World famous motion picture company 20th Century Fox Corporation is rumored to make a major announcement with Malaysia's Genting Group this Friday. It was reported that 20th Century Fox will rebuild-cum-rebrand the Genting Highlands Outdoor Theme Park and will become the first ever full-scale FOX Theme Park in the world. Scheduled to open for business in 2016, at the hilltop resort of Resorts World Genting Malaysia. 20th Century Fox's most popular film franchises include Avatar, Star Wars series, Independence Day, Home Alone series, Alvin and The Chipmunks series, Ice Age, X-Men series, Fantastic Four, Die Hard series, Alien, Alien vs Predator, Planet of the Apes series, The Simpsons Movie, Night At The Museum, The X-Files series, Glee series, Minority Report, Life of Pi, The Croods, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Family Guy, Garfield, etc. 20th Century Fox is now part of 21st Century Fox which is a newly spinoff entity from the world's largest media and entertainment conglomerate News Corp. In August 2012, 20th Century Fox signed a five-year deal with DreamWorks Animation to distribute Dreamworks' films in the US and international markets. The new theme park is expected to be a major boost for Kuala Lumpur tourism.

Legoland to house world's biggest iconic Star Wars super weapon NUSAJAYA - Fans of the sci-fi movie series Star Wars will be in for a treat with the world's biggest Death Star model to be displayed at the Legoland Malaysia theme park. Made from 723,150 pieces of Lego bricks, the 6m tall model will be installed by the end of the next month.The model was designed to resemble the iconic moon-sized space station and super weapon that was first introduced in George Lucas' Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The theme park's model shop manager Stefan Bentivoglio, who headed a team of eight model builders for the project, said the Lego Miniland Death Star took 200 hours to design and will take another 1,800 hours to build and assemble. "It was designed by our Legoland California counterparts while the building and the assembling of the sphere is done entirely in Malaysia," he told The Star during an exclusive behind-the-scenes preview of the project here yesterday. He added that the sphere weighed about a tonne when completed with the installation of 135kg of stainless steel frames. "The model will even shoot laser beams accompanied with sound effects to make the Death Star come to life from the silver screen. "Hopefully, the models will be able to convert those who do not know much about Star Wars into fans," Bentivoglio said. He said that the 90 per cent completed model which is shaped like a sphere is about 2.3m in diameter and would light up at night with the help of about 10,000 glow-in-the dark Lego tiles to stay as true as possible to the one in the movie series. Four different colours of Lego bricks - white, dark grey, light grey and luminous tiles were used to build the Death Star model and would be completed and displayed to visitors by July 26 for a limited period at the Nusajaya theme park. After that, it would be dissembled and displayed at other Legoland theme parks in Denmark, Germany, Britain, California and Florida. "The model will be placed at a dedicated area of the theme park's mini land and there will also be interactive display as well as smaller replicas of popular characters from the movie franchise," he said. Other models and displays include Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader having a lightsabre duel, an X-wing fighter, the Emperor's throne room, Garbage Masher and Trench Run - all made from Lego.

our first ride..one of prime attraction of legoland,it look extreme..but its totally fun!..we are the first one to ride it on opening day! yahoo first drop was perfect,can't describe it on word.. the queue still empty,because we are the earliest person Next to the Project X is another roller coaster,dragon apprentice, a simple ride,but so much fun,it run for 2 round detailing at the entrance...impressive,those animatronic dragon teaching his son to fired,very cute! while adult waiting in line,children can play lego i will continue our trip -project x again..it so fun to ride.. whoaaaa! dragon apprentice coaster... next is TECHNIC TWISTER ,its give me headache..lol,i hate spinning ride, i've waiting this ride for a long time...this is first of it kind in malaysia.. AQUAZONE wave racer the lego octopus really impress me..so much detail.. queue for aquazone wave race.one of the most popular ride in legoland malaysia,no wonder the queue so long the submarine with project x coaster at the back street festival on opening day kids look having fun!....i wish i can play like that..the heat is buring me.. LEGO KINGDOM the forestman hideout a paradise for kids,especially who love adventures... in front of us is my favorite ride.! THE DRAGON-adult version of dragon apprentice,both coaster are on my left and right its combination of dark ride and coaster.. next to it a cafe Knight's feast,and the price..cheap and affordable
