1982 8th Season I am very impressed with all of the postcards that have been submitted so far! It will be difficult to decide which ones will be sold in the gift shop! Keep them coming! - Joseph Reynolds The Charleston Railway will likely be downsized yet again for next season. It will no longer travel along the lake. Harbortown as seen from Indigo Plunge. Charleston Gardens Amusement Park is beginning to have a nice skyline! Indigo Plunge with Derecho and Parachute Falls in the background. See you next time!

Hey guys I have a small update on "Project Peep" for you all. I am still looking for a female voice for the female character. I know you guys really want my movies to have voices - this is one of the reasons why I don't. I've had several males submit samples so we're good in that department. Ask girls you know if they would be interested. All they would have to do is read a script. If I can't get a female then the entire movie will have to be "subtitled" which I know nobody wants. In other news... I'm still getting used to playing around with the greenscreen: This is by no means a finished product. Right now I'm still in the thick of getting shots filmed in the game and outside of the game. However, I am having to wait until I go home to shoot scenes - I don't think a dorm environment is very stable for peeps! But by this screen you can see that the peeps will have I am also looking at several possible names for the film. Please feel free to give your opinion on these or even offer up your own! - A Tale of Two Peeps - Peeps in the Real World - Peeps! - Real World Peeps - Peeps: The Movie - Peeps Crossing Over Thanks for all the support of this project!

1982 8th Season Welcome to Harbortown! CHARLESTON - Guests were treated to a special surprise this morning at Charleston Gardens Amusement Park as they were the first to get a glimpse of the new Harbortown area of the park. Harbortown, including three rides, is the one of the park's biggest expansions to date since opening in 1975. "We really want to give the park guests something new and different each year," said the park's public relations manager, Joseph Reynolds, "and I feel this year is no different [with the addition of] Harbortown." A Charleston Gardens favorite, The Skywheel, will be making a triumphant return to the park this year after being removed in 1980. "We saw how much the guests missed the rides and contracted a company to make small modifications to the ride so that it could operate more efficiently. Charleston Gardens Amusement Park is located right outside the city of Charleston and is open until October. Season passes are being sold now. It was the perfect day for the park's opening - you could feel the anticipation as the guests awaited to see the new addition. Welcome to Harbortown - the newest area at Charleston Gardens Amusement Park! SkyWheel makes a triumphant return to the park in 1982! A large giftshop is the cornerstone of the new Harbortown area. Harbortown is one of the largest expansions of the park since Atlantic Avenue. The centerpiece of the park is Harbortown Drive. Harbortown Drive puts guests behind the wheel of an antique car. Harbortown gives guests a great view of Derecho's turnaround. Much-needed restrooms also accompany the additions in Harbortown. Harbortown at Charleston Gardens Amusement Park We look forward to another successful season!

Hey guys, I am beginning work on a very experimental film which currently has a working title of "Project Peep". I believe this will be the only Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 production that will take peeps out of the computer and into the "real world" (please correct me if I am wrong). The inspiration for this came a while back as I was playing the game - I thought to myself, "What if the peeps knew they were peeps?" What if they could see out of the computer screen just as I could see into it. This is not an official project, I might not even complete it. I'm just testing out some things I've always wanted to do and adding a little story to it. This is not some epic real life adventure movie - it will be quite short compared to some of my latest films. I am still looking for a male and female to voice the main roles. If you think you might be interested and have the proper equipment, please post here so that I know you're interested. Here are some test shots that I have been working on over the past couple of weeks. Yes, Charleston Gardens Amusement Park will be featured in the movie. This is where the movie will begin: Charleston Gardens Amusement Park "Have you ever wondered what that... that.. thing is in the sky?" The two peeps get their wish as they crossover to the real world via a malfunctioning "Heatwave" coaster. This is only a test shot - she is not one of the main characters. Please tell me what you think of this!

1981 7th Season Today is the last day of our seventh season... my how time flies when you're having fun! We are testing out something different for next year's addition: we will not reveal what the addition is until opening day! That's right, no concept art, no media day, no promotion... nothing! You will just have to wait until opening day to see what we have in store! - Joseph Reynolds Here are the three final photos of our game: These are a bit trickier. Scrambler has been removed.... but remember my friends, nothing is ever as it seems. I'll see you on opening day next season.

^ What kind of computer do you have? 1981 7th Season Hello all! We are in the last week of our seventh season and I thought we could play a little game before all is said and done. In the days to come I will post a closeup picture from somewhere in the park. You must find a previous photo that includes the item that is photographed in the closeup. Whoever finds all of them will receive a complimentary park admission ticket to opening day next season! Here's the first: This is an easy one! I'll be back tomorrow to see who all found it!

1981 We are moving write along through this season. Preparations have already begun for next year's addition! - Joseph Reynolds How many trains can you spot? Carolina Calamity was voted the favorite family ride in the park by guests! The midway. Parachute Falls is the perfect way to end a day at the park!
-
1981 Welcome back! We are moving right along through this season - the crowds are picking up steadily as schools let out for summer vacation. We expect this trend to continue over the next few weeks. Have a great day! - Joseph Reynolds The sky was crystal clear today - what a day for a ride on Parachute Falls! I'm finding it difficult not to eat at Gully Gulch Grill every day! In my opinion, a calming trip around the park on the Charleston Railway is the best thing to do after a big lunch. Maybe dessert afterwards? Charleston Gardens Amusement Park - 1981

From a 1984 edition of the Commercial Appeal: "A rooster crows. A cat slips through a silver fence. A red cow horn protrudes from a tree trunk. A terrapin shell floats in the air on invisible threads. An Egyptian mask stares down along a pink picket fence toward an African-like hut big enough for one pygmy. A red crescent moon sits atop one pole, a star atop another. The man in charge of this dream-like world appears and says, "This is dangerous ground." Welcome to the kingdom of Wash Harris, where Friday the 13th is no different than any other day. For more than a quarter of a century, Harris, a mystery man with a vision that he alone understands, has been creating a mystical retreat so bizarre that long ago it was dubbed "Voodoo Village." Although that is plainly a misnomer -- there are none of the classic voodoo works here: no drums, no skulls, no chicken feet -- there is little doubt that these sprawling acres contain some of the most closely guarded folk secrets in the Mid-South." VOODOO VILLAGE IS RELEASED SATURDAY AT 12:00 AM

Has there been any progress on the ride? I haven't seen any construction shots since the announcement. -
1981 With no new headliner attraction this year, attendance had dipped slightly from last year as we expected it would. Unfortunately, we are not to the point where a large capital investment every year is feasible. We hope to draw in more guests this year through discounts and special events. Have a great day! - Joseph Reynolds Gully Gulch Grill has become a guest favorite! (Hint: go for the burgers, they're the best!) Inside Gully Gulch Grill See you at the park!

Voodoo Village is coming in less than a week. You may still request a prescreening. Feedback so far from prescreenings has been positive - I'm looking forward to hearing what you all think. Here are some more stills from the film: Who will be part of the ritual? Who will be run over by a train? Who will survive? This week I will be giving you more information about the actual Voodoo Village and why so many people fear it.

1981 Welcome to our seventh season of operation - it's hard to believe the park's been open that long! We're coming to the point of new coats of paint, small replacements here and there. With the economy not doing so well this year, we decided it would not be wise to make a large investment in the park until things settle out more. With SkyWheel unfortunately becoming more costly to maintain, we decided it was time for a replacement. Gully Gulch Grill Gully Gulch Grill is a full service restaurant that will serve families typical American fare. The opposite side of Gully Gulch Grill is just as visually pleasing as the front. A small eating plaza gives guests a great view of Heatwave's loop. Come eat with us this season!

1980 Today is the last day of our sixth season and I'm pleased to say it has been a successful one. We are looking forward to next year's continuation of Gully Gulch and look forward to seeing you when the park reopens in the spring. I hope you have a great winter! - Joseph Reynolds Heatwave makes one last cycle before it enters hibernation. Skywheel is slowly being dismantled from the park. It has been sold to a travelling carnival and will be converted so that it is easier to move from place to place. This season's new attraction, Gully Gulch Rapids - See you next season!

^^ Nice one, I hoped someone would see that. Goliath was excellent. It was my second B&M hyper after Raging Bull. I much prefer airtime hills to Raging Bull's twists and turns. -
1980 While Sky Wheel is leaving us, Charleston Gardens Amusement Park still has a plethora of fun-filled rides for the entire family! I took a walk around the park today to photograph some rides that you might have forgotten about! Charleston Railway takes guests on a train trip around the park which includes a tunnel! Carolina Calamity, the park's first rollercoaster, is still thrilling guests today! Parachute Falls, still one of the tallest rides in the park, gives guests a breath-taking view of Charleston. Last but certainly not least, Derecho - the park's giant wooden coaster. Have a great day! - - - - - - - 1980 Well the summer season is not far from leaving us - today was the first cool evening we've had in quite some time. I have to say it felt very nice. As weekend-only season approaches, the cooler weather sets in. - Joseph Reynolds Lines were not very long today. Blastoff! Through the loop at Charleston Gardens... Have a great day!

A few more photos from the trip: I'll leave you with this picture... are they rising or falling? I hate that I missed this ride. Apparently it's better than Iron Wolf... That's quite a large sledgehammer. Odd one out of the crowd is... Something's out of place here... That's it! Georgia's queue gives you some great photo ops! 5 is my lucky number! Turns out this Batman didn't knock me around as much as Great America's! Up in the sky... it's it a bird... is it a plane... no... it's Batman! -

The entertainment center will become the place in Hawaii to come to for world class entertainment. Thrilling rollercoasters, fine & casual dining, and countless shops will offer something for the entire family... all under one roof. We invite you to follow construction through our website and we look forward to seeing you at Volcanic Venues & Suites grand reopening! Hershey and Dunkin Donuts™ have entered into a partnership which will allow Dunkin Donuts™ products to be sold within the Volcanic Venues & Suites. This piece of concept artwork gives you an idea at how a building will appear inside Volcanic Venues & Suites. Please check back for updates soon. -

More: Fountain aint got no water! Gotham City The trains look pretty awesome even with the "Got2B Glued" advertisments. I see you slightly-rounder loop... looking all beautiful and such. This was the pleasant surprise of the trip. Mindbender was fast, smooth, and sexy. I'm pretty certain the Bible did not take place in America. I'm pretty sure America was still underwater. Wait has anybody thought why Goliath was placed in the USA section? Photogenic or Overused? AHHH! It's the green support of DOOM!!!!!!! The sky! Alright, does anybody elses feet hurt really bad when they get off this ride? That last bump is a real surprise! I'm sure it'll open later in the day. HA. Yeah that's the name. I like the inclusion of Snickers this year. Those candybars have always seemed very ominous to me. You can pay $10 to see what it's like to be in a coffin or you could just go walk down the street - you get da same result. -
Today I made the trek with my fellow fraternity pledges to Six Flags over Georgia. Despite the arctic conditions, it was a great day overall. I've only been to the park once before as a young lad so I wasn't able to ride many of the rides. I knew I had alot to conquer during this trip. Overall the park seemed a little dead to me compared to SFGAm during Fright Fest, but you gotta give the park credit for cleaning up the park so promptly after the recent flooding. Now onto the pictures: You can easily see the waterline. We were told by the ops that the water was about 4 feet deep in the station. It came from the river... I'd say it's moving at about 43.5 mph. Haha it's not Valentines Day! You in? Faded Superman? Really? Next thing you know they'll start letting the coasters' paint fade. They got one here too? Ninja is still closed due to the "weather event". I can see clearly now the tree is gone! Oh I see. Oliath? What dey do wit Goliath? Something tells me there is a Halloween event going on right now. But I wouldn't know. Lampost or Lamp Post? I was unable to ride GA Scorcher. My nuts will thank me later. Bankage! "I like big hills and I cannot lie, these other coasters can't deny..." I would classify this as airtime. They Rollercoaster Tycooned this place up! Pink? This'll do.
