TPR CHALLENGE: PEABODY'S LEAFY LAKE SCR73.BMP Welcome to Peabody's Leafy Lake Peabody's Leafy Lake Challlenge! Greetings fellow Park Managers! I've just returned from a long voyage... back in time. It seems that a friend of mIne, Mr. Peabody, has come up with this time machine called the W.A.B.A.C- and we decided to try it out. Well, after much noise and some strange effects, we were back in England in 1155- and there we battled against a King for the rights to his land. Using much tact, planning (And a modern Tazer!) we won the battle, and Mr. Peabody granted me the use of his lands for a theme park in the future. I told him I was busy, but I had the pefect list of candidates to do the job FOR me! Now here's the challenge to it: Mr. Peabody is a naturalist- and loves his Leafy Lake. He doesn't mind the idea of people visiting the park- but had put some strict limits onto the lake's use. in addition: There's a lot of open land that he will allow us to buy- at a price- for future expansion. THE CHALLENGE: Build up Peabody's Leafy Lake in a way that is appropriate to the area, keeping in mind the theme is MEDIEVAL. I've already setup two coasters and two tower rides for you- so no complaining. I did have to take out a bit of debt to pay for them, of course, but I'm quite sure you'll be able to pay back the debt as soon as you can. The GOALS are this: 1.) Pay back ALL of the debt (You can do this EASILY) 2.) Earn $12,000 per month in ticket revenue (I've given you 1/3rd of that right away!) 3.) Use the land wisely- and purchase the land to link the two sections of the park that are NOT linked- there's a huge square of land that you can use for that! The RESTRICTIONS are this: 1.) Mr. Peabody wants his Leafy Lake preserved for his own use- so most of the lake is NO RIDES ALLOWED. As in: You don't own the land there! 2.) No 'Non-Rideable' rides, please- so no tracketechture, etc. ALL RIDES MUST BE RIDEABLE! 3.) ALL PARK MANAGERS MUST PAY BACK THEIR DEBT. NO EXCEPTIONS THIS TIME! I've been very loose about that- but this time: There's no excuse at ALL for not paying back your debt. As always: No hacks, trainers or Cheats- I WILL be watching you. And by now, you should know better. CHEATING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! ANYBODY CAUGHT CHEATING WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THIS CHALLENGE, HAVE ALL THEIR POINTS REVOKED, AND THEN WILL BE BANNED FROM TPR PERMANENTLY. Onto the good stuff! THE PRIZES! We have WINNERS!!! I was most pleased with the turnout for this TPR challenge- and in fact, I was SO impressed... I've chosen THREE winners this time! Had I placed it along the sides of the park, it wouldn't have been nearly as great a place! I've been told there have been 26 people who have downloaded Vintage Gardens... so I'm going to throw out another carrot. A SECOND PRIZE! For the person who's park best meets what a good Crazy Park Manager's park should LOOK Like, I'll give out a TPR Bag of Crap as well- Remember, this is one that impresses me most of all! I'd really like to see what some of our Park Managers are working on right now- as I think there's going to be a lot of fun in seeing what people are doing! C.P.M.

Actually, when I bought the park, the costs for leasing Teh Big Dipper were SO high that we couldn't afford scenery- we had to be able to afford to open the park up... Thus the 'Challenge' of Vintage Gardens- use what you're given to create a park! C.P.M.

What does this mean? Does this mean you can load prebuilt tracks from the game? Recreate real coasters? I am very excited about this challenge, although I will have to get used to not using trainers! Basically: You may put in rides that you have built yourself- no importing of rides from another member (I.E. using rides from the exchange and installing them in your park is a no-no!). Recreating real coasters IS OK, though- so long as I know what your inspiration is. And yes, you'll have to play the game as Mr. Sawyer intended: Straight up, no chasers. C.P.M.

ANNOUNCING: TEH BIG DIPPER TPR CHALLENGE! Greetings TPR! As you have seen in my earlier challenges, I'm a fan of classic rides. I recently struck a deal with the Wise and Mighty Prince Desmond to lease his wooden coaster, Teh Big Dipper, for one of my parks. You see, in all reality, I'm trying to make this park really work- and having had some great managers in the past work with my parks, I wanted to see just what they could do with my next park! There's one problem, though: I seem to have spent all my money- and gone into debt to put the ride up. The costs of leasing Teh Big Dipper were excessively high- and I ran out of money to finish my latest park: Vintage Gardens. I'm so far in debt that I've only been able to put up a handful of rides, including Teh Big Dipper. And now I can't even find enough money to buy scenery and other buildings! Welcome to Vintage Gardens! SCR28.BMP Vintage Gardens- ready for you to fix up and open! Here's the challenge for YOU! In RCT II, take my park and put it in the 'Scenario' Folder, and then play the game. You are given five years to do the following objectives: 1.) Repay the debt. 2.) Get 2000 people into your park 3.) Keep the Big Dipper up and running. Here's the conditions to WIN the Scenario: You are NOT allowed to use Custom Scenery, Custom Rides, Trainers or Hacks- sorry, that's a no-no. R.D. I've been slowly reviewing the entries in this TPR Challenge- one by one, really. I can say so far: Some of you have hit the nail on the head- and have done splendidly at building my park a perfect interpretation of what I'm looking for in an Arrow Looping Coaster. Some of you have given me flawless interpretations of what Anton Schwarzkopf would have done with the same challenge... Some of you have given me a B&M clone in Arrow Track And... Some of you have given me a Vekoma clone. Keep up the good work- as every entry is impressive in it's own way. C.P.M.

Hmmm... R.D. told me there were eight entries so far. I'd really like to see more, though, as I've got quite a task to do before I install a new ride. Some really good rides in there, so far- but I want more! Robb Alvey's been generous enough to give me a Club TPR membership to hand out, as well as a T-shirt, and a TPR Bag of Crap. That ALONE should be worth it, but isn't the pride and glory of designing my next coaster ENOUGH??? C.P.M.
