Has anyone else heard anything about these rumors getting closer to become true? I'm not 'anyone else' but April was a floated date however now it sounds like the plan is to close Apocalypse and the rest of Cyclone Bay on June 1st. No, they aren't demoing Apocalypse, but the entire area is going to be closed so get your rides in beforehand! That's interesting news. Will Cyclone 500 and Dive Devil be included in the closure of Cyclone Bay? Can you say what will demoed?

So True! That's what happened when I was waiting on Revy and seen those 2 idiots. Got them kicked out! It's sad that some people must feel the need to vandalize other property. Thank you for your vigilance and reporting the issue. The substantial amount of new security cameras are NOT monitored live, they are mainly for liability purposes. So if you see something... please still say something. The entire park is in great shape. Security has new training and more authority, there are some cool new games, Ride ops are on par. Due to low guest volume and staffing limitations, your favorite restaurant or kiosk may be closed, but almost all rides are open. As mentioned before, this is a fantastic time to visit the Magical Mountain. Almost zero wait times on all your favorite attractions. The only bad news is that we expected a full parking lot repave and they only did a small portion in the handicap area. So it looks like another year of crumbling parking lot for most guests and staff. There's been an emphasis on getting all the existing special effects working as intended. Don't talk to me about the Lex VR. It's been a nightmare. What about the special effects on Apocalypse? Fire and the fog/mist in tunnels? Would be cool if all that was working again.

Call me cynical, but when a ride is advertised as a 400' drop tower, part of the experience is seeing the park and surrounding areas from 400' up and freaking the hell out that you're up so high since you're about to plummet at any second. I'm sure this will add a unique quirk to the ride for a bit, but it takes away from one of the primary aspects that make drop towers thrilling. I wish VR would just go away already, it seems to have about run it's course. My point is that Drop of Doom has run its course. People aren't buying tickets to see a view because it's not something that drives attendance anymore. Being able to re-market a ride as a 'new' experience will always get at least a few people from the gate. But I totally get it, that's why I like tall drop towers too because you are so high up it feels crazy and VR absolutely takes away from that. But the VR is a 'new, marketable experience' and the park is a business and this is a solid business move to drum up new attention to an 'old' ride. i think it's a band aid since the new ride probably won't open until july. there are like 15 roller coasters at sfmm that have run their course. Yeah, it seems like it's going to be summer by the time Crazanity opens. I don't understand why SFMM's 2018 ride is so behind compared to SFOT, SFDK and KBF. Their new coasters are already testing.

www.californiacoasterkings.com/six-flags-discovery-kingdom-six-flags-magic-mountain-solar-powered/ "Six Flags Magic Mountain’s system will have capacity for nearly 15 megawatts and will be the largest solar carport anywhere in North America." "In addition to generating a large percentage of the parks’ electricity, the solar carport structures provide a number of enhancements to the guest experience, including: Covered parking for the majority of parking spaces Integrated electric vehicle charging stations Increased security through new closed circuit cameras and Enhanced parking lot surfaces." Opinions and thoughts on this?

Just a heads up... Don't rush out to purchase a Gold Plus membership quite yet. There are THREE more higher tiers coming out between February 14-24, 2018. * Platinum * Diamond * Diamond Elite If you already purchased a Gold Plus membership, you will be able to upgrade to a higher tier when they are made available. I will post the benefits of each one later tonight.

I guess their franchise agreements ended? Hopefully they put something else in the main gate location soon. Not good for something to be empty/closed up right where everyone enters the park. And now, just what we need, another empty building in the back of the park. They really need to do something with the "Cyclone Bay" section of the park.
