  1. We will reach page 3 one day! ;D -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The new season is in full swing, and with promising developments going on across the new bought area, it looks like the park has been given a whole new lease of life. Today was particularly busy... We're nowhere near peak season yet but this is the crowd! The queue for Boomerang became a little too long at times, I heard someone say they waited nearly 30 minutes for it! The new rides are proving very popular too. I spot some work being done on the new land behind Boomerang! Since the start of the season, Longley Beach have added a new section to their website allowing us to follow the development of the new site, they have confirmed that at times the webcam will be switched off whilst secret things are put in place, but it's a nice thought from the park! The quality of the webcam isn't great, but we can see quite a bit of work is going on across the site right now! I'll post another webcam image with the next update very soon!
  2. Good Evening and Welcome, My name is Robert Walters and I am the 54th wealthiest man on our planet. I recently invested a large amount of my fortune on buying Papiya Island, and my one and only intention for this island is to build a dream theme park here, it's a long term vision with a lot of work, money and time needed in order to achieve my dream, but in time, I will reach the goal. I have taken the time to take a couple of photos of my new island for you to take a look at, work will soon begin and I will keep you updated, I hope you will join me on my adventure and stick with me. Here's to a long and successful future! Robert Walters.
  3. Hey all, I've started up a new forum called 'Showcase RCT'. This forum is dedicated entirely to park creations and the stories that go with them. P.S, the link is temporary, if the forum picks up there will be an official domain coming soon! http://s13.zetaboards.com/Showcase_RCT/index/
  4. Hi everyone! Today is Longley Beach Theme Park's season pass preview day! Now since this US Investor Group took over, there has been a massive amount of work been going on at the park, just walking up the road to the park you can see there has been a lot of work done... New Coaster! As you can see this new coaster is in the construction site section sadly! Another view of the new coaster! The park is currently closed and you can only get in today with your new season pass. Punisher is closed. Apparently yesterday during the first tests there was some major problems and they're working at fixing them before the season starts! Boomerang has a new station! A nice, new red wooden station! The monorail is up and testing! One major change in the park for this season... Where has Slingshot gone?! Slingshot, The Carousel and The Slide have all been removed and the area has been given a new look with two new rides! However carousel hasn't gone far, it has been relocated and been given a complete revamp. The chairswing has gone too, this has gone to make way for construction fences and signs during the development of the site next door. Whatever the coaster is, it looks epic! Just another photo to sum up the changes to the area where Slingshot used to be! That's all for today, we're just over a week away from the official opening day of the newly owned Longley Beach Theme Park! I can't wait! See you again soon!
  5. Longley Beach Theme Park Sold To US Investor Group. You have read right, as of today Longley Beach Theme Park has new owners. A group of investors from America have put in an offer which has been accepted to purchase the theme park with full intention of continuing to run the park as a theme park. Along with the purchase of the theme park, the group of investors have also purchased the old public park next to the theme park and fenced off the area and cleared it out. It has been rumoured that this is with full intention to be used as an expansion to the theme park. Below are a couple of photos taken at the park today, which is currently closed for the winter months. The park land along side the theme park and boardwalk has been fenced off. If the rumours are true there is a lot of promise if the park expands! We can't wait to see what the future holds for Longley Beach Theme Park! According to staff at the theme park such as security and maintenance, the theme park will remain the same size for at least another season, with the company investing in redeveloping that area of the park, however with plans to expand, there's a high chance of us seeing a lot more coming the parks way in the next few years! Keep following this story for more on Longley Beach Theme Park's new lease of life!
  6. Opening Day! It has been a really long winter, there has been a lot going on at Longley Beach, especially with the new boardwalk and new additions to the theme park. Today I went down on opening day to have a look around... The car park and monorail were open, the car park was packed so I was expecting the monorail to be quite busy, so I walked instead. The weather was really nice, considering it's only March it was quite warm! The new boardwalk is so much nicer than the old walk to the park, and I've never seen it so busy! The new entrance is all finished. Quite a change to the old, basic entrance! I'm liking the new wooden effect used all over the new boardwalk, including the entrance area to the park. The monorail station inside the park, it was quite busy all day with people coming and going. The way it works is people have to buy tickets in the car park to get to the monorail in order to get in to the park. Trebuchet was busy once again. I don't even need to get in the queue... I can see how busy it is... Today was so busy, it's a nice change to the past where the park has never been this busy. Overall the area is coming along nicely! And to finish off, a nice little bird's eye view of the park for you guys who have asked for it! Thanks for reading guys. Visiting the park again pretty soon!
  7. Thank you all very much for your comments! ----------------------------------------- We're back! It has been one hell of a long winter, with so much work going on around Longley Beach, despite the fact the park still doesn't open for another week, the all new boardwalk is now open and I thought I'd go down while it's quite and show off the all new look boardwalk! According to rumours, the entrance to the boardwalk still isn't finished, there is apparently a new sign still to be put up. Inside we can see a few new buildings! The new Customer Services building is open, not only does it deal with the whole of the Longley Beach area, but it also has maps and other little bits of information for the Theme Park Le Ranch is a new restaurant opened on the Boardwalk, I went with my family the other night for a meal and it is absolutely amazing, the food is very high quality! Once Summer arrives it'll certainly be nice to sit outside at the tables! A View of the new developments on the Boardwalk. Testing on the rides has started, including the monorail! The entrance to the theme park is completely boarded up for now as the entrance to the park gets it's finishing touches to it's new look! Boomerang testing! It's quite busy on the boardwalk, there were rumours of a cinema being built on the boardwalk but it seems those plans fell through! Until opening day next week... Have a great week!
  8. Final Day of Season 2! This season Longley Beach have done absolutely nothing to mark the end of the season, which I am quite disappointed about. Anyway as I arrived today I noticed the entrance has all new signs up! Boomerang was quite popular again today, I don't understand why it's always quite popular at the end of the season, probably cause people might believe it's the last season for it? The Monorail train has been parked up in the station inside the park. A couple of people asked for a bird's eye view of the park from above, it's not great but I'll be getting some more next season! I didn't hang around at the park for long today, went home but had a little peek at all the work going on at the Boardwalk, all of the shops have gone and new construction has started! As I was heading home I was looking at how much Longley Beach Theme Park has transformed the area in the last couple of years, it's just a shame the park is still struggling to bring in the guests! Back next season!
  9. Summer is out of the way now. It has been a decent season for Longley Beach Theme Park. I went down there today and firstly, they're testing the monorail! After a very busy season, from the beginning right through the summer, suddenly the park has just died... One of the girls who works on 'Boomerang' said to me at midday that the ride had only run 9 cycles in the hour and a half since the park opened today, that's not good! There was no queue for Boomerang all day! The chairswing was empty, the staff certainly look bored with how empty it is! From the queue of Chairswing, you get a nice little view of Boomerang. As I left I walked over to get a shot of The Boardwalk, this is meant to be getting a huge make over this winter, who knows that's going to happen! A view from the park on my way home. I'll probably visit again before the end of the season to see what's going on. I'm going to assume the busy start and summer will have saved the park this season, because with how empty it is now, they look like they could be in trouble again. Comments and Feedback Welcome!
  10. Hey Guys, so it's the middle of summer here and it's so hot! I went for a little trip today, here's my update! We can see the park is already open and everything is running! Walking down the street opposite the new Longley Beach Theme Park Car Park, I can see something is happening there! The monorail train has arrived! It's a smart looking train! I wonder how long it will be before they start test running it? I didn't stay in the park for long today, it was far too busy for my liking. Sometimes in the summer the park almost lets too many people in, it's crazy! It was far too hot for me to be walking around all day, so I gave up for today. Until Next Time!
  11. Hey Guys, I've been down to Longley Beach again today, things are changing massively around there now, I'm sure you'll be able to tell for yourself when you see the pictures... The building in the car park has been finished, and what's that coming from the side of the building? A monorail has been built going from the car park across to the park! However, judging by some locals and the newspaper, it hasn't gone down well! The boardwalk has a new look! It was pretty busy in the park today, however the park is in all sorts of mess at the minute, Wild Mouse has been removed and the new monorail station has replaced it, although work is still going on there... A view from above the car park. According to reports, guests can buy tickets from the monorail station in the car park, and in order to get in to the actual monorail platform, every guest will need to go through turnstiles using their tickets, seeing at the monorail takes guests right in to the park. Anyway, apparently the monorail will not be open for this season, apparently it is all planned for next season, there are also rumours spreading that the boardwalk is getting a make over, with joint funding from the council and Longley Beach Theme Park, only time will tell I guess!
  12. Longley Beach Theme Park Purchase Old Construction Site. Just when I thought Longley Beach was going down hill, they surprise us all with the purchase of the derelict construction site on Pawley Street, Although the site has already been turned in to a car park for visitors to the theme park, the site has been labelled a 'site for future development'. So, who knows what we're going to see in the future. However, we can see some development already happening on the site, along with the all new car park. The rumours currently circulating are that this new building may be the site of a hotel linked to the theme park, however I don't see the point considering there is a new built hotel from a well known franchise directly behind it. As you can see, the theme park is only a 5 minute walk away, so it's quite a decent location, although some locals are not happy about some of the traffic building up during the mornings when some visitors arrive. The development site is going up quite quick, although who knows what it's going to be right now. I didn't visit the park today, however as I walked past the boardwalk I saw something quite interesting down outside the park. It was working on 'Wild Mouse', can't be sure whether they're fixing it, or removing it? Anyway, I'll be visiting again very soon so we can find out what happens with the wild mouse and the future development site. Thanks For Reading!
  13. Longley Shopping Centre plans fall through! So, just when the area was looking like it might start to pick up, the plans for the new Longley Shopping Centre have fell through, resulting in the building site being left empty for the time being until a new buyer is found. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In other news... Opening Day Season 2 So here it is, opening day, three weeks on and I'm back to finally get on these new rides. From the outside, the numbers look promising! Yeah, it's pretty busy in here, although for mid-March, it's surprisingly warm, so I'm not surprised! Punisher was very popular, although over the course of the day I did see several people throwing up after going on it. So... Wild Mouse wasn't open. I did actually look around for someone to ask why the ride wasn't open. But didn't see anybody who seemed to have an answer. Although... If it was only a technical issue, the cars would be back on the track... right? 'Trebuchet' didn't run smoothly all day. The ride closed a total of three times during the day for technical issues. I did however get on it twice... It's amazing! The queue for 'Boomerang' was long as always, it has always been quite a popular rollercoaster. So that brings an end to the first day of the new season. I no doubt will be visiting a few times again this season, I'll be sure to keep you updated! Feedback and Comments welcome!
  14. Preview Day! Along with our new season tickets this season, we got an invite to the special 'Preview Day' to see the new additions to the park before anyone else. So, I wasn't going to turn down an offer like that! There was a fair few people going in today, it seems finally adding new stuff to the park has attracted a few more season ticket sales! Security manned the entrance, in case non season ticket holders tried sneaking in. Quite impressive... The Burger King has been moved from opposite the carousel to a new location opposite Boomerang. 'Trebuchet' is the new rollercoaster added to the park, a Half Pipe coaster! The older rides have been given new paint jobs... So has Boomerang! The entrance to 'Trebuchet' A new toilet building has been placed along side the entrance. Trebuchet was testing all day, they obviously don't want those opening day hiccups. The Dodgems building has been completely rebuilt. Fits in with the area well now! Everything was testing today, apart from Wild Mouse... All the cars are gone? 'The Punisher' is another new addition this year. They were also testing this all morning. Finally I'll give you an overview of the whole new area, I can't wait to get on these new rides and try them out in three weeks time when the park opens for a new season! See you all again very soon! Comments and Feedback Welcome!
  15. Hey Guys, So over recent weeks there has been a lot of rumours going around about what's going on at the park so I emailed the park asking about what is planned to be installed, they did eventually reply and simply said to keep checking the website over the next 24 hours, I did and this is what I eventually found! According to the website, the park is very excited about the new 'area' which is being added to the park for next year, so the original planning application seems it didn't reveal everything, and we can clearly see from the first concept there is more than just a rollercoaster being added! I have since emailed asking if there's any chance I could get a look around in the near future at the developments, we shall see in the near future hopefully!
  16. Something interesting has been leaked on the internet today. It has apparently been snapped from the Longley Town Council direct from Longley Beach Theme Park. The whole application hasn't been photographed, so it doesn't give us a huge amount of detail, but make of it what you will!
  17. No Comments? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- November 5th 2012 Hey Guys, I've just got back from the Longley Beach Theme Park Firework Spectacular. I was pleasantly surprised at just how many people came out to the park today. Sadly, the weather was dreadful today, but it didn't ruin the mood, everyone was so happy, even the staff were in a great mood, but that might be because it was the last day of the season? I arrived at the park around 11am, although the boardwalk wasn't packed, there were a lot more people arriving compared to normal. The view across the sea wasn't very pleasant. It turns out the location of the fireworks was where the old customer services building used to be, I certainly hope that wasn't the only reason they've cleared out that space. It was almost a little too busy... The evening arrived, the rain stayed but the rides continued to run! Once it was time for the firework show, almost all of the rides closed temporarily, this cause a little bit of a stir between some of the customers who were only really there for the late ride times. But anyway, the show began and all I can say is wow... So that's it... End of the season, even though in general the park has slowly died this season, it must have had an amazing last day, the numbers alone were huge! I can't wait to see what next season brings, even though I worry it could be the parks last. Only time will tell I guess... See you all soon!
  18. September 2012 Well, the summer has been and gone, and what I'm about to show you might upset you as much as it did me when I visited yesterday. Remember I said it was getting pretty bad? Well... I went up to the park yesterday because it was my school teacher training day, I arrived to find the boardwalk looking, kind of empty... Walking in to the park you can see just how empty it is. Although I have noticed the old customer service building has vanished. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but could we actually finally see something getting done in this place?! I do believe there were more staff in the park today than there were customers, the park can't continue like this surely? Boomerang's queue was... erm... non existent. It was literally walk on all day. The park has almost lost it's theme park feel, it feels more like a cheap, walk about for people now. People are walking around and they're not even that bothered about the rides, well... after an hour you've been on everything enough times to be fed up of the rides. Anyway, I'll be visiting for the Bonfire Night Spectacular on November 5th, which is also the last day of the season, let's hope the numbers pick up for a great end to the season, the Bonfire Night Spectacular is usually quite popular.
  19. Thank you all for your replies I can't wait to share this story more with you! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ July 2012 So I've been down to the park today, I'm not going to lie, it's really not looking good. Schools have now broke up for summer and still there isn't a large number of visitors. Yes it's this bad... I arrived at just after 11am and this was the number of people entering the park... The queue for 'Boomerang' was still pretty long, we queued nearly 15 minutes for it. I don't like how quiet the park is getting. This is when it's the summer holidays, I dread to imagine what it'll be like come September. I did however see one of the Park Managers having a look around today, first off he was looking at the guest services building, hmm, enough room for something new maybe? God knows what was going on here, improvements? problems? possible replacements? Not a massive update for you all, but hey, not exactly a lot going on at the park right now. I'm definitely keeping an eye on what the manager was looking around for today, probably nothing knowing this place.
  20. Welcome to the beautiful town of Longley, situated in the south of England. Longley has long been known for it's beautiful beaches, however in recent years the town has slowly lost it's appeal, and many local businesses suffering from poor tourism. 'The Boardwalk' has also suffered, at a time when the shops were packed and the beach was full. However recently it's not half as busy as before. Amazingly, some companies have faith in this little beach town, with a well known hotel franchise opening a brand new 160 room hotel along side the beach and The Boardwalk. Another company has also decided to take the chance and build a small shopping centre in the area, work has already begun! And of course now we bring you to the main attraction for Longley. Longley Beach Theme Park... Longley Beach Theme Park was opening in 1990, by Michael Baker, with the support of his family. However, over the last 22 years it hasn't exactly grown. It has been the same small 'theme park' now for six years without a single addition, and well... let's just say most of the rides could certainly use a lick of paint at the least. However, I have decided to follow this park as a sort of blog for the future, if it has one. I'm Ash Jones, and let me show you around my local 'theme park'. The park has been struggling in terms of numbers for a couple of years now, with only two rollercoasters and a handful of small rides, it doesn't exactly scream excitement. 'Boomerang' is the biggest rollercoaster here, it was opened way back in 1992 and it has been rumoured as the next ride to close here for a few years now, but it's still very popular! 'Wild Mouse' is the other rollercoaster. It has been here since the park opened and was the first ride to be installed. In recent years it has really started to struggle, there are quite a few days each season where the ride is shut for 'maintenance'. A couple more of the older rides here, both aren't exactly popular anymore. Amazingly, the newest ride in the park is the Chairswing, which opened in 2006. Yeah, you can probably start to tell now how much the park is struggling. 'Slingshot!' Yeah... I never have, and never will go on this, with the state of the park, I'm surprised there hasn't been an accident on here already... 'Rot8' is another newish ride, it opened in 2005 replacing the older launched drop tower. The Main Street is where you can find food, souvenirs, Dodgems and Toilets. As you can probably tell, the park is tiny. However if the tourism doesn't pick up and Mr.Baker doesn't invest in the park, the size could be the least of it's worries. Only time will tell.
  21. Season 2 Update 5 Hey Guys, today was the last day of the season, so I went along for a few hours and there have been some developments! The Centipede is still closed, There must be a serious problem! It was so busy today! An entrance area has started to be constructed, next time I visit this will all be finished! Behind See-Saw is the new rollercoaster which has started to be built, I know it's a Bolliger & Mabillard! That entrance is huge! Thrill Street is still popular as ever! Finally, an over view of the main area of the park so far, I love how the park is growing! See you next season! - Tony.
  22. Season 2 Update 4 Hey All, Just a quick update, it's now late July down at the park and they're preparing for the busy summer holidays with record numbers expected this season with the additions of "Thrill Street" There has been a couple of exciting developments since my last visit, here are my pictures from the visit! Outside the entrace of the park, a new advert has been erected with a sign saying "Arriving Next Season" I wonder whether the design of the advert means anything? The signs have also been put up on the new fences placed next to Typhoon! to stop guests from seeing the development site for next season. Today a theme park forum group came on their "July Theme Park Tour", they were very impressed with the park! Unfortunately, The Centipede was closed today, no idea what was wrong, but it didn't open atall! Pulse is still as busy as ever! And finally, a view of the skyline from the entrance of the park as I was leaving today, it is certainly starting to grow! Feedback and Comments Welcome! - Tony.
  23. Season 2 Update 3 Hey Guys, I didn't get a chance to return to the theme park for the remainder of the first season, but I plan to visit more often this season! Anyway, there has been a lot of additions to the park for season 2, so here are my pictures from the day! It was a pretty rainy day to start off with, I can spot something new in this image! From the entrance plaza I can see the new rollercoaster! To replace the area for concerts, See-Saw has been put in place! An overview of the new area "Thrill Street" The Entrance and station of "Pulse" The Intamin Impulse Coaster This coaster launches at 60mph! It's Intense! The Golfing Garden Entrance And... The attraction itself! The stretch of shops in "Thrill Street" The first fast food outlet at the park, A Burger King! "Typhoon" is another new addition this year, the park has really concentrated on thrill seekers this year! And finally, a look over the whole theme park with all the new additions... That's all for now, I shall be visiting again very soon! Leave me your feedback and thoughts! - Tony.
  24. Season 1 Update 2 Hey guys, just a quick update, I've been down at the park today and there are a couple of developments! The Screen Tests have begun on the stage for "The Summer Concert", only three days until the concert happens! I got a view from the stage control booth at the end of the field during testing! There's construction beginning on a new rollercoaster for next season, the station structure has shot up over the last week, the actual ride construction has yet to begin! And finally a nice view of the park as I'm leaving, so much room for the future! That's all for today Feedback and Reviews Please - Tony.
