  1. The admin over at GAH later sort of confirms that it's for the solar panels going up in the park, so that's rather disappointing considering we haven't even been teased this year. GAdv social media has been dead most of the year, save for the random coaster picture.
  2. 3Mutts, are you talking about the Balin's Jungleland path or the Safari Discoveries path? Balin's Jungle (AKA the actual "Official" path) just opened/was open on my visit earlier this month (July 10th), so I did not need to walk through the animal exhibits making it marginally quicker. The official path is right behind the Dippin' Dots stand in the Google Maps walkthrough, but is blocked off with fencing. coasterBro, Most flashpass lines converge on the station, and there is no row restriction. As for loose articles, unfortunately it's more Universal style where there is nothing allowed in your pockets, and if they suspect you have loose articles they'll ask you to turn out your pockets or metal wand you. The loose article policy also covers Joker. Lockers aren't as bad as most moan about, being $1 for two hours, which means you can easily hit multiple rides with one locker. As for whether or not you'll need a Flashpass... it depends when exactly you're going and how lucky you get. If you mean a Fright Fest Sunday in September, then it'll be dead, but if you mean around Labor day it could be mobbed. You can't really accurately predict crowds at this park. I'd budget for one and purchase it in the park depending how lines are.
  3. Teasers for 2019 have already started appearing around the park. Calling the number on the billboard states: "You ...Are formally invited to a zoning hearing on Thursday, August 30th. At this hearing, you will learn more about a major change taking place at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in 2019. Make sure you mark your calendars, as you will not want to miss this big news, and make sure to tell your friends and neighbors as well. This is going to be, how shall I say it? Out. Of. This. World!" Honestly, after WWGLC I don't know what they could possibly be "majorly changing" about the park. Can't wait for more on this to come out.
  4. According to ParkFans Escape from Pompeii is currently on fire. Don't know anything else about it, as nobody has reported on it yet. From DexBoss_ of Reddit
  5. I thought the original plan was an RMC in the ravine, but the ground was too unstable for the footers, no? I doubt we'll ever see something in the ravine to be honest.
  6. ^^^ 19 degree Nitro and Batman was a blissful experience, other than almost getting frostbite on my hand! Early closures at this park seem to be related mostly on whether or not it's profitable to run the rides - that 19 degree day actually had some decent crowds for HitP, while the 49 degree closure, the park was basically abandoned.
  7. During the summer, they rarely close early, actually. Usually due to "inclement weather" which could mean the weather itself... or that the rain is keeping crowds away and making it unprofitable to keep the park open If it's a normal day, however, they'll almost always keep it open no matter how many people are in the park. I'm not sure I agree with dropping this park just because of potential rainy days, but Carowinds is a great park anyway that you'll enjoy.
  8. There's from the Q/A over the winter with the then park president, Neil Thurman, where he states that the park has/had the intention to change the roofing of Zumanjaro. I assume this is as concrete as it gets other than an actual press release. Also, it isn't terrible waiting for Zu on Ka, but it certainly isn't helping the lines. It's not a massive priority for the park, but it would still be nice to have them duel.
  9. Has anyone heard anything about the adjustments to Zu, which would allow it to run simultaneously with Ka? Last I heard, the park had received the permit to be able to duel them, but hasn't done the proper changes to Zu yet. Is it on hold for the summer, or cancelled all together? Waiting for the other on either ride is painful, especially so on Ka considering the already long lines it gets.
  10. Okay, so between the animal pathway and Tango? I've never even noticed a pathway entrance there. Guess I was too interested in the godly creation beside me Thanks for your help.
  11. Can anyone actually tell me where this mythical path is? For the longest time I've assumed it was the animal walk through, but my buddy told me it's not. I don't see anywhere else it could be, with most of Plaza Del Carnival being surrounded by rides and buildings on all side parallel to Golden Kingdom. Google is turning up nothing.
  12. Hey everyone, has anyone been to the Food Truck Festival in the past? I'm meeting friends there on what I thought would be a dead weekend in April, but with the festival I'm worried about lines. Would it be worth it to buy Flash Passes, or to try and go the next weekend?
