Worth noting that Enterprise could be plopped down in any number of locations taking up a lot less space than it does now, say the Wild Thing turnaround, the old Scrambler or Tiltawhirl spots, the old Corkscrew Tot Spot to name a few. There's a lot of empty land on all sides of it now. They might not know if they are going to refurbish it or not per the prior rumor, basing it on guest reaction, available funding, how bad of condition it turns out to be in when they tear it apart, what kind of bids they get for refurbishment, etc. So for now they're just saying it's gone. -

As far as Enterprise going bye-bye, is it more an excuse to get rid of an aging ride with low ridership, or becauese Enterprise isn't really an efficient use of the space? -

Where do you suggest they put one? The DInos aren't going anywhere until the contract is up As far as we know, the permit to toothpick Excalibur and fill in the swamp in the back hasn't been approved The aren't going to spend a zillion dollars to move a zillion things around inside the park when these locations will become available in a few years. -

If they want to move the fudge shop someplace I'd suggest that consolidating candy / coffee / and fudge into one side at the entrance gate and souvenirs on the other, or else Depot Refreshments doesn't seem to get a lot of use and they don't always bother even opening it. -

Not as awful as the present situation with Valleyfair not having one. Such a thrill to get to ride one at Kings Dominion. -

Wonder if Enterprises location could be used for a permanent haunt structure. Maybe that's why we haven't seen construction yet even though they pulled a permit? The entire path down to Steel Venom they leave the lights on and don't really decorate. Is that supposed to be an unofficial safe zone, or do they just not give it much attention since it's a dead end. -

Much as I like RipTide I do see a lot fewer people riding it since the waterpark expansion. The Wave and Thunder Canyon probably fill the "get wet in my street clothes when it's a bazillion degrees out" function. Wondering if the rumor is true that Riptide is leaving and SuperCat will be refurbished and something's going on with Bumper Cars if it's something big involving that whole area. Is there another Cedar Fair coaster they could use Excalibur cars on if they remove it after spending money refurbishing it? -

I'd say the markings would be a more permanent security checkpoint rather than a new coaster. -

Now that they're doing bag checks... Do they care if you bring in empty Naglene type water containers? I don't have a problem with drinking their water so I don't need to bring my own in, but I absolutely hate trying to sip out of a drinking fountain. -

Is the security checkpoint at the front going to be a permanent thing now? If so might make sense to rebuild the front gate area to have walk through metal detectors in a permanent structure. -

I get the 'hops' but...'hot dish'? Is this BBQ? Or Buffet? Or.....? Just curious, thanks. If you live anywhere but the Midwest, it's called a casserole. Yeah, I got excited there for a moment. We're going to Minnesota next month, and I always like to try a local delicacy, like Chicago hot dogs or Cincinnati chili. But when I googled "hot dish," yeah, just a casserole made with canned soup and canned vegetables.... But while on this subject, when I'm in Minnesota, is there a local food that's great? We'll be most of the time in the Twin Cities, but we're taking a side trip to Duluth. I guess they should have a lutefisk feed. -

Frazier is on record of liking it. If they didn't like it they would have just had the contractor scrap it rather than moved it out back. -

See if the Little Log House Pioneer Village wants it (They took the old Cottage View Drive-In sign)? None of the neon museums I contacted replied to my emails. -

Looks like you're right, they advertise the "Great Pumpkin Fest" as Saturday and Sunday, but looks like the two full program mazes and the monsterless Chateau are only open on Sundays. -

Does anyone know when the daytime hours of Chateau end? I'd like to see it once, but it was closed when I got there at 6:30 on Saturday. -

So some parks have a separate ticket for the Haunt separate from daytime admission. Which ones, and is there any speculation why the difference? -

My try at what haunts are at what parks Notable: At least four parks have: Toys, Voodoo, and Wax Museum, and Witches but ValleyScare does not. And Knotts Scary Farm has by far the most unique mazes. The Knotts Tooth Fairy maze (which morphs into savage dentistry as you go on) would seem to be one that would push a lot of people's buttons. Things I witnessed this weekend: Two teenage girls taking a selfie with a clown. He politely posed for the picture and then scared them once they had taken it. Monsters in Ghillie suits and Mannequin Guy getting people that had let their guard down because they were outside the Scare Zones on their way to out to the front entrance. Mannequin Guy chasing a teenage girl an entire lap around the midway. Teenage guy came wearing kneepads or something. He thought it would be fun to scare me so he slide towards me and then jumped over the Blood Creek fence. I saw him coming a mile away and security saw the whole thing and yelled at him big time. -

That's really interesting. I don't go in the mazes, but find it interesting that some last forever and some are gone after only a couple of years? Is this based attendance, or are some concepts considered core and some rotating. Chateau has been around forever and now they even built a permanent structure for it, but Weikillou didn't last long at all. It's probably a fair characterization that Valleyfair has a decent flat ride and kids section, and amount the worst roller coasters and waterpark in the chain. Is there a characterization of Valleyfair's haunt relative to the others? Is the move to permanent haunt locations something that's coming from the top, or specific to Valleyfair? Can't wait to get off work so I can go back tonight. Renegade at Night and Corkscrew and Power Tower with the fog. -

I can see it lasting a few years, but on the other hand it's not like they're sticking a bunch of money in. How much does it cost to demolish the stage (which would have to be done anyway no matter what goes there) and build a couple of skateboard ramps? Maybe still the spot for a dark ride in a few years. It's Knotts Scary Farm kind of the flagship for the Haunt, not Cedar Point? I saw a bunch of YouTube Videos on it, and it looks like they had some cool mazes. -

I saw the Chateau, Hellside, Zombie High, and Bloodshed on the "Great Pumpkin Fest". Chateau and the Corn Maze (Hellside?) are listed as "mild", and Zombie and Bloodshed are "not for children". I was going to ask Frazier if I could see Chateau some time, but it looks like I can just go earlier on a Saturday, or a Sunday. Does this mean that they're letting people go through the Hellside and Chateau without the monsters and Zombie and Bloodshed still have them? Or are some of the props in the latter two something that might scare children?
