  1. Saturdays during Great Adventure Fright Fest are usually very crowded. You are trying to go the last weekend of the season and the weekend before the Halloween! You can't but expect it to be extremely crowded if the weather is decent. The lines for the Fright Fest attractions can get very long and there is no Flash Pass! And the crowds have not always been the best during this event. Now the Terror Trail and Hayride might be scary if you were a young teenager. They are fun but don't expect a huge scare. If I say too much it will take away from your expreience. Make sure to take the bridge by El Toro and Medusa! There are scare actors throughout the park...just not as many as past years. They seem to be relying on those smoke machines a little more this year. This past Friday 10/06/2006 the park was empty! Not a line in the park, even for all the Fight Fest attractions. I would change your trip date to a Friday night earlier in the month (5PM-11PM). Good luck.
  2. Front row on Kingda Ka by meself several times in a row, all alone! They had to overlaunch the train to get it to make it over the top (no mass to the train). There actually was some airtime over the top!! This was during the Childrens Miracle Network event that they held earl;ier this year...and only 20 people showed up! Even more amazing was it didn't break down!
  3. Early October is not too bad. It may be one of the best times to go other than the spring time. Avoid the end of October..unless you like HUGE crowds and long lines. Especially if there happens to be an Indian Summer going on. Six Flags said they were going to make Fright Fest more family oriented. But from what I've seen so far this year I just don't expect much to change.
  4. Kingda Ka is the only ride that does not operate if there is even a slight drizzle. The weather reports are not very accurate. There was an 80% today and it didn't really rain at all. A 30% chance of showers is not bad. If anything a passing shower may clear the park and make your trip a little nicer. Just stay after the storm passes and you should be fine. And El Toro is now operating with 2 trains!! Good luck.
  5. I was also one of the lucky 24 people that attended this wonderful Childrens Miracle Network event at Six Flags Great Adventure. Kingda Ka in the front car by yourself was just amazing. They had to overlaunch the train to get it over the top since it was enpty. You actually got airtime over the tophat! After about my 6th time I also realized that there is a fog/mist generator at then end of the launch track. Wow! El Toro is now my favorite ride in the park. The very front train has great views, but the back is definitely my favorite. Towards the end of the day it was going much faster, especially in the twister section. Much more intense. The rest of my day was spent cycling thru Nitro / Kinda Ka / El Toro. (Ka broke down about 5:30PM) I left the park at 6:00 after 2 more rides on El Toro. My body had enough for the day. I contemplated a nostalgic ride on Rolling Thunder, but opted to keep my kidneys intact. That ride just hurts. This was an amazing event!
