Can't argue with this either. Thunderbird was in fact awesome! I would love a Fury 325 type layout with the wingrider. It would be the closest we get to having a Maverick besides I305. -

but a B&M wing rider seems the most likely. Unfortunately, I think KD will end up with one...Cedar Fair is ridiculously predictable these days You would love a launched wingrider though... I rode Thunderbird last month and it was amazing! -

Would love to see a Mack launcher like Helix, but a B&M wing rider seems the most likely. Still praying for an RMC though. -

Is there a strong chance of us getting a coaster in 2017? #ZizCW #OhCanada I thought both were supposed to get one in 2017? -

I've ridden Thunderbird at Holliday World. What makes it by far the best wingrider is not only the launch, but the way it interacts with the woods and its near miss elements. I would love something like Thunderbird at KD near Hurler and Grizzly. -

http://www.latimes.com/travel/themeparks/la-trb-cedar-fair-coasters-20150827-story.html Don't expect a front gate coaster, just a remodeling. I think their next coaster is going to be secluded in the woods to go along with their family friendly concept. -

The thing is I don't know where they could put a b&m ride at... maybe a removal of blue ridge tollway? They could put the ride literally anywhere. Parks in general, and Kings Dominion specifically, are never "out of room." There are always things that can be done, area to expand, etc. If they have a few hundred square feet for a station, they have room for a coaster. People thought there wasn't enough room for a new coaster at Cedar Point after Mantis, and guess what... they built Millennium Force. There's tons of unused land in the back of the park. I could totally see a B&M working with the woody terrain. Also, KD will never remove the tollway. They want to keep the family aspect of the park. -

^^ Sounds like you had a great time! It's too bad you couldn't ride Rebel Yell. It's a severely underrated wooden coaster. Will provide great ejector airtime. Also, I can agree that KD's entrance and landscaping are phenomenal! Reminds me of Holliday World a bit. As for the speculated future, the one problem I see with a B&M hyper is that it would be too similar to Apollo's Chariot. I think a wingrider with a Fury type layout plus inversions would be sweet. Also I's rather see it with the woody terrain in the back than copying other Cedar Fair parks in the front. It would work with the feel of Kings Dominion. -

Kennywood needs to bring back their drop tower. Not sure why they removed it for Black Widow. -

Where could they possibly fit a new coaster? Isn't there some unused land towards the front? -

I wonder if we're getting Knott's Screamin' Swing next to Delerium. I'd rather have that then a slingshot. -

I'm really glad that the food is getting an upgrade. The one and only thing I loved about Carowinds besides Fury was that their food tasted amazing, even on the level of Disney (but not quite Dollywood). -
Carowinds Discussion Thread
madmax replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
One thing I REALLY think Carowinds needs to improve on is park appearance. It's not terrible; but it's not on the same level as Canada's Wonderland or Kings Dominion. I feel they need to put in more brick pavement and alter the landscaping. -

Kings Dominion is a mid-level park, along with Carowinds and Knott's (year round attendance is irrelevant). It's attendance is enough to warrant a coaster every 5-7 years, instead of 3-4 like the high-level parks. Not sure what KingMoron is taking about. Also Kings Dominion destroys Carowinds when it comes to park appearance and theming. -

One thing I really do love about Kings Dominion is that it doesn't look of feel like the run-of-the-mill Cedar Fair park like others in the chain do. The landscaping is fantastic, the park is mostly surounded by trees (probably why it's so hard to see if from the highway), it's very compact and family-owned felt, there are actually themed areas instead of primarily theming sprinkled throughout the park (okay not Busch Gardens level but much better than the norm of Cedar Fair theming)... It feels more like a family-owned park to me than a park belonging to a mega-corporation. Also, in most of Northern Virginia the KD law is no longer relevant, so they start August 31st. -

There's zero percent chance of 2017 or 2018. 2019 at the earliest. -

+Cedar point Cedar Point is probably getting nothing except maybe a few new family rides in 2017, unless Cedar Fair is that much of an @$$hole. -

I think there's a very high chance that both Kings Dominion and Canada's Wonderland could be getting a coaster in 2017.
