  1. Being a fan of RCT, running an amusement park has seemed appealing to me (eventhough I am very aware it is completely unrealistic.) Despite it being nearly impossible, how much money would I need to build/buy an amusement park on the scale of Indiana Beach or Holidayworld? For a cheaper alternative, how much money would one need to put up to attract enough investments? Thanks for the answers because I know this post may seem a tad silly.
  2. Thanks for the links, but I still need more information before I feel safe downloading CS onto by computer. I also still need to know how to do it and if any programs are needed.
  3. I have never used CS in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, but after seeing a few parks that use it, I see that it can make make my parks much better. Before downloading it I have many questions. Is CS safe to download? What website is the best place to get CS? Do you need to download any programs to use CS? How do you get CS into your game? Will too much CS slow down your game or computer? Thanks for the help. I apologize if this has already been brought up, but searching "custom content" gave me over 150 pages to look through. Sorry for any inconvenience.
  4. I have always been a history buff and have been fascinated with old-fashioned amusement parks. As a child, Cedar Point was always a great place for me because of the rich history mixed with fun thrills. Sadly, in the last two decades Cedar Point began removing many attractions that made it such a great place. Each time we came, another old favorite would be gone. White Water Landing's removal was especially angering for me. After reading this article www.ohio.com/blogs/airtime/airtime-1.489637/cedar-point-removing-turnpike-cars-and-sir-rub-a-dub-s-tubs-1.569265 I felt it was the last straw. I decided that me and my family needed to find a new place to go that mixed thrills and history, the way Cedar Point once did. The only problem was I did not know which amusement park would fit what I was looking for. Does anyone know of any parks (preferably in the US) that preserve their history, while still offering many fun rides and attractions the whole family can enjoy.
  5. Suppose you were given a time machine that could give you one day at any amusement park from the past. Which one would you chose to go to? The decision for me would be very tough. Riverview, Euclid Beach, and Willow Grove would be on the top of my list. However I might also choose one of the Coney Island Parks. Of all the great parks that stand no longer, picking just one would be a struggle. What are your thoughts?
  6. Of all the amusement park games, which one is the best and why?
  7. I found this website that sells movies about old parks called http://www.amusementparkmemories.com/index.htm I am not sure if this site is real or just a scam. Has anyone bought anything here before and be willing to verify if the purchase is safe? I would hate to get my credit card stolen or spend $20 on a movie that never arrives. Thanks for the help!
  8. White Water Landing at Cedar Point and Goofy's Barnstormer at Disney World (which is still there, but has been re-themed) are the only ones I can think of.
  9. I am trying to find information on very early coasters that lasted much longer than almost all roller coasters their age. I would like to see if anyone had more or different information than I have. The Leaps the Dips (1902) in Lakemont Park is currently the oldest operating in the world. From what I have found, it has had this record since 1975 when the Little Scenic (1896) at Willow Grove Park was demolished. Does anyone know if any coasters older than 1896 lasted longer than 1975? Also, does anyone know who held the record before the Little Scenic? The Mountain Scenic (1905) at Willow Grove Park was the possibly the third oldest at the time of its destruction in 1975. Did any coasters from 1902-1905 last beyond 1975. The final very early rollercoaster I have information on is the Jack Rabbit (1910) at Idora Park. At the time its closer in 1984 were there any rollercoaster older than it (excuding Leaps the Dips.) Today the second oldest operating roller coaster in The Scenic Railway (1912) at Luna Park. My final question is, did any coaster built between 1905-1912 last beyond 1984. Thanks for any help and information, I really appreciate it.
