  1. ^Yeah, it was quite hilarious to see some misters just spewing out water like a faucet. Then again, it felt good that day (it was about 3 PM on a pretty hot day).
  2. I remember going to Magic Mountain in late July and seeing some of the sections of queue (empty, I should add) completely flooded. The water level in the soil next to the concrete was literally submerged underneath the wasted water from Goliath's misters. Granted, it was a really hot day, and taking a minute to stand under the misters felt great, but I think that that's truly a useless waste of water. Goliath's tunnels and X2's first drop could really use mist, as opposed to sections of queue that were probably empty the whole day (it was a Tuesday with very light crowds).
  3. When I was at the park about a month ago, I asked for a cup of ice water during lunch at the Food Etc. food court next to Goliath. The sushi vendors gave me a decent-sized cup of really cold water (which tasted good and was so cold that ice was unnecessary). I'm not sure about other vendors, but I know that at least the sushi vendors in Food Etc. give free ice water.
  4. Personally, I enjoy riding Scream more than Riddler's because I enjoy the smoothness of Scream compared to Riddler's. Riddler's (especially the last element (I'm not sure what the technical term is)) is much rougher than Scream. In addition, the forces towards the end of the loop pull my whole body towards the ground, causing pain in my feet, legs, and my male parts (which is why I now always sit down on Riddler's, even if I need to be yelled at by the ride op). I find both rides equally entertaining (perhaps Riddler's even a little more than Scream), but I prioritize my safety ahead of the excitement (though now, I've figured out that sitting down on the bike seat truly works wonders; it makes the whole ride painless).
  5. Actually, upon further review and thought, I realized that ericmichaellucas' guess of "Disneyland, California" can refer only to Disneyland Resort in Anaheim and cannot refer to Disney's California Adventure, which is located across the entrance plaza. So, it's your turn, ericmichaellucas! My picture is of a replica of the Sleeping Beauty Castle inside a large snow globe in one of the many gift shops on Main Street, U.S.A. at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA.
  6. Which Disney park in California? There are 2 parks in California.
  7. No, not Paris. Hint 1: This is in a gift shop at a certain Disney park not in Paris, Tokyo, or Hong Kong. I will post more hints if needed (though I need to come up with some hints that don't completely give away the answer).
  8. I'm guessing that we're going by my pic since tatertot guessed the golf pic. And no, my picture is not of Magic Kingdom.
  9. This is somewhat off topic, but I have this burning question in my mind: Terminator has an on-ride flash (and probably a camera, too), but where do you go to view your on-ride photo? Rides like X2, Tatsu, Goliath, etc. have the viewing screens at the exits, but my friends and I couldn't find a screen for Terminator at all.

  11. ^Yeah, I'm more of a Pepsi person, so I last saw a Coke can about 1 month ago, when there was still a Magic Mountain ad/coupon printed. I did see a Universal Studios Hollywood commercial recently offering $15 off admission with a Coke can, so the Magic Mountain/Hurricane Harbor offer *has already expired*. Regardless, I think buying tickets online would probably yield the best price. EDIT: *may have already expired*
  12. ^Yes, there is an advertisement on Coke cans (at least the ones sold in Southern California) that has the "buy one MM ticket, get one free with the can" offer along with another offer for Hurricane Harbor.
  13. I remember seeing a man in that machine (though it was between Terminator and Deja Vu). It seems that they don't actually give away cash (unlike some other identical machines I've seen before), but instead, prizes depending on the number of pieces of paper you catch. Also, on a somewhat unrelated topic, does anybody know how to add the accents on "Deja" (namely on the "e" and the "a")? I'm sorry that I'm posting this here, but I searched the site and didn't find anything.
  14. Yeah, Viper and GASM look really similar (even the paint colors are the same!)
  15. ^^Sorry; I thought that if no reply is posted after 24 hours, that anybody could post a new picture. Anyway, yes, my picture is VIPER at MAGIC MOUNTAIN.
  16. I'll go since it's been 5 days. You think you know what/where it is, but are you sure?
  17. Well, the only waits longer than an hour were X2 (which almost always has 1+ hour waits, unless you are lucky enough to get in line before most others) and Tatsu (which had "technical difficulties"). Compared with my previous 2 visits, these crowds were "nonexistent" for me.
  18. Hello, I'm Jeffrey. I live somewhere in SoCal (I won't disclose my location further). My local parks are Disneyland, Knott's (which I haven't visited since I was 7) and SFMM. The only other major theme park I have visited outside of California is probably Busch Gardens Europe.
  19. Hello; I registered for TPR after (somewhat obsessively) reading its forums for a while. Anyway, I visited SFMM (with 2 of my friends) on July 28, and I have decided that my first post will be a long (photoless) trip report: After arriving at the gates at 10 AM and enduring an incredibly tacky preshow, SFMM opened the gates a few minutes before 10:30. My friends and I (along with most of the general public) sprinted towards X2 to find that the line had not been opened as the coaster was still testing. A medium-sized crowd gathered around the entrance behind us as we waited for the testing to finish (trains could be seen and heard in the background). After about 10 minutes, a SFMM employee opened the line and everybody pushed and shoved their way towards the station. We were incredibly lucky that we were towards the front of the group and our wait was no less than 30 minutes. The ride was great (as always) and the front seat makes the drop so much more exciting with nothing in front but the ground. After our ride on X2, we made our way to Terminator but not before being wowed by X2's line, which was to the end of the bridge. Terminator was (thank goodness), running 2 trains and had a 5 minute line (the employee let us skip the preshow). Sitting in the back, the ride was quite forceful and had more airtime than expected. The misters were on full blast, but there was no fire... The re-ride took about a 15 minute line, and the 2nd row was less powerful, but still a great ride. After TS:TR, we made our way to Deja, which had only a 30 minute line (though all the switchbacks were filled when we left). After Deja, we rode Goldrusher, which was truly a walk-on. Then, we went on Riddler's 3 times in a row and began to feel a little sick. So, instead of opting for B:TR, we made for Goliath. We rode twice, and I must admit that I am very guilty of ducking on Goliath's tunnel. After eating lunch, we waited about 5 minutes for Superman, which broke, so we ascended the Sky Tower. I must say that the views are stunning and that X2's fire from the Sky Tower looks nothing short of daunting. Also, by this time (3:30ish), Terminator had a line that looked about 90 minutes, so we were feeling pretty good as we descended and headed for Tatsu. The line wasn't too bad (none of the switchbacks were filled) and they were running both stations (1 train on each side). We make it into the station and there were "technical difficulties". From what we could tell, some woman had lost something on the ride, and mechanics were walking about, so I guess there were 2 problems. In the end, the wait was an hour (still very bearable). After our ride on Tatsu, we headed back to Batman, where there was no line until the stairs into the station. When we entered the station, there were some more "technical difficulties" (though not as bad as those on Tatsu). So, the line grew, and the wait time on our 2nd ride was perhaps 15 minutes. After Batman, we headed down to Scream! where there was actually a solid 20 minute wait (albeit for the front). By that time, it was already about 6:45, so we headed back to Tatsu for a sunset ride. After our sunset ride on Tatus (with stunningly beautiful views), we made for X2 which had a wait of about an hour (and maybe 10 minutes). None of the switchbacks past the 2 vending machines were filled, and the video screens were showing the Break.com ads, so the wait felt quite short. By the time we boarded the ride, the sun had completely set, so we faced X2 in pitch black darkness. Taking the front seat again, I actually felt some sort of apprehension (as in "What the f*** am I doing, going on this ride in pitch blackness") ascending the lift. At the top of the lift, before the drop, the 2 or 3 seconds when the seats lean back and face the sky (for the seats farther back to finish the lift) felt like 30 seconds (yet they carried a feeling of serenity, staring at the sky dotted with stars. Soon enough, the ride really began and I truly understood why people say that X2 is so much better at night. I won't elaborate too much, but I would just like to say that the fire effect at night is one of the coolest things I've experienced in a LONG time. When we got off X2, it was still only 9:40, so we dashed to Tatsu for a final flight at night. We missed a re-ride by only about 2 minutes. Ride Count: X2 2x Tatsu 3x Riddler's 3x TS:TR 2x B:TR 2x Goliath 2x Deja Vu 1x Goldrusher 1x Scream! 1x Sky Tower 1x Final Conclusion: SFMM crowds are virtually nonexistent on summer Tuesdays. Or, we were just INCREDIBLY lucky.
