I'd say it's still possible to finish by the 29th... That's not to say it'll be easy... but very possible. I would be very surprised if they have not already installed the majority of the electrical components. The operations of the ride are not that far off from others.. simple block system. It's no 6 train Maverick. I also don't know that it takes weeks of testing... I suppose that there is some sort of minimum of successful runs, but once it gets cleared by the state it's good to go. If i remember right, when I worked at CP we had state clearing rides on the morning of opening day in 2007!

Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

Sorry for my short "meh" post on Saturday after leaving the park disgruntled. Like I said, I've been doing this for ten years now. I know what to expect on an opening day. I used to work at a park myself, I know the amount of work it takes to get everything up, functional, clean and efficient. A whole lot of work. At Cedar Point we had a dedicated team of people that would go in for clean-up week..just to clean. For a week. From scraping moss out of brick cracks, to brasso-ing the merry-go-round poles. My experience with Six Flags St Louis' opening day has been degrading with every year for the passed few. It was not just this year's. We venture down from Chicago for a taste of spring a few weeks early, and to get our coaster fix in a month sooner. The park opens pretty early, and we always loved that. I have never been to this park during normal operating season because once summer comes around I have closer and in my opinion better options. As for Saturdays visit, it was just pretty messy. Other than the main entrance the park was pretty grubby. We rode Freeze first... Where there were like five minutes between trains. Pandemonium was fine, and actually had the most pleasant interaction with employees here. Boss was closed, tried American thunder..closed. Got on Sky Screamer - we lifted up then sat there in air for ten minutes before being lowered and told to "go ride pandemonium." We waited for Screaming Eagle then it went down, and the employee announced it would be a while. ..left line.. ate cold and damp burgers from rockets that made us nauseous. After burgers we rode ninja which seemed to be operating normally...skipped batman because the line was long and we have it at "home". After this...day... In the park we went to the holiday inn to check in. walked to the gas station, bought some whiskey and watched tv before we went to bed. Maybe I am just getting too old? Haha -

We have already left the park for the day. Honestly it had to be one of the worst experiences I've had at any theme park. ..like geagua lake was better. I've been coming down from Chicago for St Louis' opening day for the last 10 years, this was just foolish. Half of the rides were not open. The ones that did open were only half functional. The burger I got from Johnny Rockets was cold and wet. meh. over it. Tradition = Broken -

I am kind of confused too.. I have a "membership" to Great America that started last summer but plan on going to Six Flags St. Louis' opening day this weekend. I am fine just using that, right? I won't have to do anything before I can get in with my pass? -
What's your favorite Flat ride?
supkarma replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I believe the name for this is "Eclipse"? There used to be one at a local indoor park here in Illinois, that didn't last long. Very intense! -

Here are some photos from the day before Heide park. Spotted it from up here.. HAD to go. Went that night.. Forgive me, we were obviously drinking beer. That doesn't equal great photos. -
Worst Coaster Ever?

http://rcdb.com/497.htm?p=763 Typhoon at Santas Village or NYNY coaster in Vegas would be my submission. -
I traveled outside of the United States for the first time a couple weeks ago. I went to Hamburg, Berlin, and Prague! Had a blast. I went to Heide park, Hamburg's DOM, and some scary place in Prague... off hand I can't even remember the name of it. These are some of my photos from Heide park, none of them are spectacular... just quick shots taken with my cell phone. Enjoy! Hey TPR! I'm Jay! - This is me and my friend Anka. I met her in high school when she was here as a foreign exchange student. It was really nice to see her again! I'm assuming this sign points to where grandmothers will help you poop. Straight out of RCT. Did I go down it? Yes. Desert Race was really awesome! Not many photos of it though... I really did not know it would be as intense as it was. I didn't prepare, and when we stormed through the first valley I thought my spine was going to eat itself. AWESOME. ..nice themeing. Beautiful park! Krake was a significant highlight of the park for me! This is my friend Dave, with Krake. Gobble. I was really worried about getting wet, it wasn't quite that warm out.. and with my luck we probably could have rolled back, and into our splash. Airtime! Gobble. Poop. Those swan boats look a bit small. SLC = Oh hell no. LIKE A LAZY BOY - In a trash compactor. K. I'm done with captions. - Lunch is over.

The "broken" keyholes won't make any difference. In fact, unless you're in front row you can't even tell you're flying through them until you're in them. - At least on X-Flight. You're in and out in less than a second. Also, with this type of drop ...back left is crazy. It really does whip you over the top on X-Flight! That said, it's really a beautful ride that adds a nice bit to the skyline. Once again - Nicely done CP.
