TPR New Front Page In Development!
nrs2420 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I voted option 2 because I'm strongly against twitter. I'd be fine if it was filled with something else, but I'm tired of my favorite sites being taken over by twitter and facebook. -

I understand trolls being a problem. What about a donkey slide show? -

Well I'm all for option 2. First, I absolutely hate twitter. Second, it seems redundant, you already have links to your trip reviews on the front page why do you need a feed saying the same thing. Third, I hate twitter. Fourth, it ruins the look. Fifth, I hate twitter. Since most people like option 1 and it could work better with the picture, maybe we could put weekly polls there? -

It is not there, don't know why they took it out and changed the banking. I think they did it around the time they changed the trains. The old trains were way better looking imo -
The TPR Member Social Media Poll!

The only one I ever use is Youtube. I don't have any other accounts and have not heard of some of them. It's bothered me greatly seeing all my favorite sites switch to facebook and twitter to give updates. -

That's the way it use to be all the time. You could hear it squealing from the parking lot. Of course that was before they banked the corners more and took out the hill/double up. One of my better memories from the park so I don't mind it at all. -

There's no need for them. The train will just stay in the valley -

I never received a reply from them when I registered the first time. Did I have to re-register? -

I love the history of parks as much as the next person and I would completely understand the pictures if we were getting a coaster. So I guess I just don't care about our new splash twisty battle doohickey. Sure it would be great to have all the old rides but there would be expensive up keep and not many people would ride it when they can go ride more exciting things. You have to replace old with new otherwise the park will never move forward. If you left six flags like it was in 1971 no one would want to go to it. That's what memories are for. Would I like to go back and ride the Screamin Eagle before the removed the double up and banked the corners more? Ride the jet scream? Heck what about the other St. Louis parks like Forest Park Highlands and Chain of Rocks Park. Sure, I would love to be able to do those things, but I can't. I do get to hear awesome stories though from my parents and grandparents. I'm more of a car freak so I do understand your point. I cringe when someone cuts up a perfectly good 32 Ford to make a hot rod or modify a perfectly good muscle car. -

Are you crazy. Our park is quite nice. Sure were missing some signature rides, but our park is still nice. Just look at the Midwest trip that TPR took. SFSTL was their favorite Six Flags park. As far as the park being confusing. They give you a map when you drive up lol. I personally like the multiple path options because I try to take the path less traveled. Tom's Twister was fun but needed to go. Not sure why you want old rides back. Why not bring back the mule go round. As far as the hannibarrels leaving. It's about time. Almost 20 years after they closed. Hope the cats that use to live there found a new home. Not sure why everyone wants pics of it. They are going to tear the whole thing out. Nothing is salvageable from that thing. -

As far as I know there's nothing usable from the barrels. -

The seatbelt you want doesn't do anything different than what the restraint system is already designed to do. Those seat belts you show will not lock if the restraint does not close far enough. We've already established that NTAG has a system that doesn't allow the train to be dispatched if the angle is not met on the restraint. As for seat belts in general, I'm against them. There's no proof that having a seat belt would have stopped her from falling out. If she could have slid out of the current restraints then she could have slipped out of a seat belt that was designed for the current restraint max angle distance. It was a freak accident. I don't want to be strapped down beyond movement to go for a ride (that's a different fantasy ) Based on current speculation the most I would want to see done is locked angle changed.

You can tell on those photos that they aren't done painting Boomerang. They painted it in Texas before they brought it up here. Why would it not be done? -

I really happy I live in Missouri but I can only afford to go to a theme park once this year so I need to choose between our Missouri parks. Brand new (paint on a 20+ year old coaster that came from a different park and is the most copied head rattling coaster) for 2013: Boomerang! or Brand new for 2013: Outlaw Run, the double inversion wooden coaster with the steepest drop. Guess I have a lot of thinking to do. -

Extreme heat happens in St. Louis. Maybe its not as bad as Texas and Louisiana but it gets pretty bad here. Upper 90's with very high humidity sucks. In fact I consider those upper 90's and high humidity worse than our 100-110 days with low humidity from last summer. Mix in a blacktop theme park and it sucks.
