Cruising with Theme Park Review - Feb 2011
jcrouse replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Robb - I'm loving these updates. I really need to get down there and give that ship a try. It looks awesome. I want to have a drink in a bar that's also an elevator - and now bacon cupcakes... Sensory overload. -
Great Trip Report Reed. Jacqi and I were on the Dream about 2 weeks before the Maiden Voyage and it was awesome. Looking at your photos just reminded me how much I need to book another cruise. Palo is amazing - we never miss the brunch they serve. Love the idea of eating in the upscale restaurant, then going to your regular dining room for dinner #2. That thought has never crossed my mind. Glad you guys had a great time!

Great Report! We were there just 3 weeks ago and had a great time! The staff was very friendly. It was our first time there, so I have nothing to compare it to as far as improvements. But I thought the Cheetah was fantastic. It rode very smooth and was easily the highlight of the park. Enjoyed it very much... Overall, my family liked the park and we're anxious to see how it improves - In addition to some bigger rides, I'd like to see some Dollywood-like places to eat eventually. We also had a lot of fun running around recreating scenes from Zombieland... -
Club TPR's Final Membership Card Design
jcrouse replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This whole project was a lot of fun - thanks for the votes. JDs03 - I love your logo - I think it really tells the story and I'm glad that it's part of the final design Thanks to Robb and Elissa - looking forward to the launch! -
Here's a revised card layout and another card I've been working on. Again, thanks to n7 for the logo variation idea. The revised card makes most of the changes that were recommended. I've dropped the dude in the TPR hoodie, tried to break up the white a bit, replaced the logo and switched the type around a bit. I'll post more soon. Please let me know your thoughts. Revised initial effort

Thanks for the feedback and the kind words. This project is a lot of fun, plus I'm really enjoying seeing the other concepts - some of which I think are really good. n7, I liked your revised logo. In fact, I borrowed the scalloped look for one of the layouts I'm working on... I think it adds a bit of motion to the logo - Here is that version along with the older logo set against a white background. Hoping to have another card layout or two up very soon. Please let me know your thoughts. revised logo with scalloped panels inspired by n7 Revised logo set against white background

Hello everyone... This thread is fun! I've seen some really cool layouts. I agree with most - n7's stuff looks great. Here is a concept I put together - please let me know your thoughts. logo concept regular layout how about a vertical treatment - this could fit into the lanyards six flags and other parks sell...

Shane's Amusement Attic
jcrouse replied to montezooma's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great stuff Shane! (and congrats on the water park!) I sure do miss River Country. Please keep the nostalgia coming. And just to touch on what Robb said, there are a few spots at WDW that feel untouched (in a good way) - including my favorite place, Fort Wilderness - its almost exactly the same as it looks in the booklet - the same as it was when I went there as a kid. Of course the landscape of the Magic Kingdom is going to look a whole lot different when the new Fantasyland is complete... -
Awesome update, Robb - our Mindbender ERT was THE highlight of SFOG!

Welcome home Mike - miss you guys already. Thanks for posting the photo - that's a great shot!

Great photos - thanks for posting. Makes me wish we were able to continue on to Texas with everyone! -
Renee, Thanks for posting the shot of Group #2 - I wish they would have let us bring a camera out there! Leon, the memory of you busting your a$$ on the launch platform will happily stay with me forever - Sha-Kon-O-Hey!! Although, I did trip over my own feet at launch station #2 - so I'm no vision of grace either...

The Sky Zip was awesome! Even though I have a fear of heights - I'm so glad I did it - what an amazing experience.

Jacqi and I just got back - our heads still swirling from the past 6 days. Thanks to all for making our first TPR trip so incredible. We really had the time of our lives and look forward to seeing you all again on a future trip. Robb and Elissa - you guys rock! Thanks for putting it all together. For the record, we loved the skillets at Dollywood and Thunderhead is tops on our woodie list! Enjoy the Texas leg of the trip... - Jack & Jacqi
