Journey into the cold, dark hallways of Hospital Thirteen and finally learn what evil resides in the abandoned structure. Last week I spoke with Dr. Benjamin Marks, a doctor who was working on the 13th floor of the hospital when it closed. Dr. Marks, in the late stage of Alzheimer's, had few words to say. "Dark. Cold. Sad. That's what I thought of that place." "There isn't a day that goes by that I don't regret my time at the hospital." "Those kids had no business being in that building. The Twilight Zone: Hospital Thirteen - Update This just in: The Twilight Zone: Hospital Thirteen will debut Thursday, October 24, 2013. The chilling animated short film is inspired by the famous Twilight Zone television series. The film will have an original plot, but its theme will draw heavily from the classic show. The Twilight Zone: Hospital Thirteen will follow three high school students as they break into an abandoned hospital with a murky past. They soon learn that something quite sinister is lurking in the desolate hallways of the massive structure. Then, all hell breaks loose. The infamous Hospital Thirteen stands, you guessed it, thirteen stories tall. Aspiring student journalist Alice drags her reluctant boyfriend Harvey and new friend Mary into the dark corridors and stairwells of the towering building. In fact, I'm nearly ready to begin filming the video. BREAKING NEWS: THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER TO SPORT PARALLAX WING COASTER TRAINS Parallax has graciously designed custom trains for use on THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER. The 32-seat trains feature a sleek, black color scheme, similar to "The Bat" in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Seen above is one of the coaster's three trains plunging down the spiraling first drop. Fly alongside Batman on THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER. Wayne Tower is complete! Pictured above is the first half of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER. The exterior of the station is complete! I visited the park last Saturday for the first time. My expectations weren't high based off the park's reputation in the enthusiast community. However, my group had a great time. The lines were rather short, the ride ops were cheerful and efficient, and everything was operating (except Roar). The entire park was much more beautiful than I had imagined. Superman was my first Intamin hyper, and needless to say I was blown away. They're so different than the B&M hypers that I'm accustomed to. I hope this park continues to grow--the have plenty of room to do so.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER - UPDATE B&M Wing Coaster Rising Summer 2013 I've been working on several of the ride's buildings lately, but I've also begun adding foliage to the surrounding area. While the ride's theme is desolate and "dead," I want the area around the coaster to be a stark contrast. After all, I'm designing this coaster for a Six Flags park, many of which have trees. The elongated batwing inversion should leave riders' heads spinning. Pictured above is one of the several queue areas. Bane's rule over the city is apparent with the slew of abandoned police cars. I'll work for two hours and feel like I've barely made a dent in the final product. Hopefully it will all be worth it once I release the video (hoping by the end of July). I began playing around with the lighting. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES COASTER will be even more terrifying at night as riders fly through the slew of obstacles in the dark. The station is progressing nicely. I forgot that riders would need to enter/exit from both sides, so the queue and exit paths needed some reworking. Stay tuned for more updates.
