seats... and that could be considered unsafe.
  7. Stupid Question I know.... So Early ERT and Night ERT is for Terminator Only? No other rides will be operating during the ERT hours? just checking
  8. done ...now i need a sfmm ticket for the event
  9. looking for one ticket brisal73@hotmail.com
  10. I dunno man, I personally thought the night ERT was the highlight of the event! They gave us *ALL* the coasters to ourselves for what, 90 minutes? I ended up getting so many solo night rides in because the group was so spread out. And then having the Sky Tower open at night with all the execs up there it was like having our own private party up there! That really kicked a$$. I have no idea if they'll be able to do that same thing for us again this year but I really think that ERT session was one of the best I've ever been to. I think only our 3 hours at Liseberg where they gave us beer, hard liquor, hammers & nails to pound into Balder, marks to write our name on the wood, and a cherry picker to get photos from 90 feet up in the air is the only other ERT session that TPR has had that comes close! --Robb Night ERT was the best. No need for morning ERT Just give us 2-3 hours of night ERT and all coasters open and I will be a happy camper
  11. Thank you for the invite, but I have 1 question i am going to busy all night on the 23rd is there a certain time that I have to be there at or can I show up right before it starts?
  12. Even after the breakdowns at both Tatsu and Viper in the morning. The event was still awesome. Interesting thing was I dragged one of my friends with me who hated SFMM because of how dirty and ghetto it was. By mid day he told me...you know what? I have never seen this place look so clean. I laughed and totally agreed with him. Now they just need to stop giving the park away for free so some of the ghetto folk wont screw it all up. I too was excited about the NERT Colossus, Scream twice, Goliath Twice, Batman Twice, Riddler Twice and finished it up with Gold Rush twice. Also if you haven't ridden Gold Rush at night you should and sit in the back row. During most of the ride you cant see what the hell is about to happen. It was awesome and probably my favorite experience of the day. I wish the ticket booths were open by the time we left because I would have bought and year pass right then and there as gratitude for a great time. Thx again see you next year or maybe X2 opening???
  13. went on the 12th Took a few co workers with me. First thing I noticed was that IT WASN'T CROWDED..interesting... maybe the price hike compared to previous week or the threat of rain anyhow Decided to hit lower lot. First Up Texas Chainsaw... i loved it, but it really freaked out my guests. Sets, scares, talent all good. Loved the ending and got some chest blood squirted in my face. i went to this event last year and was disappointed, but after the first maze I started to feel it was getting better already. 9/10 Next up Jurassic Park. Ok ride and not all the lights were out like last year. Got much wetter this time around...oh well 6/10 Mummy was next...I hate this ride IT SUCKED..nuff said 0/10 Then the trek back up the escalators. It might just be me but trekking down and up the escalators takes you out of the experience. Especially with no scare zones in between. Anyways, Terror Tram was next. I expected to be disappointed after the reviews I read, my feelings were the opposite, BUT just a bit. Warning rant coming** I am the type of guest that experienced HHN when it first started in Hollywood. I LOVED the Tram then. Back then the tram took you through different parts of the lot and stopped throughout to give you a Horror Scene. I MISS THAT... if Universal is listening BRING THAT BACK. That is the one thing the event needs. So back to my current experience. The tram was a better in a way that I took my time through it this time. I also liked the fact you walked your way around and through the airplane disaster set. Last Year it was just a straight line. Other than that it was the worst thing there (don't even make me bring up the lame Mummy tunnel). 6/10 The tram was so bad that 12 of the 13 guests I had left. Some were a bit weirded out and others thought the event was lame. I'm just glad I stayed because the event got a whole lot better afterwards. so let me explain Next up was Nightmare on Elm Street. Loved the movies while growing up and really enjoyed the recognized scenes. Some reason the nurses were scarier than Freddy but I liked when Freddy comes out of the fat woman...nice 8/10 Next up Bill and Teds. I never experienced BAT so I was interested in knowing what the fuss is about. All in all it was a good show. Some slow parts but it had a very good ending. Loved Britney with the Babies. 8/10 After BAT it started to RAIN and by rain I mean buckets, gallons, dogs and cats... I liked it and it added to to the atmosphere. Whys that?..cause Friday the 13th was next. Had a great time met two girls in line that were unfortunately wearing sandals so they were pretty much screwed when it came to it raining. So as the polite guy I am I let them in the maze first. Every scene had really good scares and I loved the victims. Btw the girls half way through wanted me and my friend it front. Being squeezed by cute girls is something you can only get in a Halloween Maze. Thank you Jason 10/10 (i am not counting the girls) After that we headed to House of Horrors. This was the worst maze of tonight. So much Potential and not enough scares. 7/10 So that was my night. All in all it was WAAAAY better than last year and I look forward to next year. things I would add for next year #1 Original Terror Tram ride #2 More mazes..where is Michael Meyers? #3 More Victims. Idea they could use is have actors play the role of maze guest (walk with the guest) and then get attacked by Jason, Freddy, etc... That would be scary and something Ive never seen #4 Add rain effects to certain areas. Last nights rain storm added a lot to the event Thx for reading
