Photo TR: Evacuated from Disney's Nemo Ride!
brand4d2 replied to timfar's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Thanks for the great photos! I've been evac'd from Indy twice this year and Splash Mountain twice but never got food vouchers. That's okay, the evac is a treat in and of itself. -
Allison, the hostess with the mostest? And then something about trying the donuts at the Cyber Cafe? I hear her spiel whenever I take the O. Express up the hill. I wish the Tatsu ops, which we've mentioned many, many times, along with the aforementioned Goliath op, wouldn't repeat "Is everybody in?" a la the X2 recorded spiel so many times. I rode Tatsu 3 times during morning ERT and they used it each time.

The WCB 2010 Appreciation Thread
brand4d2 replied to Sir Clinksalot's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A huge thank you to all that were involved with WCB at SFMM! Unfortunately, I couldn't stay for nighttime ERT and yet it was still an awesome experience for me. I was running a bit late but Robb and Elissa were so quick to register me that I didn't miss much of morning ERT. Mark was an excellent guide for the back stage tour. At Q&A, I really got the sense that Jay and Neil and Tim were just as excited about this event as we were. Free bottled water was great too! I'm not sure if the park profited financially from us and if they didn't, it's all the more impressive that they rolled out the red carpet for us, so to speak. Thank you once again and see you all at WCB 2011! -
I went today as well. It wasn't extremely busy but because there was no X2 or Deja Vu, it made Tatsu's lines longer than what they might normally be. Although they were loading on both stations, it seemed like the station on the Ninja side was much, much slower. It also seems like while the Tatsu ops have taken their act even further, at least the Goliath op (blond girl) seems to have toned down hers. I think I read about this many pages ago but that restroom over by the lockers! wow! what a renovation! Overall, I got in 20 rides today including my first ever rides on Tatsu and Revolution in the dark.

How did you end up here???
brand4d2 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I read Robb's tour of Asia theme parks trip reports on another site, saw a link to this one and decided to join up, especially since we have such an extensive group of SFMM locals. -
That food discount should be good at all sit down counter service establishments but not food carts. Often times, you may need to remind the employees about the discount. I got hosed at Katy's Kettle once last year as well as Flags when I bought some merchandise. For Katy's, they didn't give me any money back but at Flags they gave me back the difference in cash. There probably aren't that many Xtreme pass holders compared to Play Pass and so that may be a reason for the mix ups. Heck, I just renewed online a few weeks back and received the Play Pass instead of Xtreme.

I renewed my Xtreme pass online but got a Play pass in the mail today. The card is green, says 2010 Play Pass on it, does not have the same bar code as my 09 Xtreme pass and does not say "parking" on the pass. Furthermore, my credit card was charged for the Xtreme pass renewal. Is this a situation that I'd be able to fix by going to Guest Services at the park or would I need to do it through the site?

Actually, X2 was running 2 trains later in the day when I had my mini marathon of 3 straight rides. This was around 2-3 pm, by the way and all 3 rides were walk ons! I had a great day and set a personal best with 33 rides, including 7 on Terminator. I'm joining the club of those of us who can't take the outside seat on X2 anymore.

I forgot to add- the Tatsu ride ops were very entertaining yesterday! I'm not sure if this stuff was planned or impromptu but among other things, they did Yoda impressions as well as hilarious ads for the Mooseburger Lodge and the Frozen Lemonade stand. They definitely made the wait in the station, or stations I should say as both were open, a fun time. I thought about leaving a compliment at Guest Relations but then it occured to me that Management might not know that they're doing this and I might get them in trouble? Hopefully they are aware and are appreciative of their efforts to entertain the crowd. Maybe next time then? I go on Tatsu quite a lot (20 rides this year alone) and one of the ops is there every time so I know he'll be there at least.

Normally I'm not bothered at all but today I rode in the second to last row like you did and on the outside. I also hit my head during the second raven turn. I guess I won't be sitting near the back any longer for X2. Truth be told, none of my rides on anything were that great today - Tatsu didn't feel that great and I came closer than I ever have to blacking out on Goliath. Revolution and Colossus felt horrible but that's my fault for opting to ride them. How much of an effect does heat have on one's coaster riding experience? As most of my trips are in the Winter and Spring, I haven't been to SFMM in the summertime for a number of years.

Photo TR: Disneyland Resort 9/19-9/23
brand4d2 replied to ECZenith's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks for the photos of BTMRR! I'll look for you next time I'm there which is usually once a month. -
Thank you, the ghost, for that report! We always make fun of General Public comments on this board. Well, it seems like at Disneyland (and DCA), those comments are the most idiotic and hilarious out of any theme parks. I've heard people asking Splash Mountain and Grizzly River Run cast members "you don't get wet on this ride, do you?". Or they'll ask if Big Thunder is a roller coaster. Or even things like "what time does the 5:30 parade start?"

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
brand4d2 replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I had some computer troubles so I couldn't get around to posting until today. I too was at the park yesterday so I must've run across some of you at some point in the day. The shortcut behind Revolution worked like a charm though I got on the second train of the day. I had three straight rides - once up front, once in row 9 and the last one in the back. From now on, given a choice, I'll prefer the back rows. Like many of you said, this ride really hauls! Also, that preshow is quite unintentionally funny. I burst out in laughter the first time I heard the "You at Six Flags Magic Mountain". On my 2nd and 3rd times through the pre shows I actually thought he might be saying "You're" but it could definitely be construed as "you". I also laughed a bit during "Listen, I know how you're feeling...I've been there...". Dialogue aside, I think they did a great job with the theming and a fantastic job with the ride itself. I could only hear "take the tunnel" on one of my rides, however and the flame effects were on for only one ride as well.
