1. I think we need another wet ride to replace Thunder Rapids... we’re down to only 2 water rides now. (Excluding the water park) It seems like grizzly run always gets forgotten. There’s never any discussion about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
2. Hopefully removing all the parts they can to prepare it for removal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
3. Most of them are nearing the end of their lives, going on 30-40 years old. Gotta happen someday, and many of them have been removed lately.
4. I think the Mack Power Splash makes a good replacement. It's an updated version of essentially the same ride. It's goal is to get you wet, and the GP will probably like it better than Splash water falls, due to the launches, and the near vertical track at each end. These smaller coasters, like the gerstlauer euro fighters are going for as steep of a drop and lifthill as possible, and these rides seem to be well received. The power splash combines a lot of the latest and greatest elements of coasters and puts them into a water ride. I like it, and hopefully we will see more of them come to the states to replace the countless aging log flumes, and splash water falls clones that are out there.
5. I am sure they could, but when was the last time you heard about a park putting in a new pirate ship ride? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
6. Let's all watch this video of viper from 1982... I imagine this video was taken when they were running three train operation, with one train on the lift hill, one going through the loops, as the video shows, and one in the station, loading. Viper in 1982
7. Viper must have really gobbled up the lines quick, back in the day with 3 trains running. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
8. Why approximate? They have devices specifically made to measure decibels. We need an exact answer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
9. In my boredom today, I was browsing the SFDL website on the wayback machine, for the year 2005. Wayback machine I came across mention of a Poland Spring Plunge. Based on the description it sounds like thunder rapids. Was TR ever called Poland Spring Plunge? I don't think I can ever remember it being called that. When I google Poland Spring Plunge, all that comes up is a ride at SFNE.
10. Its nice to see Thunder Rapids and Cuda Falls are still alive and well according to the marketing team
11. Tops probably pulled out of the advertising after filing for bankruptcy. They’re probably trying to trim some fat off their advertising budget. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
12. Not sure if you’re being serious, were misinformed or being sarcastic.
13. Yeah, tantrum will probably be down to one train already. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
14. A "few" pictures? Can you share the other photos here as well by any chance? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
15. They’ve been advertising the sky screamer like crazy on the radio too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
16. Got this pic from Reddit. I’ll leave it up to your imagination as to what they’re doing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
17. This is where my question comes in: Why didn’t they start building it yet? If they did, it could be ready to roll by opening weekend. The weather is nice enough to do so now, so just why not? Yes, they have started construction. No tower parts yet, but they’ve started putting the base of the ride in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
18. Darien lake posted this on their social media yesterday. I wonder why they used such an old photo... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
19. I can confirm that at least they recently updated the snapchat geofilter for the park to the new Six Flags branding finally. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
20. Think they should move sleigh ride across the street next to all the cuda falls pieces. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
21. I don't know, why not just look at the responses to this question last time you asked it? I'm honestly impressed you remembered that he asked that questions already. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
22. From what I've heard no plans for characters or bigger area or ride theming. Might see some merchandise. Otherwise the numbers aren't high enough to justify the licensing costs. So BBB/Rocky's Ridge will likely stick around in name. Also since people apparently love signage news the Hotel's sign is down at present for replacement. Where did you hear about the lack of IPs? Do you work there or something? How do you know this is not just some sort of rumor? Hes had info in the past, so more then likely hes right Agreed, he has had very credible info in all his posts. Kinda hoping he is wrong since I wanted to see a Batman themed ride eventually come to the park. However, if he has a history of being right, then oh well. Well, a batman themed ride did come to the park, but it has since been scrapped. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
23. Yeah, as far as on topic goes, how about that sky screamer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
24. Maybe we will see a super man theme on the mind eraser. They could call it Superman: ride of steel, since well, it's a ride, and it's made out of steel painted somewhat red. Seems fitting to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
25. Mind Eraser was built in 1997. Premier bought Six Flags in 1998. It’s still the same company Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk From Wikipedia: "In 1998, Premier purchased Six Flags Theme Parks, and began to rebrand its own parks as Six Flags." Yes, it was still the same company, however, there was no affiliation between Six Flags and premier before Six Flags was acquired by premier. Six flags did not build the mind eraser.
