No. If you do this you create a DC area, now you have Justice League, Dark Knight, and Superman out of place. And this is the exact thing you're complaining about... This doesn't fix anything and is a solution to a thing that is only a problem to enthusiasts. Justice League was put out of place b/c of pure bad design. Then they tried the silly notion of the Metroplis area nonsense, which consists of 1 attraction. This would be a start to correcting horrible themed areas i the past. Mardi Gras has been essentially stripped of rides and needs retheming. They could extend consistent themes and just link previous Mardi Gras and Yankee to 1 giant DC area. Giant DC Area: Superman Dark Knight Retheme King Chaos to "Two Face" Add Zamperla Endeavor (Catwoman Whip or Lasso of Truth)to previous Mardi Gras Area Add Zamperla Hawk possibly too as it doesn't take much space Combine the above with Joker - 4D coming in 2017 Batman - V2 - paint it electric blue and call it Mr. Freeze Yankee Clipper - retheme to Penguin Slide Whilygig - relocate it to County Fair in 2018 or 19, replace with Skyscreamer themed Catwoman Whip or Wonderwoman Riddler's Revenge - Zamperla Discovery added in 2018 or 2019 in the area near the flumes/picnic area. The only DC ride out of place would be Justice League. Eventually if they takeout maybe Dark Knight in mid 2020's they could add a launch coaster extending from its' site running behind Raging Rapids. By then Raging Rapids may have run it's life cycle, so a launch coaster could take it's space with that of Dark Knight. Name the launch coaster the Flash. So 1/3 the park becomes DC Land? Yea, not happening. Also, do you think that Six Flags will shell out the extra $$$ to use ALL the DC characters? There are limits to that ya know... It's totally possible and they already have done something like it at SFOT. 7 DC themed rides in Gotham City..Batman, Batwing, The Joker, Riddler Revenge, Catwoman Whip, Harley Quinn, and Mr Freeze. It's one of the most popular areas of the park. They have 3 more DC themed rides..Aquaman Splash and Justice League both in the same area, leaving only Superman Tower not with another DC themed ride. Even the 3 rides not in Gotham City are very close by it and on the same side ofthe park. So having a large part of 1 side of the park DC themed rides is good design and theme continuity.

Sorry, you made the classic mistake of going to Kingdaka first. It rarely to never opens on time. Game plan I use is Nitro first, few people go to that side of the park to start the day Also, with them letting season pass people in before GP, you can get 1st ride of the day and usually multiple re rides without walking around before people come. Even if you have to get off and walk around, the wait is a few trains for the 1st 45 minutes of the day. El Toro at night is awesome, better than the day, I usually power ride the last 45 minutes. As you said, it's a walk on or stay on. Same opinion as you on the Joker. Bizarro is underrated and neglected by the crowds.

Anybody else think Yankee Harbor and Mardi Gars should be rethemed? The addition of the Joker in 2017 to Yankee Harbor and the loss of Ragin Cajun 2013 and now Joker's Wild ride in 2016, make the themes of both areas very weak. I suggest retheme of Yankee Harbor to DC theme around Batman. Joker - 4D coming in 2017 Batman - V2 - paint it electric blue and call it Mr.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

IMO, Cedar Point's logic on lack of official Mean Streak announcement. I believe CP wants it done for 2017. CP has 150th anniversary in 2020 and they are already said something big is coming...ie....GIANT NEW COASTER. Coaster in 2017 and then 2020 would be the ideal plan. RMC may have told CP when taking on the MS project that b/c of the size and what they are doing they can't guarantee it opening on time for 2017. If everything runs without problems and they make good progress in the fall, it can happen. I think the announcement will come in December/early January whether 2017 or 2018 based on the progress at that point. It's better to under promise and over deliver. If they announced it now and then it gets delayed many will have a fit and CP will get lambasted Also, I think CF may be looking at changing their coaster strategy, They have gone the last 5 years or so with 1 big coaster per year in the chain. This RMC of MS may signal them utilizing RMC to start having 1 new coaster and 1 RMC conversion a yr. Doing RMC's will cut the backlog in parks getting coasters. RMC conversions are price effective at 7 -10M each. CF parks have many worthy candidates for RMC. -

Six Flags in Saudi Arabia
eugenecd replied to LeoBruz199's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There really isn't a need for SF to add a Midwest park. There really isn't a worthy market, that is untapped IMO to justify the expense. A new park is very expensive to start and their aren't any parks worth aquiring in the midwest. To have a successful park you need it near a major city metro or make it so incredible for people to make the trek to it. They have parks in Chicago, Stl, the 2 biggest midwest markets. It would be foolish to try to go into Ohio, with CP and KI,they would not spend the money to build a ride lineup to compete with either b/c it would cost to much and not be a good ROI. People in Michigan have many smaller park choices and a major city like Detroit is just 2 hours from CP. Kansas City has WOF and isn't killing it with virtually no competition, One might gather there isn't a major demand beyond what WOF provides. SF could actually make Stl better, but maybe they haven't pumped money into it b/c they don't see the ROI in the market. -
Six Flags America (SFA) Discussion Thread

Time is not an issue. Originally thinking 7-10 days total trip. I have done Colonial Williamsburg in the past as well as BGW, both some years back. I have never been to KD or SFA and was going to hit them on a weekday during the march/april school break. I was thinking 1 day at SFA and 1 at KD. The rest of the trip will be museums, monuments, sights, etc.. I love museums and can easily spend a day in each Smithsonian and be thrilled. My main question was the crowd levels at SFA during the break. -
Six Flags in Saudi Arabia
eugenecd replied to LeoBruz199's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, I for one, even though I freaking live here, am totally against this. And this is coming from a coaster enthusiast. For starters, the amusement park industry here is intensely packed. The sheer number of FECs in malls is ridiculously high, so kids/families are pretty much taken. And they're not very small, either. As for teens, there's already three parks which cater to them (or should I say, us) (Also, I mentioned them in my "Theme Parks in Saudi Arabia" post) but each one has their own problems. Speaking from personal experience, these parks are all for "Families only", which would suggest that you're only allowed to go with your family, but what that really means, is that guys on their own aren't allowed in. Not even if you're, say, alone with your dad, they won't let you in, period. They have a "Women's night" once a week, but not the other way around. And that is mainly due to the fact that there have been a lot of reported incidents of vandalism when they have tried having a male-only night once a week. And this is really the only reason why I'm only hitting up theme parks once every two months-ish, instead of once every two weeks. I know Six Flags is an American company and all, but I'm sure the government will apply this to SFJ, too. And that is what would ultimately destroy it, because the teenager demographic is their target audience, and these regulations would just alienate them from being able to go. And even if it means they have to drag their families with them to go, then it'll only be for one time EVER, since the average Saudi family would only go to a theme park together really rarely. The worst part is, that if this turns out to be a flop, then that will impact the rest of the investments for the other parks in the franchise, which means less good years like 2015 and more bad years like 2017. Finally, I just hope that they end up scrapping the project, since it'll probably do little to no good. I'm sorry if this feels more like an essay than a forum post, but this is kinda serious, so.... Haven't read up on the deal yet. But, the point about a flop affecting other investments for SF, may not be true. The other non North American SF parks under construction are really license deals. They use SF name and pay consulting, admin. management fees, etc.. The money for 4.5Billion per China parks is not SF Corporate's money being invested. -
Six Flags America (SFA) Discussion Thread

I want to take a spring vacation and throw in a SF park or CF park. Looking thru SFOG, SFOT threads they seem packed during break. What's SFA like during the break? Thinking of hitting the DC museums and national mall, since I haven't done that in a while. Possibly throw in a SFA and/or Kings Dominion. -

This is laughable. Both SF and CF parks have some good things to eat, along with bad. You just have to know what to get, which may take some trial and error or recommendations from people. -
There is not much around that area so they can get away with $70, which is what you can get a SF pass for at most parks and go to any other SF. Darien Lake has a captive market, no real competition. When something is "a steal" it means that it's a great bargain. If you think $70 is a high of a price for a park with an Intamin hyper, a waterpark that's included with admission and 7 other coasters then you're insane. Just because Six Flags whores out their season passes doesn't mean other parks should be judged by their price points. They gouge people once they're in the parks, most parks make a large portion of their money up-front. They have entirely different models. You're full of vinegar over nothing. It's a simple fact they have no competition. Please stop the hyperbole on their coaster line up. It consists of things such as 35 yr old Arrow Dynamics, a 24 yr old Dinn wood coaster , 2 Vekoma's about 20 yrs old. The last coaster was a Zamperla family coaster in 2008. They have 2 decent coasters the Intamin and the suspended Vekoma, neither is great, just decent compared to other coasters in the country.

Don't they have several rides in on site storage. If the money is tight for new rides, they might need to consider pulling stuff out of storage. Last word is they have Batman the Escape, Intamin Stand up in storage for SF Astroworld, which was originally at SFMM as Shockwave. Also, they supposedly removed the UFO for restoration in 2013 and never brought it back.
