  1. Sorry to change the subject, but a relative just sent me this- did anyone else see this article? What do you think about it? http://kstp.com/news/power-tower-lawsuit-valleyfair-ride-operator-erik-bedaux-sues-sands-worldwide/4547989/
  2. Looks like under the "Special Events" tab there's two "adult night" events. Have those ever been done before?
  3. I wish I was coming back to Rides this season, but I don't really see it being possible due to some prior experiences. However, I also plan on applying for Live E (I'm auditioning, but also filling out a tech application just in case). But if none of the departments I'm hoping for work out, I'll still be back as a guest.
  4. Call me crazy, but I think we'll get a Winterfest within the next few years.
  5. My guess would be they did so because of people on the ride. Spinning around at 40 mph and hitting a tree branch with your leg probably wouldn't be super fun. Looks like they may be working on the entrance/exit walkways.
  6. Do you know what the issue was? Or why a TL or supervisor had to be there? (Not trying to say you're wrong or attack you, I'm just genuinely curious because every time I rode it there were never issues but there usually was a TL or supervisor there)
  7. Hey everyone, took two Haunt trips this weekend. If you're interested, I wrote a blog post: https://livelaughlovee13.wordpress.com/2016/09/25/haunt-weekend-sept-23-and-24/
  8. Yup, it was an absolute mess. I got off at 4:00 (right when it started) and came back in at about 4:30 as a guest and it was crazy. The puddles near High Roller in Planet Snoopy were ankle deep and the mulch by trees was everywhere. The midway was flooding, and it looked like sewers were backing up. The walkway by bumper cars was also flooded, and near Xtreme Swing was so bad it was barricaded off. I was talking to a guest who said they were back by Renegade and the puddles were at least 2 inches deep (and kids were swimming in the puddles). MNRV Railroad's track was also partially underwater. Here's a couple I took after work yesterday.
  9. Wouldn't shock me at all. I actually think a Windseeker would be more likely than a Gertslauter Sky Fly/ Sky Roller. I don't think they would put the same ride at Nickelodeon Universe in at Valleyfair. The Windseeker couldn't be over 275 feet though. I think if it were to go somewhere, it would go in Wild Thing's helix. That's where I could see it going too! Or if the rumor of enterprise going away for a year and being relocated in the park is real, I could see it going near there.
  10. Call me crazy, but I could see us getting something like a Windseeker (or maybe just some other flat ride) up by Route 76.
  11. Happy Opening Day everyone! I hope anyone who is going out to the park this weekend enjoys it and is excited for the season to come. What's everyone most excited about? I'm excited to be working in the park and to be able to go back and watch the Live Entertainment shows. It's gonna be a great season of new memories, friends, and rides!
  12. I was at the Orientation! Can't wait for location training on the 30th! I was there too on Sunday for orientation! It definitely solidified the idea of working there and I can't wait. It was awesome to see the park coming back to life, and now I'm super excited for training on May 1st! I think I talked to you afterwards. Are you in admissions? That's what I'm doing, lol. I'm in rides, so I'm not sure if we talked or not! And I also have not gotten my ID yet, but I assume we will at location training!

  14. I feel like with High Roller getting new trains, the ride is going to lose its originality (just my unpopular opinion). I'm liking everything the park is doing in the off-season though... Did anyone else see Subway is replacing Ben and Jerry's?! Also, I'll be working in the park this summer, so maybe I'll see some of you around. The season is getting closer!
  15. I have a group interview for Ride Operations tomorrow and I'm sort of nervous... Any suggestions? What are the group interviews like? What's being a ride operator like? Can you pick your hours? And I also have another job opportunity this summer and once it comes down to it, I can only choose one. I'm leaning towards the other one, but I still want to do this interview incase it doesn't work out. If I decide on the other job and VF accepts me, will they be mad if I call and say I got a different opportunity? That one is only until the end of July, but I don't know if VF would be flexible enough to just work weekends until August. It's a long story so feel free to ask me more questions and answer mine on this, or a DM on Twitter. Thanks in advance!
  16. (Wow, I haven't been on here in FOREVER!) As someone who avidly watches Live Entertainment at Valleyfair, I am quite sad to see the Galaxy not being used. With that being said, this year's lineup seems to be more focused on walkway shows, and maybe I'm the only one, but I am really excited to see this years shows.
  17. I actually thought the storyline/idea was pretty unique and it was kind of creepy (in an odd way), but it didn't have the scare potential most people expect in Haunt, so I wish it would've been more in your face. I've heard from someone that High Roller was affected by the fire? But I'm not sure how legit that it.
  18. If anyone wants to read about my Haunt experience last night (with Skeleton Key), here it is: https://livelaughlovee13.wordpress.com/2015/09/27/haunt-september-26th-review/
  19. If anyone cares, Haunt info is up (both day and night!). 2 new attractions: Human(e) Habitat (replacing Camp Wekilou) and Trails End. New location for Hellside (Soak City) and Chateau (the nice new building we all know). Plus 2 new shows and one returning one, Skeleton Key, and a pretty terrifying line up for the night! Daytime stuff for (mostly) the kiddos sounds pretty good too.
  20. I'm curious: is anyone on here doing Coaster Campout?
  21. I was around from 10-3 today. Crowds started very minimal, but by noon the park was packed. Rode some rides to look at Haunt stuff, walked a stroll with Street Beat (yay friends!), and went to the waterpark. All rides by noon had really decent sized lines. In Soak City I noticed some yellow and white paint all over the sidewalks, some with "exit" and whatnot- not sure what it's about since I haven't been to SC this season until today (is there a Haunt attraction going back there?). Such a busy Saturday!
  22. So reading 'between the lines' on Quimet's statement I interpret it as; 'If you build new attractions people show up to check them out.'. Weird. Funny how that works out. What are you getting at? It's a press release. Anyways, good money says it's a haunt building being built. Also, what is "Dinoslaughter?" Dinoslaughter was a Haunt scare zone in Dino's Alive on the walk back to the two Haunt attractions London Terror and Camp Wekilou. It was basically a few cavemen screaming like cavemen and slowly running at you- not scary if you ask me.
  23. I agree, or if it does come back, I hope it steps it up big time from last year- it was (in my opinion) basically a joke. Isn't this the 10th year of Haunt at VF? That's what I've heard, so if it is, I hope they make it great.
  24. Wild West? Hmm.. Interesting.. Wonder what that will be. New Haunt? I can't wait for the Haunt announcements!
  25. I just saw that tweet too... Is it actually leaving or are they saying goodbye because speculation? I would like to go on it if it is closing, but an announcement would be nice.
