Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

If the Point gets an awesome coaster in 2013, I will have missed it by one year! Then again, my dad made a promise to take me in 2 years, so I might be going 2012 and 2013! -

Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, Maverick, and Magnum all sound like awesome rides! Cannot wait for next september!!! -
^Um, you would have to seriously remodel the Intimidator 305 style trains to fit it on a Arrow track. Vekoma and Arrow are very similar in track and train type, so a Vekoma train on an Arrow track is plausable, but an Intamin on an Arrow? I don't think that would be very good after modifications to the train's heartline and width of train to fit the new track. Just my two cents though.

^Oh that reminds me, is Magnum-XL 200 rough? -
I forget where I heard that rumor. It might have actually been on this thread. Someone posted a picture of the transition after the drop and said," This may be the reason the ride was so unique, but in the end, was its downfall." It might have been on BGW fans, but I don't remember. They also said there was rumor that it had to be welded every week.

Would that be Geagua Lake you are taking about? Well, I don't know what really happened there so I can't say anything about that. What I do know is that you atill have 2 other CF parks in ohio! -

I don't see why everybody doesn't like Dick Kinzel. He bought many dirty, nasty Paramount parks, and shaped them up just fine. I love what he has done with Cedar Fair. -
^Yes! I hope something similar to that happens so I can get better camera shots of Intimidator 305! I actually wouldn't mind Anconda being removed because next time I go, I know that my family wont ride it after last times experience (major headbanging, and they didn't like it crawling through the corkscrews). So, now that I have my credit, take it away, and make a great flat or coaster there!

I know I sound stupid for asking this, but is a screamster a scaractor? -
Intamin owns the patent for its own drop track system, which is not what Zierer is using. Zierer designed their own or bought a patent from another company so it has nothing to do with Intamin other then they do the same thing, just in different ways. Intimin only has control of its own designs, not a monopoly on the entire market of "dropping track". Fixed.

^That is actually a fair statement, but Loch Ness Monster at BGW is still running great! So it is probably just a Six Flags thing. Either way, I have already been on Anaconda, and if it is torn down, it won't be missed THAT much. The thing I like about Anaconda is its drop to the tunnel and the loop/sidewinder. After that, well... its just "meh".
