  1. "Sources"? Is she affiliated with Six Flags in any way? I'm not sure. She didn't tell details of her source. I will ask her next time I see her. Her source should probably tell Dave and the park directors that she has confirmed an RMC conversion for 2017. They'd probably like to know so that they can get ready with the planning. Oh, and someone had posted a screenshot from the Fright Fest teaser site with the words 'End of Boss'. Dave said that the people who just throw those sites together are over in Texas and have no idea what parks are adding each year. They just try to find something catchy to put. LOL! I will see her tonight and will ask her where she got this information from.

  3. I have to say HHFan, we love JLBFM! It is a great addition to our park!!! Another friend of mine who is a coaster enthusiast told me her sources have "confirmed" an RMC conversion to our park for 2017. Has anyone else heard this???
  4. Agree with the dining passes. They've added more places including the funnel cake stand finally. Will be glad when we can use them at all the parks. Defiantly worth the money as much as we go!!! Are you talking about the funnel cakes stand right before the entrance to Studio Backlot? Because funnel cakes have been available for snacks there for months now with the dining pass. Or you can pay $2 extra and get a funnel cake sundae. Six Flags just never updated the PDF listing the available snacks. But it's available -- had many calories as a result! Yes from what I gathered it will include the stand near the back lot. But really? Funnel cakes were available for this years dining passes! I knew about the cotton candy for an extra $2. Good to know...thanks! You can get cotton candy with the dining pass at the stand by tidal wave without paying the extra $2. Great...thanks!
  5. I agree with you. Most of us on this forum are enthusiast, thus we've been around on many style coasters. But for the GP, Fireball (as well as Boomerang when introduced) were "new" rides SFSTL. Most in St. Louis and neighboring states don't travel far to amusement parks and SFSTL is as close as they ever get to thrill rides. I believe we are one of the parks to host a convention this year. I'm hoping the build up to the Chicago area is leading to something great to come soon, perhaps by expanding by Tidal Wave. I'm still hoping for a RMC Boss within the next few years as well.
  6. I do remember him saying that several pages back. I believe the words were "I can guarantee you'll be able to ride it next year." But some articles have stated Fireball is going where it currently is. Perhaps they're moving it? He did state the above a few pages back. Maybe they re relocating the Rush Street Flyer. The Fireball would look nice in Rush Street's current place next to Boomerang for more color.

  9. Please don't leave HWFan. I enjoy this forum for your posts, pictures and keeping us "informed'!
  10. I ran into Dave (park president) today and tried my best to get a bit more out of him. No luck....lol But I'm pretty sure we are getting a superloop. I want to say about the Justice League, absolutely no problems today! My sons and I rode several times and no down time at all. Also having the 8th car added (from Texas) has really help with wait time quite a bit! We really enjoy this ride and glad to see the "bugs" worked out!!
  11. I gather from your hint SFSTL may be down to eight roller coasters for a year or two before a new coaster is installed. How far in advance does Six Flags (in general) plan for "new" attractions? Three years ahead? Four or five?
  12. The doors have all stayed open on every ride I've been on at the SFSTL location. That is why I questioned it. I've ridden ours 6 times on different days. I think that adds to the screens not seeming clear and bright like they were at SFoT. If that solves the issue then it would make it much more enjoyable. I swear that I never knew that Flash and Wonder Woman were in that fight scene on our version due to the washed out screens. I've ridden the Justice League ride at SFSTL several times. Lately its had a lot of issues. Rode it twice this past Sunday and it stopped both times right in the middle of the ride. But when it works @ 100%....it is awesome! The doors do open and close in between scenes. And there is a scene where the Flash runs around and there is the 4-D effect with wind and flashing lights. My kids and I absolutely love this ride and hope they will fix those "bugs" for good!
  13. When I travel, I try to save the "funnest" park for last if I hit multiples. I didn't like WOF much. We have season passes to SFSTL and go often. I would suggest looking at each web-site to see which park may "entertain" you and your family the most based on your "likes". As far as flash passes at SFSTL, I say no. They are way expensive and you can get everything in (usually) in a day if you stay all day, including water-park (free with admission). I will say our longest line is the Justice League ride. Usually an hour or better wait. So plan all day if you want to ride 2 or 3 times. When I travel, I usually look for 2 or more day deals to make sure my family has time to ride everything in the park (maybe a couple times or in case maybe park closes due to weather). Check into a Thrill Pass for SFSTL. About the same price as a gate ticket (don't know what discounts you have found). But now you can spend as many days as you want until the end of September. Hope this helps! Enjoy your vacation!
  14. You haven't been to very many Six Flags parks I take it? I'll gladly drive right past the park (it's less than 2 hours away) to go to a better one that's farther away I think you're being too hard on the park... I have been to MANY Six Flags parks, and when my wife and I went to SFStL, we really enjoyed it. No, it's not comparable to Silver Dollar City (which isn't a SF park), but I thought it was at least as good as WoF (which also isn't a SF park) back when we went to both on the same trip. That being said, it was back in 2003, so maybe SFStL has deteriorated, and WoF has improved. But I did enjoy SFStL back then. Certainly, it didn't seem much worse from the overall park experience perspective, than any other SF park. It was actually a lot nicer than SFMM, from that standpoint! I CAN understand getting bored with the park as a local, however, as I know in Michigan we are all tired of how MiA stagnates year after year while other parks in the chain get sizable improvements. But I feel like that is a different issue than whether the park's appearance, and experience is solid. (And, FWIW, SFStL then, was better than MiA is now, so you have that going for you! ) '"" I have to agree with you on some being too hard on the park. Each to their own based on "wants and needs". Living here in St. Louis, I appreciate having "more" to do for my money with having little ones. Just came back from Branson today. Loved Outlaw Run! I've been on Powder Keg and Wildfire years prior. My family and I have visited many other Six Flags...going to SFGA (Chicago) often. My son under 54" has more to ride here than many other SF parks. And unlike Silver Dollar City and White Water, SFSTL has the theme and water park all in one. Of course I want a giga, mega or RMC coaster here. But being an amusement park loving family, I appreciate what we have not having to travel far when I don't have to. I didn't care for WOF. On this note, my sister took her family to Cincinnati to Kings Island, they didn't like it at all. Said they perfer SFSTL any day over Kings Island. And this was before Justice League was added.
  15. I agree with you, JLBFM is the best dark ride in the MidWest. My kids and I love it! As far as SFSTL heading in the diection of being a "Family park"...I have mixed feelings. My kids ( ages 18 to 6) and I had the chance to finally ride Goliath (SFGA) and OutLaw Run (SDC) this year. OMG....LOVED them both! Would LOVE to see an "Iron Boss" after these experiences! But the the other important thing to me besides thrills is my 2 younger sons (one FINALLY hit 54" this year) being able to ride. When we visited SFGA (New Jersey), SFOG (Atlanta) and SFGA (all with in the last 2 years) my younger two were "limited" to the "main attraction" rides....which is what we mainly ride. One thing I appreciate about SFSL is my kids being able to ride more at 48". With all that being said, the design of these new coaster trains/restraints, has allowed those 48" to ride now instead of being 54" which is awesome!
  16. Myself having been to Disney and Universal Studios, I did really enjoy our new ride JL:BFM though I thought there was a few spots that could have had a bit more happening. Example: when we enter into LL HQ. But I'm one of those people who is always appreciative of having an amusement park just 30 minutes away. But over all, this ride is defiantly a TOP attraction. I went on Gold Pass day and this past Sunday. The queue line stayed crazy long the enter day! And we have to realize, most St. Louisians and Mid-westerners have never experienced a Disney/US type ride so the JL is totally AWESOME to them! My baby sister being one who just doesn't travel thought the ride was the GREATEST invention...LOL The ride is most def a great addition to our park! My boys love it. We rode it 7 times already....many times getting off just to get right back on.
  17. The first weekend of April, aka, Easter. I tried to look at the hours, but it wasn't working, but I think theyre only open on weekends in April-may, with full hours in summer. I think the best days to go would be on a sunday, as kids have school the next day. The park opens April 3rd. I don't know the full schedule yet for 2015 either, but summer hours usually start about a week or two before Memorial day running through mid-August. And then going back to weekends only.
