  1. Facebook every day for me, occasionally You Tube. Gave up on Twitter due to large amounts of drivel posted
  2. I was lucky enough to spend 3 days at Portaventura a couple of weeks ago and Shambala is a fantastic coaster. The airtime is amazing, the theming of the whole area (Dragon Khan is in the same area) has had no expense spared on it. The most amazing thing i found is that the ride is so quiet. You can stand right beside it as the cars go past and all you hear is a "swoosh" as they pass. The express pass can be used on Shambala and is great value if you are staying in a Hotel on the Park. It has to be ridden!
  3. I forgot to say! You may not need the Fast Track Upgrades mid week. Best option is to get normal tickets and see how you get on. If queues are too long, then upgrade to Ultimate Fast Track late morning. They are quite expensive, so you can save a fair bit if you don't need them. As other posts have mentioned, the Single Rider Lines move quickly 90% of the time as well. I have never know Alton Towers or Thorpe Park to reach their limits for Fast Track Tickets.
  4. If you are staying at Alton Towers Hotel, make sure you use the Club TPR Discount Scheme. I have organised a Running Club Visit in October and the Price for Rooms and Park Tickets is less than half the usual prices. Hope you enjoy your visit to England, weather is normally quite good at this time of the year, can be cool, but should still be mainly dry.
  5. We finally managed to visit Southern California on vacation 2 weeks ago. SFMM was the highlight of the vacation (We enjoyed it as much as we were disappointed in Knotts Berry).Platinum Pass meant we got on everything we wanted (Extra $60 for the 4 of us to get one ride on X2 was a bit extreme!) Terminator was the surprise of the trip, fantastic. We went on it 8 times in all and loved it. Would be great if the Platinum pass allowed you to skip the video build up though!). Definitely our fave Park in the USA, overtook Busch Gardens Europe. Now planning where to next in our annual USA expedition!
  6. Thank you for the suggestion, we visited Niagara last year during our New York/Virginia Holiday. Family would definitely go again as we loved it and could have stayed for another day if possible. (We were on a Day Trip Excursion from NY) Once again, Thanks for the idea
  7. As a Coaster Fanatic, i have to visit Cedar Point one day! Obviously as a Brit, i have made the trip across to Florida, and then Virginia (Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens) last year. To persuade the family that Ohio is a good place for our next USA holiday, i have to let them know that there will be other things to do apart from Cedar Point. What other interesting things are there to do and see within a couple of hours drive? Or, what other areas with attractive scenery and attractions can we visit in a 2 centre holiday with Cedar Point as one of the centres? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I am siiting on 96 coasters at the moment, big question if i get to Cedar Point, which one will be Number 100!
  8. Its long overdue for Alton Towers, we used to make the trip there a couple of times every year. Have not been for a couple of years as the Park seemed to be at a standstill with the owners investing all their money at Thorpe Park. 2010 Pencilled in again!
