  1. I thought I saw one of you guys in Walmart yesterday!!! My parents have a condo right next to where you guys are staying. I always thought where you're at looks like something from Dr. Suess. How funny!!! Have fun up here!!
  2. Wow "Skywest" crap.... I guess I'll take that to work with me on thursday when I start my 4 day trip!!!! Looks like the gate next to our YEG gate. Not to sure who uses it..... Some airline in Northwest colors (mainline, compass, mesaba, pinnacle) one of those airlines....
  3. One set of chains could be for the counterweights.
  4. HAHA funny, no I am a long time reader and don't post too much. Thats funny, I really liked Mystery Mine, and Goliath is a personal fav. I guess thats proof that every opinion is different. I'll still ride MF, when I go to the Point, just not a fav. of mine.
  5. I dislike MF because in my opinion everything is so spread out. The drop is not even that great. Everything that takes places over on the MF island is just in my opinion boring. I just really do not think the coaster is worth riding if I go to the park! But thats just me! I know tons of people who LOVE the ride! I just happen to not be one of them! ------------------- Thats exactly how I, and my wife feel, about it. We do think the drop is ok. But thats it....
  6. I do realize that there are TONS of people who like it, but everytime I have been on it, it didn't do anything for me. Yes its fast, and I got a bit of air in the back on the first drop. But thats all I got. I, personally, would rather ride Magnum, or Raptor.
  7. Pretty cool!!! Reminds me of the years I worked at parks and would be working during the off seasons. And no you're not the only one that MF does nothing for.
  8. Yes you are (literally) correct. I should have said southwest part of the country. I apologize. I can't wait to get on this thing. I love the ground hugging, high speed turns. Fun Fun.
  9. No not disgruntled at all. I loved working there, and with Universal, Paramount, and A/B parks. matter of fact, I might just end up back there. And while the coaster at Silverwood, are not as bad as the Southwestern Southern Pine wood coasters. Northern Idaho is not considered a desert/arid climate. The rain up there helps HUGELY with their rides. As for Roar..... it was DDTM the day I was up there. I would like to get on it, as I enjoyed the mirror image in Maryland.
  10. No, it really has nothing to do w/ the MX at the park/parks. I mean Colossus (Douglas Fir) has been around since '78 and compared to the Psyclone ('1991), Ghostrider (i think 1999), Grizzly 1986 (but kinda goes to slow to tell), it still rides decently. Meaning not that rough, yes, I know what has been done to that ride in the past. Thats the difference in the wood used. When Ghostrider opened, I called it. Its great now, but it will become the next Psyclone. And sure enough it is just as rough as Psyclone was. And this will (unfortunately) be the same. It really has nothing to do with the MX. Looks like a great ride though!!!
  11. Oh great another west coast woodie that will be awesome for the first 3 -5 years, then get really rough because southern yellow pine has NO BUSINESS being west of the mississippi, and will dry out causing the track gauge to change ever so slightly. So, bottom line........ ride it within that time period.
