  1. B&M Roar, Gold Striker, Gold Striker going down the mineshaft, Giant Dipper lift hill, and Arrow lift hills.
  2. Pretty pretty cars! I've only been on Sonic Spinball, and that was a LOT of fun! Yes, this may be smaller, but it has a lot of the same fun elements that Spinball has.
  3. Went to the Boardwalk today; fun day and limited operations. Not that crowded and longest wait was about half hour for Giant Dipper (one train operation). Undertow update: I saw them on the cranes doing some electrical work for the mid-course brake runs.
  4. Holy airtime Batman! Also, just like Gold Striker and many other GCIs, this thing HAULS to the end. (I still can't get over how cute little GCIs look)
  5. That 200' coaster would be really cool, and round off the coaster collection very nicely! But looking at the drawing, it seems like the last turn would get in the way of Gold Striker's Prudential Turn (I could be mistaken though). However, I disagree with the statement above. One thing that I like about CGA is the numerous flat rides. Even though they're not coasters, they're great quality fun and honestly a nice quiet break from the wonderful thrills a coaster brings (something Magic Mountain doesn't have). Plus Barney Oldfield, while it may not be the best car ride, it's still a classic and tranquil, fun family ride.
  6. ^ I do also find that humorous But I'll be at the park on May 21st and 22nd as this is during my finals week and I only have finals on Monday (yay for being a senior and AP classes!).
  7. That little train is so adorable! I just want to give it a hug! :3 And yes, this hauls through! After riding Gold Striker's double up, I can just imagine what this lightning bolt will do! GCI looks to have another winner here! I'll have to stop by whenever I'm in Florida next.
  8. Quoting my Facebook status: "What an AWESOME 7 days of the promotional shoot for the brand new Gold Striker coaster! Got a total of 54 rides during those days and it is for sure the best ride in the park and my personal best wooden coaster! Seriously, Gold Striker NAILS it! Also, I got to meet some new people. Thank you California's Great America for putting on this amazing promotional shoot! Hope you guys have the shots you needed!"
  9. "I like how Gold Striker wraps around the twirly thingy!" (Referring to the Star Tower) This was while waiting in line for Gold Striker.
  10. Another fun day on Gold Striker! While not many rides, it was still awesome! Anyone know the reason why they did so many test cycles before they let riders on? Just curious. Can't wait for tomorrow and Friday! (yay for extensions) By the way, once the queue was closed, they did a few cycles of empty trains before the last 3 trains of riders. I was on the second train of the three and the time was about 8:15; therefore, NIGHT RIDE! Night rides are just pure heaven on Gold Striker
  11. Undertow is defintiely a pretty ride. Will be interesting to see when testing will begin; should be soon! I want to ride!
  12. ^ Even with a 30 minute wait, the queue seemed to move by pretty quickly (especially when watching Gold Striker zip by you). The longest wait I suspect will be 45 min - 1 hour due to how much advertising this promo shoot is receiving. However, that time will FlY BY even if you come to the park alone. Some of the most fun I had last week was just talking to people whom I was queueing with. With the expected wait times, I'm hoping to be at 35-40 rides by the end. Will be a lot of fun! See you all there!
  13. I'll have to average 9 rides a day to reach 50! It's possible, but pushing it for sure! Cannot wait for Week 2 of Gold Striker; hope to see you all there again!
  14. Hello TPR! The past three days I was at the Gold Striker promo shoot and boy was it AWESOME! (Btw, for those reading I was the ACEer kid in the red shirt with long blonde hair -- or some of you know me as Taylor). Got to meet some new coaster friends as well as have fun with those whom I already know. Now onto the ride: I may sound like a broken record but dear lord, Gold Striker was phenomenal! The speed, airtime, and laterals were downright insane! The pacing is the best I have ever felt of ANY coaster ANYWHERE (and I've been on 81)! Got in 23 rides throughout the 3 days and want to go back for more! This ride is all I have been thinking of the past few days (well, metaphorically but close to literally ). Thank you CGA for putting on a great event and a fantastic coaster; you surely have a winner that moved up to my #1 Wooden Coaster! (sorry Giant Dipper, you're still my #2 :3 ..... don't cry... I LOVE YOU! <3) Take the *insert something related to Gold Striker/Apocalypse or tunnels here*!
