  1. It was already revealed that this does not have the turntable, because Six Flags. In Texas I assume this will be a very long line. They look incredibly fun.
  2. My husband and I are going in 2 weeks and also bought the entry+7 passes and holy crap we were shocked at the end price to say the least. He's never been to any Universal park at all so it sucks that we'll have to wait for a few rides like Backdraft because it doesn't include everything.... but oh well. We'll make the best of it.
  3. Yea but B&M didn’t have to offer them a weaker drop curvature or this insane brake run. Neither of those two bad choices saved any money lol.
  4. I think it’s crazy to suggest that I'M TOO MUCH OF AN IDIOT TO SPELL STEEL VENGEANCE hasn’t helped their bottom line. It’s a huge draw and pulls 2 hour lines all day. It’s known worldwide as the best coaster.
  5. I don’t think it’s showing “hate” to point out that this is a downgrade in every way from the other older B&M Gigas. Fury showed that they can do massive steeper drops and the ride doesn’t have to end 100’ up with a mile long brake run. This will be a fine ride... but when you’re spending this many millions it seems odd to aim for fine rather than “holy f***” like Fury or i305 (admittedly I can see why no one will build another i305 tho).
  6. Good point for Lev, just watched the POV and see what you mean. This goes over an access road but nothing in that road could be taller than the hole that's currently under Racer.
  7. Does anyone have any technical theory for why this and Leviathan have brake runs that are seemingly 100' in the air? Intamin has no issue running a train at 120mph into a flat brake run knowing that the magnets will do their thing... it's not like doing the raised brake run saves any (contactless) magnet maintenance. My non-enthusiast husband who has never seen Leviathan just watched the TPR-posted POV and his first thought was "why does it end higher up than that building (FoF)" and I realized that I honestly don't have a logical answer for him.
  8. It's especially weird that they didn't have anything prepared when the *exact* layout was posted to YouTube on May 9. The guy who created the NoLimits video either 1. had an inside connection or 2. is a wizard because he absolutely nailed every element. They were upstaged by a 4 month old leak video!
  9. From your trip report photos it's pretty amazing that it's July 9 and they still don't have queue rails in the ground, and haven't begun painting them. I'm really not shocked that most of the park's employees don't seem to care to do their jobs well/quickly when this is the sort of stuff that management allows. I know we had bad weather this year but that definitely didn't affect the ability to have a basic, undecorated queue in place halfway through the season.
  10. Isn't it a little bit early to be proclaiming Maxx Force a great success? It's been down more than it has been open since opening day with huge blocks of downtime... we have no way of knowing how reliable it will even be yet.
  11. The old ending scene with the fog and the waterfall completely hiding the T-Rex was *terrifying* as a kid and that's why I remember the ride so fondly. It made me feel something. The flashing lights and alarms and giant surprise dinosaur all got burned into my memory. This new version will never do that for anyone. The T-Rex isn't even close to the boat when it gets revealed.
  12. I like the pictures on the wall of the rides you could be riding if you weren't sitting in the "exclusive" gift shop.
  13. Indiana Beach's shot tower also added a super tight seatbelt underneath the restraints this year. The ride ops were very annoyed, and it definitely removed any "pop" of air that existed at the top. I don't know why S&S decided to ruin the one fun part of the upshot towers. Real drop towers are so much more exhilarating already.
  14. That... looks like a very depressing place to hang out lol. Couldn't they at least throw a bar in there or something?
  15. I've been shaken by this new pov all day. It's just *SO* aggressively bad.... who let this happen... ?!
  16. Those Zamperla pendulums are not having a good year. SFGADV's is down for the 2nd long period of time this season, Black Widow is down, Crazanity has had bad issues too. We knew this from the HUSS models but the motors required to power these massive swings appear to be a nightmare for maintenance. I'm assuming that's why KD's never gets closed to a full swing height anymore and basically runs half a cycle.
  17. Worth noting that Wonder Mountain's Guardian is already in a state of complete disrepair. As of last week every screen was horribly out of focus, most guns were broken, one train only had ONE working car, and every other train had broken cars. So maybe Cedar Fair shouldn't build them.
  18. Valravn experienced a braking failure tonight and two trains collided in the station. No serious injuries.
  19. Agreed, she's not even warmed up yet and that back row already looks like it will be amazing. I'm a little shocked they don't have rescue platforms for possible valleys in the first inversion and the banana roll...
  20. The park posted official footage of the first test run! She looks great!
  21. The fried chicken they gave us for the event was delicious, I should have noted that before, we never made it to Plymouth. I'll definitely be getting that chicken next year when we go back.
  22. Overall HN was an incredible event... thanks to the park staff that made it all happen! I did have two questions about Holiday World in general though. Are their operations and food always so terrible? For some reason I thought I had read on here / elsewhere that HW had some decent food but yikes the options were tragic, Six Flags levels bad. The worst chicken fingers, nearly inedible pizza w/ weird sauce, soggy boneless wings w/ generic Tso sauce, the cheapest burger patties available from costco, the scariest looking mexican ground beef we'd ever seen (it's in little pellets), no interesting condiments to help the situations above... our group was a bit surprised at how awful the food was and how young/inexperienced the 14 year olds that seemed to be serving it all were. As for ops, their need to lock and unlock containers every cycle was causing every major coaster except Thunderbird to stack for 30-45 seconds while someone fumbled with a lock. Overall we left LOVING the park, its atmosphere, and its rides, but it was really a struggle finding anything edible and watching kids fumble with padlocks while full lines of people wait.
  23. I got my first rides on Voyage in during the day before HoliWood Nights started and thought "holy crap, that is the most insane coaster ever, how...." not even knowing what I was in for when they turned those trims off later in the night. HOLY ******* **** BALLS that girl hauls when they unleash her 2nd half. I wish I could have purchased my picture because I know I had a look of terror on my face bracing on the lap bar as she just absolutely screamed us back to the station. The noises those PTC's make on an untrimmed lap are just mental. The Voyage (untrimmed) is very clearly the edge of what you can do with those cars / traditional wood and oh man was I living for it. I'll be back to HoliWood Nights just to get more trimless laps, that thing is INSANE. /voted
  24. SFOG's Superman also has an extra car iirc.... the back row is even *more* intense than the other clones.
  25. Calling the first and last inversions "2 inversions" is a biiiiit of a stretch but hey, it's a 10 second ride let Six Flags have their marketing I guess. We call all the weird inversions and inverted turns that RMC creates single elements.
