I live in the mountains an hour from Seattle and nothing is closer than an hour Wild Waves 1hr (but hardly ever go there) Silverwood 3hrs Puyallup Fair 1hr Playland BC 4hrs

You know I didn't even look for it but I am pretty sure its gone. RCDB shows it operating til 2012. I know I walked through the area where it used to be and didn't see it but I was short on time and just wasn't paying attention. I have ridden it in the past, it was a short but fun ride, but the water in the flume portion always looked like they never changed it so I only rode it if I was at the fair in the first few days when it was relatively clean as you always got wet. The Schwartzkopf Wildcat coaster is still there as I saw that, so still three operating coasters.

Yes, I was glad they did replace the old mouse coaster instead of just remove it. The rumor is that this coaster may just be rented to the fair for awhile though. I was looking at the installation and it was set up in a temporary fashion, instead of putting concrete footings for the support portions they are just on wood blocks on the ground like a temporary carnival set up. Yes Nrthwind, the train set up on the wood coaster is like the fantastic coaster at Playland in Vancouver, which is my favorite wood coaster of them all. There is more airtime on that coaster than anything I have ridden

Went to the Washington State Fair (that's what they now call the Puyallup Fair) today at lunchtime when I have a few hours free from work. Wanted to ride the new coaster they have called Rainier Rush that replaced the classic mad mouse coaster they sadly got rid of. Anyway, glad they brought in a new coaster but the ride was surprisingly rough for a looping coaster like this, and had some weird braking and track speed. All in all not that impressive a ride. I then went and rode the Classic Coaster a few time back seat, awesome! the rebuild has kept all the character of the coaster (although I hope they get the old sign back up on top) and all you have now is the lapbar with no seatbelts, tons of airtime in the back seat. Its a coaster that never disappoints! Heres a picture of the Rainier rush I grabbed with my phone.

That park has always intrigued me, I used to go by it on our way to Cape Cod as a little kid but my parents would never take me, could see the coaster from the main road. I have a cool black and white photo, kind of an art photo of that coaster in ruins, real creepy looking that way.

The Coaster at Playland is the most awesome woodie I have ridden at any height and clearly within this height range. The awesome airtime is not comparable to ANY other woodie i have ridden. The back seat on that thing is such an ejector its actually scary the first time you ride it, especially with that bar about a foot above yoru waist as the only thing holding you in. I cant say enough abaout that coaster, maybe my favorite of all coasters. Amazing considering the rest of that park is pretty tame with nothing really of note. My other top low woodies would be Santa Cruz Giant Dipper, Puyallup Fair Coaster, and the Yankee Cannonball.

I went to the Puyallup fair last week also. Went during the $2 ride day which made it a bit cheaper than normal. I wanted to ride the coasters, specifically Kersplash which I had never ridden which is up for sale right now, so although the dirty water in it put me off before I was going to ride it this time. We rode the wood coaster 3 times and all were good. I didnt get last seat on first two rides and was starting to worry the re-build took away a little airtime, but when I rode the last seat on my 3rd ride it clearly is still all there, what a great little coaster, to bad it was open a bit more than twice a year! Then we rode the Wildcat, a fun coaster that has a fairly run down appearence now. Then we went to Kersplash, we watched a few riders and could see you would get a bit wet but not to bad, the water in this thing always looks like a sewer so I have avoided this one for years. Anyway, I have to say I was surprised how fun a ride it is, nice swooping drops, Miler makes some decent coasters, I rode the little kiddie coaster made by Miler at Oaks Parks in Portland made by Miler and would say that may be the best kiddie coaster I have ridden. We wanted to ride the Mouse but as previously stated, they dont let you ride alone, and last time my son and I rode together it was cramped as hell. I am 6' and hes 6'5" so we just cant fit in it. I dont get why single riders cant go on this. We rode a few flat rides, got some fried clams and then took off. This fair/park has more rides and better coasters than the nearby 6 Flags Wild Waves if you ask me.
