I relly do belive that carowinds is getting somthing big maby floorless. After all that would fit in nicley at carowinds. If by "big" you mean a used boomerang then definitely but a hyper or floorless in 2010 nahhh. No, carowinds is really getting something big, take a look at Screamscape for carowinds 2010.It didn't cost Cedar Fair that much to transport the boomerang from ohio and do the painting and everything. There is a possibility the track is for carowinds but very unlikely.Like I said its way too early to start making track for that project.

hmm, well Carowinds is already announced the removal of their log ride and its been pretty much confirmed ,but not officially announced, that Carowinds will be getting something big, which we could assume is a coaster. This could possibly be track for a hyper. Although, I do agree it's a little early for them to be producing track already for that project. They haven't even removed the log ride yet.

oh, i know what your talking about then. I don't think they are that tight but i do have to sit in the front part on each car because there's no room for my legs on the 2nd row of the car, lol. Oh by the way , you should take a peek at the Carolina cobra pics again, there's new pics of the trains on there . And one more thing, do you have Yahoo or any instant messaging program crazy_behemoth_lady_Jess? MOD EDIT by larrygator: Yes, that is a good idea (Yahoo or IM) for contuing this private conversation outside of this thread. If not Yahoo or IM please use the PM function. Anything except another off-topic post in this thread. Thank You

Since nobody else answered your question i'll say something, lol. Which arrow "sardine can" trains are you talking about, the ones that usually have the large wedge shaped front on it like Tennessee Tornado and Carolina Cyclone?

I've just kinda "studied" each park when i'm bored(lol) and it seems like a nice park. I've never heard anything bad about it, mostly good. My cousin went there on an 8th grade trip and her classmates and her enjoyed it a lot. Can't hurt to say something about a park close to "RedB" that seemed pretty good. Just trying to help here.
-
You didn't specify if we had to actually experience the park to recommend it.

I just noticed this forum, lol. Shows how much I pay attention to things, . Well, I'm Shawn Clisso from A little community near Princeton, West Virginia (southern WV). I'll be turning 17 in April. I have no friends that are interested in roller coasters and theme parks so after bothering them with things they didn't care about, I decided to find people interested in things that i'm interested in so i came here . I've only been to two amusement parks sadly , Dollywood and Carowinds, but I know so much more about other parks too. I'm really interested in The "Science" of an amusement park, for example, What determines a good and bad park? What little things can help attendance? What location would be the best for new parks?( apparently not Myrtle Beach, lol),ect. . I really like the business aspects of Theme parks too. And then there's the coasters obviously, haha.Well, that pretty much it. Oh Robb, I'm the guy that you had to send that Replacement DVD to, I did get it by the way, thanks. Was I supposed to mention that on here?lol

Please exlpain to me what Oktoberfest is?
-
Hmm I'm gonna have say Kings Island although i've never been there myself. It seems like it has the best coasters and thrill rides. Plus it's getting diamondback this year.
-
Hmm.. the Carolina Cobra trains look spacious, especially with the flexible plastic restraints.I don't think it would be such a tight fit.
-
Haha, I think its being tall with long legs, i have a similar problem with Arrow Standard Sit-down coasters. I usually have to step on the seat as a kind of "step" to get in and out of Tennessee Tornado, lol.
-
Ahh, another Batman clone, lol .My first B&M invert and steel coaster was Afterburn (Top Gun:The Jet Coaster). I've only been to Carowinds and Dollywood . I would really like to go to Six Flags Great Adventure. Now that you point it out, they do look like a sit down knockoff of a B&M flyer, haha.
-
Lol, glad to help you remember. Yeah the boomerang trains coming to Carowinds look pretty nice, i believe they have the flexible plastic-type restraints.Look at the website and click on the tab "new for 2009". What B&M Invert are you gonna ride?
-
Silver streak could be understandable for being tight as its a Family suspended coaster, the seats typically are a little smaller for the safety of children. I'm not claustrophobic so it shouldn't be a problem for me. I think i'll fit fine from what everyone else says, even a guy who worked it at Carowinds. It has good adjustable harnesses. I'm planning to lose a little weight before then anyway so I think i'll be fine fitting on the ride. I'm kinda excited, this will be my first Vekoma and Flying coaster. I'm also going to have other firsts that day too including my first standup coaster, boomerang(i've heard its bad, maybe the new trains will make up for it), first drop tower, inverted swinging ship, Mine train roller coaster(maybe), "real" mouse coaster and maybe my first time on a waterslide, lol.

I don't think, and correct me if I'm wrong, that nighthawk has a test seat. I'm pretty sure I can fit on a B&M, Arrow and Gerstlauer so I think I'll be able to fit. Aren't Arrows supposed to be tight? I was worried mainly about the lap bar , I know at Dollywood on Thunderhead that I could only click the lap bar down once, almost twice but I had to slump down in the seat so it would latch, I think it was just because of my long legs keeping the bar up. That's just what worried me but I think I wouldn't have much trouble with Nighthawk being a steel coaster and being made from Vekoma, not GCI. Although, I don't think I could fit on Top Thrill Dragster or Millennium force having lap bars, reading what Cedar Point had to say about people of "exceptional size" scares me now to go on an Intamin with lap bars.

I just researched The "Biggest" countries in the world from a trusted source. U.S. is high up on the List but lots of European countries are in the top 50. Greece,UK,Slovenia,Iceland,Germany,Andorra,Monaco, San Marino. I know that each percentage of the country is not accurate because of the population of the US but i would say all of them together would have to be close to the population of the US and also you have to count the other overweight people in other countries where its not as big of a problem. In Conclusion, The "standards" for how big seats are wouldn't matter, if S&S sent an El Loco to the United Kingdom, it doesn't necessarily mean it will be big on all Europeans. If we got a Vekoma , it doesn't mean that a lot of the people in America won't fit. It is true that all humans don't have the same body type but i would think companies would have one seat size for all coasters they make. There's not a pile of seats for americans, a pile for europeans and then another pile for countries in Asia. Yes B&M has "big boy" seats aside from the normal size seats but its probably merely B&M realizing that the world is slowly becoming overweight and such seats are needed for the Larger guests to have an enjoyable experience on their rides.(I hope all that made sense, lol. I don't even know if that had anything to do with what were saying but I felt smart doing it,haha ). What Vekoma manufactured Coasters have you ridden Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess?

Ooh, i would love to go on the UK trip, if i could get the money to go. I would be looking forward to Alton towers sooo much, haha. Mid-America seems fun too but like i said, it really just depends on what money i have then. Actually...you know what..i've been thinking about planning a senior trip for fifteen friends in 2010 so my money might be wrapped up in that. . Oh well, there's always 2011.
-
Hey Robb, do you have any idea of where you might plan trips to next year in 2010? I'm graduating in June of 2010 so I thought it would be awesome to have a summer of trips and fun before college including one of those trips with TPR. Thanks.
-
Alright, thanks everyone! I just always worry I'm gonna get up there, not fit and end up embarrassing myself or something. I feel a whole lot better about riding it now so thanks again .
-
I'm going to Carowinds in June and I haven never rode Nighthawk(formerly The Borg Assimilator), it would be my first flying coaster. I'm just scared that I'm not going to be able to fit on the ride not because of weight but because of my height as well. I'm 260 lbs. and 6 foot 3 inches, do you think i would be able to ride? And also, how do you put on the restraints , is it over the shoulder or is it a lap bar or what? Please no criticism because of weight, that would be highly appreciated. Thanks.[/b]

Near Dollywood in Pigeon Forge,TN is a Motel Called Americana Inn. My Family stays there every year when going to that area. Its on the cheap side but has a large pool, alright rooms with great air conditioning and even continental breakfast in the morning. Its located in a good spot too. you can walk to lots of food places ,stores and other attractions from there. Pretty Nice. Shawn Clisso

Hmm, that could be a really good explanation of the sound.I think you're right on the money.I reviewed the video and the sound resembles when your going up the lift. I actually found that Dive Coaster in china( not sure if all Dive Coasters do this) makes a loud clang after the drop possibly being the same thing. I always thought that the Anti rollback was spring loaded...guess not, lol. Thanks, it drove me nuts not knowing what it was, i'm a curious person i guess, haha.
-
You sure its the Anti-Rollbacks? You never see any of the jagged metal pieces on the track for the Anti rollback or do you mean the mechanism under the train moving from the force and making the sound?
