spoiled much, can't wait till 2017? yup me too. i still need to make a road trip to knoebels next year anyway. Might aim for hershey and kennywood while i am at it. Are they going to do anything like fix the rest of wilde beast, or fix the minebuster which is going from YORO (you only ride once) to DERO (don't even ride once) just like the leafs, Ya gotta believe ... -

Olympia Looping (Cranger Kirmes 2015)

I still will never forget that on one of our tours we managed to rent out Olympia Looping for an hour before the Wurtzburg Fair opened. Over half of the people on our tour took one or two rides and then stopped riding because it was "too intense." I had never seen such a large group of roller coaster pussies in my life! So many people I know would kill to have an hour on that ride, and most of them just treated it as a "one and done credit." Such a waste. Next time we do ERT on Olympia Looping, I'll let you know and you can be my riding partner! let's see, about a 3 minutes ride, i might try for 20 times in a 1 hour ert, getting off only to change seats! you mean this guy right? sign me up! -

I got to ride Raptor 4 times today. what a solid coaster! it was awesome. They were running 3 train operations from the beginning, so it would appear the train wasn't hurt, and not set aside for any investigation. You wonder what was the last thing going through the guy's mind before the accident.... maybe a swiss invert train? -

raptor was back up just after 1pm. We got the first ride in the front because we had flashpass+. We saw employees search under the ride area, then do a few test runs with empty trains, then 3 with an employee in the front seat then they opened the ride up. the operators were a bit solemn but friendly and there were some executive type people watching at the exit ramp. some guy named tony too. They looked like they were trying to do the right thing. I didn't stop to talk because they had jobs to do. -

yeah, we have a backlot, but all of our special effects have been turned off, so if they work here and if there is time we will give it a spin. -

So we got to the park for an hour at the end of the day, since traffic getting here was worse than predicted. Banshee was down when we went by so we hit racer and then the beast. Racer was fun. not too crazy but decent and reasonably well looked after. It would race better if they dispatched the trains at the same time. Bartender later said you have to ask them to race the trains?!?! We got a couple of rides on the beast at sunset. since they closed at 8pm a night ride was not possible. Wow, awesome. that was a really great old wooden coaster! It bumped around a bit but i wouldn't call it rough by any stretch. It was really fast, and running through the trees was awesome! The inclined double helix after the second lift hill was crazy good. Anybody who claims it is too rough has no business riding wooden coasters. Come to wonderland and you will appreciate better what you have. We got our last rides in at 8pm and made a run for Mad Tree Brewing taproom. the food finishes at 9pm and we just made it. Had some tasty beers with dinner and brought some home to enjoy later. nice place with good beer. it was hopping when we got there at almost 9pm wednesday. Tomorrow we are back for early ert and then ride what we can before heading to cedar point. First impressions were that it was a nice clean park. pretty decent selection of coaster types for such a small park. A few of my favorite flats: Everly Monster and Huss Troika! Nice little park you have here! -

I got a hotel room at the quality suites. I think we are going to go into town to the Mad tree brewing taproom. The park closes 8pm and the taproom 10pm. I don't wan to be tempted to stay up really late since we are back at the park the next morning and then on to cedar point that afternoon. I looked at the Brazen head but the reviews suggested it had been better and was kinda crummy now. Internet is not always most reliable but who knows. Going today! anybody want to join us, should be at the park after lunch sometime. -

If it were run by maple leaf sports and entertainment they would trade all of their first round draft pics and future prospects for a long in the tooth veteran well past his prime. -

I am going next thursday night/ friday/ part of saturday. We have platinum passes and are staying on site. I am wondering if flashpass is a good idea for the friday? Somewhere i read a tr saying that even flashpass lines were an hour long at some point. Kinda defeats the purpose. don't they limit number of fp's sold? We are probably leaving before they make their announcement. Oh well i can find out later i guess. Do you get anything special for being there or just get to watch? -
Olympia Looping (Cranger Kirmes 2015)

The silhouette of olympia looping in the sunset is cool. Normally it would have it's lights on at that time. Take a few rides for me in the back row for me! I like it when the front of the train pulls you over the tops of the loops (which you get to do 5 times!) The helixes and tightly banked curves were awesome too. This is among the best coasters i have enjoyed. -

I thought i remembered 8.50 euros. but since i spent $1200 to fly there and about the same for hotel, 120 euro for the actual coaster i came all of that way for wasn't so bad. Do they run 7 car trains or just 5 for outside munich? -

The Brazenhead is only 5 minutes from the park and has 30 beers on tap! I've been meaning to check this place out, but somehow haven't got around to it yet. Head to Diamondback for ERT; you'll be able to get in about 5 rides before the park opens, and Banshee will only have a 10-15 minute wait after about 2 pm. When the park opens, head to FoF THEN Firehawk. Next head to Backlot, as that line will start getting long around 11 am. Beast's line will be pretty short until around mid-afternoon. Be sure to get a night ride on it! thanks all for the heads up on both rides and beers. I read that it is open until 8pm wednesday. I may try to leave sooner as it looks like a 6-7 hour drive. We will take advantage of the morning ERT, ride until it gets too hot/ crowded and then head to cedar point. I am guessing midsummer midweek will be moderately busy, but the ERT may help us get 'er done. I am a big fan of B&M inverts, and would rank the ones i have ridden: Batman, Montu, Talon, Great bear, so i want to ride banshee. Having Canada's Wonderland as our home park, i see a lot of similarities. It might be fun to do a report card comparing the 2 parks. Our Back lot stunt coaster runs none of it's themeing or effects, so it might be neat to se yours working. Diamondback is a similar coaster to our Behemoth with a splashdown effect. I heard the Beast may be a bit rough but is a cool night ride. We have some rough wood at home too so i can compare. you have the bat which i believe is a sister of our vortex. Vortex looks a bit bigger than dragons fyre, but old school arrow bent coathanger designed. I had been to 6flags america near DC and they had a launched premier which looks like FoF. I actually really liked it so it might be interesting indoors, and they also have a flying dutchman which looks similar to firehawk. I also love huss enterprise and the monster, so i will try to hit those too. Then we drink a bier! -

thanks for posting this. i flew to munich last year for 4 days just to ride olympia looping. It was awesome and totally worth it. I went about 15 times. Send more construction pics if you have time. Since you just got out of hospital and have nothing else to do maybe you could sit on a lawn chair with a case of beer and watch them build. Where is Crange? is it a big fair? Can you find out what other stops olympia looping is making? i had thought it was only going to do oktoberfest because it needed special permits with the TUV to go on highways because of the weight of the trailers? what other coasters are you getting Test track (doppel looping?) the Schwarzkopf fans want to know! -

My friend and i are making a trip to KI and CP Aug 12-15. We were going to drive from toronto to KI on the wednesday evening and ride and then come back on thursday morning, then we will head to cp. We both have platinum passes so we can come and go. Can anyone recommend where to stay nearby? We just need a simple hotel, nothing fancy, but not a dump. Also, I am a craft brewer and like to try local beers when i travel. Is there a pub or brewpub nearby with decent beer and food? Even a good beer distributor would be nice. Any idea what crowds will be like midweek this time of year? I figure it often slows down later on and first thing in the morning is a good time to hit a few rides before things fill up. -

Nah, B&M aren't making the forceful coasters they used to make. Send it to MA or VF. Give somebody else a chance. -

i don't mean to jump all over your post or your friends comments but, it is funny how people say: - there are not enough guests to justify investing in a new ride or - the park pulls in strong numbers without capital investments so they don't need them. so which one is it? also, they pay their wages, utilities, taxes and most supplies in $.75 cent dollars. If their debts are all in USdollars then they should have thought of that earlier. Sometimes i think that they behave like Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment who take advantage of their fans goodwill like crazy. Their wooden rollercoasters have been badly neglected over the years and are almost unridable. They fixed the first drop of wildebeast and left the rest. Minebusters lift hill track is visibly crooked and it's helix is basically hexagonal so you get bashed all the way around it. It is unrideable in anything but the front car. YORO Their food is terrible and very expensive even for theme park standards. I don't even eat the 'dippin dots. On the bright side, it is 25 minutes from my house and with a platinum pass i can pop over for an hour or two, ride some beemers and my favorite flat ride, one of the few remaining huss giant enterprises. It is a generally well kept up park apart from the actual rides. so i have mixed feelings about the place. I would love a nice new coaster close to home, but i would settle for fixing the ones they have, maybe even new trains for their slc headbanger? -

The counter should start when the previous train rolls from the station, but it doesn't until the next one comes to a stop. It also counts down from 1:00 and stops at 0:00 so when they take 5 minutes it doesn't show. I have seen pretty slow loading the 3 or 4 times i have been, but it is not seatbelt related. The maitre d' guy who fills the rows has been really slow and doesn't like letting people sit where they want to. He is often still sending people over when people are sitting in the train ready to go. Then riders seem to have trouble carrying their crap through the row and putting it in the medicine bunny, then figuring out which row they came from, wandering around, not a care in the world before they sit down, then the ride ops have to deal with the stragglers and surprise surprise it takes forever. It makes flying air canada seem like a fun experience. Maybe we can get an in flight snack? -

they should rent olympia looping for 2 years and put it where skyrider stood, and then put the new one there when they are ready.
