Sorry guys, this has been the Perfect Storm of busy for me these last few days. After the awesome time I had at media day, I then had to get ready to leave for Yosemite for the Mother's Day Weekend. My computer has been super busy ever since recording the Survivor finale, 24, and now The Amazing Race finale tonight, so that's why I've been unable to post any more news clips. I finally have them all rough edited though (so I can get rid of the two 10GB files from Thursday morning), and I will be attempting to make some more <30MB files from them. Eventually, I may try to setup an FTP server so you can download larger (and nicer quality) versions. In the meantime, here is a quick summary of what I was able to get: ABC (HD) 5AM - 7AM: Pretty much every mention of Tatsu, including 3 long segments. KTLA 7AM - 9AM: ditto, including probably the best on ride commentary by a media person that I got (Bill Smith, whom I also ran into in the Rapids Camp bathroom ). There is also a very brief and hard to see shot of me and my guest on the first train out of station 2 after the 2 hour media delay when he returns to the station. We're in the furthest two seats away from the camera's view. CBS: Live feed with Rick Chambers in the 5PM hour, followed by a recap in the 6PM hour of another live feed that he did that day. Funny jokes by Johnny Mountain, the weather guy. FOX: Recap of Tony McEwing's live feed during 10PM news. So that is what else you have to look forward to from me in the next day or two. Matt P.S. the first file that is 35MB is the teaser I posted Wednesday night before media day. So far, they are all still in large HDTV Transport Stream format.

Ok, here is the first video I captured yesterday morning. I had to drop the fps to 30 so it would be small enough to post. I just finished my full quality 1280x720 @ 60fps version of this report too, but it is 145MB, so you'll have to contact me if you want that version. Matt Tatsu - ABC Live Video Feed.zip

Hi all, I had a great time myself too, and so did my guest. She rode Tatsu 10 times, and I got in two more than that after she left, for a personal total of 12! And that was all before 1PM, despite a big 2 hour media delay from 5:30 - 7:30 AM. I got my first ride just before 5AM, and my second about 10 minutes later. Then came the delay, but then suddenly before I knew it, I had rides #3 and 4 done, back to back! I stopped remembering details at that point, so I won't bore you any further. We did try something interesting on ride #5 or 6, and that was riding the entire circuit with our eyes closed. That was weird! They must have those turns perfectly banked, because I couldn't even tell we were making turns, it just felt like dips, even the Egg Turn! I do agree though that the Pretzl Loop may just be a little bit too intense. Even though I never got the buzz I got on my first ride on Goliath, I found that I couldn't help but yell WHOAAA every time I went through the Pretzl Loop. I'm sure I can live with it that way, but I'm not so sure about the GP. And yes, my capturing of some of the local news casts went very well. I got the entire live feeds from ABC (7) and KTLA (5) in the early morning, and I got home just in time to get most of CBS's live feed. FOX's evening news is coming up in about 10 minutes, so I'll be at it again trying to get that too. I may not be able to get anything posted until next week, since I am leaving town tomorrow afternoon. When I do though, I will probably post small (320x240) MPEG1 files in this thread, but if anyone wants higher quality copies, I'll probably have to send them directly to you somehow. My sample clip on Page 9 should tell you how high I can go. Heck, I'll even send you the HD .ts files if you want them! Anyway, I am very thankful to Robb and Elissa for putting on this event for us. It was a dream almost 7 months in the making that finally came true. I had a great time, and can't wait for the next big ride! Matt

^Dude still hasn't learned how to use punctuation... I am currently preparing my HD capturing computer to capture as much news as I can on Thursday. I will mainly try to capture from ABC, since they have all their newscasts in HD. I know that KTLA will probably also be sending their reporter out there as well, so I'll be capturing that as well. No doubt though, just about all the local stations will be out there. Whatever I manage to grab, I will be sure to share with everyone!

Fuji-Q Highlands Discussion Thread

I've noticed similar under-supporting on Tatsu as well during its twisting inversions. It could be that because the train is doing something similar to a Zero-G roll, there will not be a lot of excess force on the track at that point, unlike say at the bottom of a hill where there will be tremendous downforce on the track.
