  1. It should also be known that the new dark ride that will replace Nights in White Satin will be known as Monstars of Rock. The ride description is as follows: While I'm still on the fence about the park itself (I don't really understand adding CSI: Live to a music themed park), it does seem like they are getting their act together. That being said, I think it is still cutting things far too close to the opening to be releasing all of this information to such a limited audience. I really wonder what would have happened if they pushed back the opening even a month later, giving them a little less reason to rush... Also on the Discover Myrtle Beach website is this helpful link: http://www.discovermyrtlebeach.com/freestylemusicpark/hours.cfm Which finally reveals their planned hours of operation. Looks like they will only be open in the afternoon for the first two weeks excluding weekends. They also have the list of what you get when you buy an annual pass, which costs 65 dollars roughly. But hey, complimentary parking is always nice. As is 10% off merchandise and food and beverage excluding alcohol. Which I'm sure plenty of parents are gonna need if they take their kids to FMP. There's a reason Chuck E Cheese sells beer...
  2. I'm really excited about this ride getting refurbished and everything. It was always one of my favorites, and I'm sad I didn't ride it the last time I went before the change happened. For those who were wondering why it got changed from "Monster Plantation" to "Monster Mansion", I think it had something to do with SFOG's attempt to become more "politically correct". They changed the section of the park that used to be the "Confederate States" to "Peachtree Square", and since in the old south Plantations have the bad rap of being remembered as places where slaves worked in the 1800's, they wanted to get rid of that vibe and basically remove any potential bad feelings or anything of the like that could come with the word Plantation. Now, I may be totally off base with that statement or assessment, but it would make sense, especially with the name change of the Confederate section to "Peachtree Square". I believe I saw someone reasoning this on a SFOG fan site. And if I'm totally off base, then I will gladly take up residence in the "Stupid things the GP say" thread.
  3. What are you selling? I want a Hard Rock Park sweatshirt! I did a search of Hard Rock Park memorabilia on eBay, and, well, I'm sad to say that there is only a few items going for more that $9.99...BUT... you can get some great items for cheap!!! such as the book "THE PARK THAT ROCK BUILT: FIRST EDITION!!!" for only $9.99!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/Hard-Rock-Park-The-Park-That-Rock-Built-Book_W0QQitemZ170327912370QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item27a855afb2&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72:1205 Or how about this amazing NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN! THE TRIP! t-shirt for a whopping 5 BUCKS! Woooooo nelly, that'll put a dent in your wallet in this economy! http://cgi.ebay.com/A3074-HARD-ROCK-PARK-Myrtle-Beach-S-C-T-SHIRT-w-Tags_W0QQitemZ350199375989QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_CSA_MC_Shirts?hash=item5189826875&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72:1205 I guess my question is, if this merchandise is going for this cheap on eBay, does that mean that basically all the stores in the park will just be walk in and take what you want? Hey, then the park could report it all as an "Insurance Claim" and make a ton of money.
  4. I just found this on youtube, and while this guy probably broke every single park rule ever known to man, at least there's a semi decent full POV of the ride, IN HIGH DEFINITION!!!!!!
  5. I don't know if anyone saw this, but I saw it on the Discover Myrtle Beach FMP forum NEWS RELEASE FREESTYLE MUSIC PARK LAUNCHES NEW SOCIAL MEDIA NETWORKING PAGES Facebook and MySpace Pages Allow Park To Better Connect With Guests April 28, 2009, Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Freestyle Music Park today launched the Park’s social networking pages through Facebook and MySpace. Plans currently call for Freestyle Music Park to be the launching point for the Freestyle Park brand throughout the world, as FPI MBE plans to open additional attractions and entertainment venues in the coming years, under the Freestyle Park banner. The Myrtle Beach Park is the first to feature a music theme. For more information on Freestyle Music Park, call (843) 236-7625 or visit http://www.FreestyleMusicPark.com. If you go to the Facebook page, under comments, they're talking about how the park is gonna honor the 2008 annual passes, although I haven't found anything saying that anywhere. If that is true, then that's a very wise decision on their part to get people to come back and check out the park, and give them a chance to renew their interest so they will buy a pass for their future seasons if they have future seasons... EDIT: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=191495555432&topic=8013 there's the official announcement, via Facebook discussion board post, about the 2008 passes.
  6. For my first post, I saw this, and had to share with y'all my 2 favorites right now First, there's the Avett Brothers and then Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGVPMu5WXpU&feature=related Both are amazing. I have a lot more to pick from, but I've been listening to these two non stop for a couple of months now.
