  1. Do you own that domain name?

If so then just log into your control panel and look for some kind of link called "redirect" or "manage redirects" or something along those lines.

If you don't own the domain, you need to buy it before you can use it.

  2. Yeah, I have seen that picture. I was just asking if anyone has ridden in the new trains to see if they make much of a difference. I actually like the looks of them. They are also safer considering they have that seat belt just in case the harnesses were to release.

Ahhhha! Seat belts on those kind of trains can only slow down dispatches. Look at Corkscrew at Cedar Point. Since someone decided the ride "wasn't safe" a few years ago, they decided to add seat-belts to the ride, (which are nothing more then a pain in the neck and since the park decided to stick the fastener to the fiberglass of the train and hang the seat-belts from the OTSR, many people have been slapped in the face) and now Dispatches are horribly slow and when the park runs three trains. Most of the time, you can expect to wait for two trains in the brakes until you can get off the ride.

  3. Pick three of the following. Read and note, be prepared for quizzes on the books you read on the second day of school. During the first week back, you will apply different types of literary criticism to the novels and write a 4-page analysis over one of the books.

    The Martian Chronicles, Bradbury

    Jane Eyre, Bronte

    My Antonia, Cather

    A Farewell to Arms, Hemingway

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Kesey

    Into the Wild, Krakauer

    Life of Pi, Martel

    The Chosen, Potok

    Gilead, Robinson

Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress, Sijie

    The Grapes of Wrath, Steinbeck

    The Joy Luck Club, Tan

Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant, Tyler

    The Ponder Hear, Welty

Don't pick Life of Pi, I read that last year and could not stand it!

    Anyhow, I've got:

The College Application Essay by Sarah McGinty

    Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

Tess of the D’Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy

The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain

and Chapters 1-6 in my A.P. U.S. History book.

  4. I was in St. Louis from the 12th to the 18th and while we were there, we stayed at the Holiday Inn by Six Flags St. Louis, so needless to say we visited the park quite a bit. I have pictures that I took on a film camera, I just need to use up the rest of the pictures on the roll and get it developed (my Digital camera broke on the trip for no reason, it just decided not to turn on anymore).

Anyhow, I guess being from Ohio and consequently surrounded by Cedar Fair Parks, I have never been to an actual Six Flags Park since WoA in 2002, which I don't remember that well. I was actually surprised by how clean this park was based off what everyone says about Six Flags parks and how dirty they are. Granted, I was not looking for litter, but the average park guest isn't either.

One of the things I did notice that annoyed me is that the staff never made interval because they were always goofing around with their friends or coworkers. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the op's trying to have a little fun, but I think they should at least pay attention when a train is in the station, especially if they are at panel. I thought at one time that while on River King Mine Train they were going to dispatch the train without lowering our safety bar. I had to motion someone over to finally get it closed while the two operators, one at panel and the other standing around doing nothing, tried to throw water on one-another. Screamin' Eagle also had the same problem, and the Boss was only running one train which made it have the longest line in the park (They ran 2 on Sunday, though).

I was also surprised at how accessible the panels were to guests. Except for Screamin' Eagle, the person working panel also checked restraints and left the panel, which is out in the open, unattended. The Batman panel was just in a box where you would expect a "dispatch ok" button to be. It did have a cover, and most op's (but not all) shut the cover when they left to check restraints. I was also surprised at how the spiels were done. All the rides except River King Mine Train had an auto spiel, but I could barley hear the Batman auto spieler (I mostly got, “Emergency Sensors have indicated that you’ve entered the Batcave with....access time. Apparently you’re in some kind of danger.........secure hats, glasses........you’re in for a bumpy ride.”), on Screamin’ Eagle, some of the ride op’s talked over the PA during the auto spiel, and on River King they babbled the spiel very quickly right before and during the trains dispatch (and the mic wasn’t that loud either). Finally, I was surprised where the op’s would stand during dispatches on Batman, that would never do in a Cedar Fair park! The Panel op as well as the front left op could easily be grabbed by a guest during the trains departure from the station!

I did have an enjoyable time, putting aside my slight anger whenever the train was ready for dispatch but the op's weren't because they had more important things to do, like talk or try and squirt others with water. I didn’t get the Mr. Freeze credit because it was closed, but I got everything else, that is except the kiddie coaster.

*Batman The Ride- My first Batman, I thought this ride was great! I liked everything about it, the length was perfect and I liked the timing of the inversions. 10/10

*Ninja- First Vekoma sit down! I remembered while in line that you should sit in the front...no, the back... oh no. I chose the back and the ride was actually ok at most times, but I still can't get over my falling out of the car feeling that I get on all the Vekoma's I've been on.

    6/10

*River King Mine Train- Actually, this ride was very enjoyable once I got over being squished by the metal lap bar. I liked the big drop in the tunnel. 7/10

*Screamin’ Eagle- 30 years and still going strong! This is a great, smooth, fast paced ride. 9/10

*Boss- I am torn between this ride. I think the layout is amazing, but the trains are so painful! My left leg always came off screaming after riding, but I could not stop riding. 6/10

  5. ^ I think he read restaurant instead of restraints, as I did when I first clicked this thread.

As for me, I prefer Intamin T bars, that is minus all the stupid seat belt problems/rules that they have that "make the ride more safe!"

Mathias "Because 1/2" of slack on my seat belt is going to save me if my lap bar malfunctions, whereas 1/4" won't!" B.

  6. You thought RWB was rough? My ride was very smooth when I went in May. Were they running the black train or the silver/red train?

Anyhow, it looks like you had a lot of fun! As for the "where is everyone?" feeling, that is courtesy of Six Flags. People just simply stopped going to the park because of how run down and dirty it was. But it's a lot better now and hopefully people will start to take notice and the park can become as popular as it was in the 80's and early 90's again.

  7. If anyone is going to be in Ohio June 24, you might want to check this out!

On Point! is randomly picking 50 people to celebrate their one year anniversary with them by getting 30 minutes of ERT on Millie from 8:30 A.M. to 9 A.M. You can enter by going here. www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/contests/index.cfm.

On a related note, Cedar Point now has the Millennium Force Theme Music available for download so you can jam to it on your way up to CP for your ERT. www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/extra/index.cfm.

  8. Sorry there are not a lot of photos, my memory card got corrupted!

My Family and I decided to take a trip back to Geauga Lake for the first time since 2002 when it was still a Six Flags park. We left around 9:30 and got there at 11:30. After buying tickets, we bought a locker that we could use all day for the incredibly low price of $6! After riding Thunderhawk, we had lunch, then rode some more coasters. At about 2:30 we headed over to Wild Water Kingdom, and it was a lot of fun (as well as, consequently, where all of the people were). The new wave-pool was great as the cycles were more frequent then I'm used to (10 min. on, 10 min. off). Overall we had a really good time, and will definitely go back again this season, especially with the ticket price being so cheap ($24.95).

One thing I noticed and thought was weird was that all of the coasters that only had one train on the track (villain, raging wolf bobs, double loop, big dipper, x-flight for part of the day, and dominator after one of the trains broke) would stop on the brake run before the station and not advance until the operators dispatched a "ghost train." It was odd to hear "clear" when there was no train in the station. Does anyone know why they did this?

Anyhow, here are my coaster reviews and some pictures:

*Thunderhawk- I went into this expecting to be quite beat up, as this was my first SLC. However, much to my surprise, the ride was relatively smooth except for one part at the end before the final break run. I sat in the third row from the back on the red train. Unfortunately, the second time was not as kind to me as the first, but overall it was not as bad as I had anticipated with the way everyone talks about SLC's. 6/10

*Double Loop- For an arrow, this was actually very smooth, but of course had the unmistakable trait of the loudest lift hill in the park! I found it odd that they were still using the manual restraint release/lock buttons, and the train e-stopped later on in the day because someone's restraints weren't locked! 6/10

*Villain- One word: Ouch! My back really hurt after coming off of this one. Even though it did have a few good spots of airtime, it was ruined by the harsh return into the seat. Curse you Gerstlauer for ruining a potentially good coaster! 5/10

*Dominator- Front row ride with only a one train wait! This coaster was amazing and for me is near the top of my list! Most likely my favorite coaster at GL. 10/10

*Raging Wolf Bobs- Yay for re-tracking! While a bit on the slow side, I actually enjoyed this coaster, especially because the re-tracking work is now done and it runs as smooth as ever, even with the horrid Gerstlauer train that squealed on every turn! 7/10

*Head Spin- My first boomerang, and the last time I ride Head Spin at GL. It wasn't that rough, but I came off very dizzy and just didn't like the feeling I got after riding it. 3/10

*Steel Venom- Yay Intamin! Even though the name is cheesy and the sign doesn't match the track color wise, this coaster is great. I think I actually prefer having the straight back spike and the holding break as opposed having the twist on both sides like Wicked Twister does. Great, powerful launch, too. 10/10

*Big Dipper- Fun old classic coaster with good airtime, what's not to like (except the views of the abandoned water park)? 8/10

*X-Flight- This is the only coaster I can honestly say scared the living daylights out of me the first time I rode it. There's just something about the way the restraints were that didn't feel safe to me, I felt like I was just hanging there and was going to fall out at any given time. But, once I got over my fear of the restraints and the sun being in my eyes on the way up the lift, I actually enjoyed the elements on this coaster, especially the horseshoe. 8/10

What do you mean the colors on the sign don't match the colors on the track?

Please pay $6 for a locker. What, you already paid $9 for parking, how hard can it be?

  9. Kinzel also had to keep shooting down people bringing this up in the conference call. PKI and CP do not compete! They're a good 4 hours away from each other. That would be like saying Six Flags over Texas competes against Six Flags Fiesta Texas. It doesn't happen. CP's top three markets are: Detroit, Cleveland, Toledo. PKI's are: Cincy, Columbus and Indianapolis. While they do slightly overlap in Columbus, Dayton and Indy, it is not enough to qualify them as competing parks.

I disagree on the PKI/CP competing thing. I live in Columbus, and both PKI and CP are about 2 hours away. Everyone I know, if given the choice to go to PKI or CP will choose CP hands down, with no hesitation. Overall, I guess I am on the fence about this whole thing. While I think it would be cool to have a "super season pass," I also see a similar thing happening with the CP/GL passes, meaning you can get a CP or GL pass, but will have to pay extra to go to the other park. I can't imagine what the up-charge will be when there is virtually no more competition for Cedar Fair parks in Ohio.
