  1. ^^I noticed that a lot was done to the red train. New wheels, padding, and decals. So that may be what is happening to the blue train. Viper I could understand being out due to the full train decals and paint to the trains.
  2. I know that Mind Eraser and Motocoaster's second trains were broken and needed parts. My guess that RoS and Viper's other trains are getting refurbed, and Predator is only running one because this is likely its last season.
  3. DL has given up on social media. If you look on their Facebook, 8/10 comments are complaints. People are just tired of one train operations, bad maintenance, etc. Realistically, the park is doing a wonderful job besides maintaining the rides.
  4. ^Predator was a Dinn coaster, Gravity Group was just a small engineering firm at the time. Gravity Group LLC was formed in 2002, and their first official coaster was Hades, built in 2005.
  5. They didn't start building coasters until the 2000's. Before that, they mainly helped in engineering the structures of wooden coasters. Their first official project listed was in 1982, helping engineer American Eagle's structure at Six Flags Great America.
  6. Gravity Group also had done previous work when the Predator originally opened. They did structure design work.
  7. It could very well still be RMC. According to their website, they have done track work to Predator in the past.
  8. I just found sad news (to me at least). So, Predator will most likely be gone in the future. Based on the quote I found, we may not necessarily see another RMC coaster. It sounds like Herschend is even looking into companies like Gravity Group to make the transformation. If GG gets the job, there is a good chance of Timberliners on the ride. I am sad to see Predator get the axe, but I think it would be better for the park if they get a new coaster anyways. Edit: Here's the source http://www.coasterforce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=36423
  9. Why? Because of the Texas Giant incident? Outlaw Run doesn't use the same trains as NTAG and Outlaw Run has been running as usual since the incident. In your opinion, if the ride is built, do you think that seatbelts will be added? I would think so, but lap bars seem pretty safe on their own as long as the passenger correctly fits.
  10. Sorry for the double post, but I went up to the park today and looked for any clues of Lake Monster. I was tempted to ask some employees if they knew about it, but I figured that either they don't even know about it yet, or cannot say anything yet. I was exiting Viper, when I noticed that the back door of Galaxy Theater was open. Nothing big is in there, just a few boxes and pallets. Neither the UFO or Scrambler are in there. It seems like kind of a waste to keep it up, because it seems like the building doesn't serve much of a purpose anymore. If the coaster plans go through, that area seems to be a favorite for Lake Monster to get built on. (Yet again, just speculation)
  11. Wow. So do you weigh them? Put a tape measure around their waist? Ask them how heavy they are? I agree that riders that seem too big to ride should be pulled aside. Many coasters have test seats, but I have yet to see one used. Isn't the point of one to see if a rider will fit? It may seem mean, or rude, or whatever, but it is better then having someone lose their life over it. I haven't been to SFoT since NTAG has been refurbed, but does it have a test seat, and/or is there an operator at the entrance measuring guests (height wise)?
  12. I assume that based on past incidents, the investigation will be between the park, Arlington PD, and the state's amusement ride department.
  13. http://www.toledoblade.com/local/2013/07/19/One-person-hospitalized-after-water-ride-accident-at-Cedar-Point.html This article confirms that it was the first lift.
  14. I don't see why seatbelts weren't installed in the first place. I understand that it's for more airtime, but if I ran a theme park, I wouldn't want to take a chance. Accidents can happen at any time.
  15. Does anybody know if Outlaw Run has seatbelts? edit: I just looked it up, it doesn't. If the plans go through, I think that we will see seatbelts on Lake Monster.
  16. I wish that someone who actually knew how roller coasters work saw the incident, so we would have more of an idea of what really happened.
  17. ^I actually had the same idea earlier. I hope that this goes through, as we are way overdue for a new thrill coaster.
  18. An investigation may take 6 weeks or more. I don't know how strict Texas is on ride inspections and regulations, but in New York, a full investigation must be done and the ride has to be inspected before it reopens.
  19. Sometimes when a guest is too large, they may be heavy enough to break a part in the hydraulic system. The g-forces on the ride may have been a lot too, so maybe that's how the restraint "flew" open. By the sounds of the reports, she was overweight. Still, just speculation
  20. As of right now, Six Flags is replying to all of the people that keep saying things like "How?" or "Why?" that the situation is still under investigation.
  21. If anything, I think that seatbelts will be added to all Gerstlauers. That's what Six Flags did after the first S:RoS incident.
