Legoland Florida Discussion Thread

Only Pepsi products are found in the SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment parks. -
I came across this article that was an interesting read. What caught my attention most is the part about the new teaser sign being a clue to the theme of the attraction. wwww.examiner.com/x-42676-Busch-Gardens-Examiner~y2010m6d18-New-attraction-at-Busch-Gardens-Tampa-wants-you-to-Feel-the-spirit-Feel-the-Speed-in-2011

This will be for the better. I have seen traffic backed up there because guests tend to head from where the octopus is to the large viewing glass for the rays avoiding the pathway around the leafy sea dragons tank all together. It gets pretty bad especially now with the large crowds and even with the curtain, guests been going through it. With a "door" there, it would force guests to move towards the left around the leafy sea dragons tank and thus improve traffic flow.

^ Yeah I seen that on the paper as well. Also according to this article by the Orlando Sentinel, Universal already officially opened HRRR. www.orlandosentinel.com/travel/attractions/orl-bk-universal-rockit-opening-081909,0,7930032.story On another topic, the reason why I think we hear a lot of cheering and yelling while guests are exiting the platform down the stairs is because they are being encouraged by the employees. After me and my friends rode it, as we walked down the stairs, all of the employees down there looked at us and started clapping and cheering trying to get us to. None of us actually did even though we all enjoyed the ride.

Well after watching this thing from the beginning as well, I too finally got my chance to ride Rockit today. The posted wait time was 120 minutes (2 hours) at around 3:30PM when me and six other friends went in. We ended up only waiting about 1 hour and 15 minutes before we got on. It would have been shorter but they pause the ride to switch out one of the train for another. First of all, this ride just like Manta exceeded my expectations. I had my doubts about this ride but I'm glad to report that I approve of this ride. This ride was great and the song I listened to was "Can't touch this" by MC Hammer. I ended up sitting on the left side on the last row of the first car. The lift was quick and down the drop was steep and fun. The non-inverting loop was a very unique experience and I enjoyed it. The drop into the firehouse was pretty steep and the double take was fun and had some good intensity. I also got a good pop of airtime at each brake run. The second half around CityWalk was slower but still fun. Overall I had a blast on it and the addition of music really adds to the ride. The moving walkway was still not running and I believe only three trains were running. At the end of the ride (while were still pulling into the station), an employee would ask if the audio was working on our seat. Out of the seven of us, two had audio that did not work (I believe both sat on the right side). As for the roughness, I can see where some people are coming from. This is not the smoothest coaster but I didn't think it was too unbearable. There were parts where it pop in my head that it was kind of shaky but nothing too serious. Overall, I had a great time on Rip, Ride, Rockit and I think it is an great addition to the park. I would give it a 9/10 and say it is a must ride.

It was no steady rain today. A large thunderstorm move through the attractions area today with heavy wind and rain. I live near the attractions area and luckily made it home from work today right before it started. I remember walking out of work when the storm was moving in and it was very windy. Heavy downpour and gusty once it started where I live. It feels strange how on Wednesday when I saw it for the first time in person I thought it looked great and one day later it got blown down.

I would have to agree that it is uncommon to not have them duel and one must have been very unlucky to never have duel every time one went. I have been on Dueling Dragons countless number of times and can only remember twice that it did not duel. Both times it was not a mechanical malfunction or anything of that sort, just trouble loading the guests and instead of having the other train wait too long, they just sent the other. They do this a lot and most of the time, the other train will catch up on the lift, just not these two times. The experience I would have say seem very plain when their not dueling. It really takes away from the experience with only one train going. However when both are going, it just seems so much more enjoyable to me.

Recently lines have been pretty huge starting right in the morning. Its not too uncommon to see the line all the way out towards strollers as early as 10AM in the morning. Weekdays been a little better but not by much. As for the wait, I haven't seen anything shorter than 70 minutes in a while during the day. The longest I have seen has been 120 minutes. However just to let everyone know, Manta seem to have technical difficulties at least once a day that closes the ride. Usually no more than an hour than it opens up again. All of this has been within the last two weeks. Basically Manta has been very popular with the general public.

B&M and 240 feet...
justint87 replied to itsasamccormick's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ I see what your saying but wasn't the launch system on the Hulk not designed by B&M because of the perceived reliability issue. I believed the launch system was subcontracted to another company. -
B&M and 240 feet...

I'm thinking more towards the money issue as some others has said. Isn't B&M like the BMW or Mercedes Benz of coasters. You pay a premium to have their coasters like you pay a premium to have those cars. Similar to what others have said about other coasters being larger and longer yet around the same price as a smaller B&M. Maybe no one is willing to pay that much for a large B&M coaster when they can get a larger one and longer one for roughly the same price from another coaster's company. Then again, other explanation on this board makes a lot of sense as well, could be a combination of them. -
Just like others said, you should at least try it once as it is an experience you won't forget especially if it is your first one. I only been on one and it was the 300 feet one in Old Town. I went on with a friend and the ride up to the top was terrifying however I will have to admit, the view was great. After they told us to pull the cord, we purposely just let ourselves sit up there to enjoy the view. After a little bit, I pulled the cord and off we went. It was terrifying right when I pulled the cord but going head first right at the beginning was amazing. It was thrilling and an amazing sensation. After the initial dive towards the ground, it was an very enjoyable experience just swinging back and forth. I say it was worth it and something I won't soon forget but for me to get on it again, well I'm not sure if I would do it again.

It probably wasn't a language issue because he lived in the US since he was 11. How it happen, I agree with the post above. He may have been near the edge when he tried to check the door when the momentum of the carriage may have carried him out over the edge where he then hung on. If anyone has been on the Skyride, you would notice that they do come out fast out of the station once they are release.
