I have been a pass holder for the last 5 seasons and did not get an email either. I need to send them an email and ask them why. I will post once I find out why. You would think they would want ALL of their season pass holders to be invited. Its more of a training day then a season pass preview, in years past they had an employee preview night so the ride operators could get used to running the rides with people but this year they decided to try this.

That would make them want to open the park, light crowds! Valleyfair opens next week, they aren't going to change their opening day at the last minute. Patience. I doubt they change their opening date anytime soon the third weekend in may makes perfect sense due to high schools getting out in june and college students ending that week, I could see them going to weekend only operations for the first two weekends in may

So I got to ride all the new slides this morning and I have to say I think they are the perfect fit for Valleyfair. My favorite of all of them are the two twisting drop ones you go so fast down and around the curves. The two straight down drop pods are complely different than the two blue ones surprisingly. I can't wait to ride them again when it is a little warmer out and not rainy and overcast

I had that issue last year when I visited. I ended up talking to some employees and they mentioned that it was because some days the park only has one maintenance electrician those days and he has to go around to all the rides. The other thing that happened when I was there and mamba took forever to open was employees doing more then one test run with multiple employees which is against Standard operating procedure

Main difference I see is that fireworks are now only Fridays/Saturdays in July and not every night like last year, They must be trying to save money or had complaints from neighbors

They sent out an email to some of the rides employees and lifeguards asking for test dummies basically it is going to be riding the slides over and over all day because each slide needs to be commissioned a certain number of times by park employees before they can be opened to the public

The new slides are going to start testing on Thursday!
