  1. Hey man, don't wing dip on my parade. I was enjoying the hell outta those pictures. Reading your comment literally produced the tuba notes often associated with failing and/or losing at the price is right. Bwah Bwah. Remember, thumper, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all! Now perhaps you should say sorry to Manta for the RCT3 reference. Awesome photos Robb! Going backstage with Manta is better than going backstage at a rock concert. I wonder how many people have thrown their bras at Manta? -Mike
  2. Ghostrider has perhaps the coolest layout of the CCI era (and woodies in general.) The "slow mid-course turn" is seldom seen, and it builds into the insane second half beautifully. I think it was the pacing that I loved so much about the ride, and of course, "the drop" (yep, one of the first Alvey videos had the views of the different people experiencing "the drop.") I think that "the drop" introduced me to ejector air. And God...that second half, so fast and unrelenting. Does anyone remember the helix BEFORE they modded it? So anyway, yeah, Ghostrider is worse than Mean Streak, or even Psyclone. It is painful and just downright upsetting. I have actually apologized to friends after riding it (scariest part of the haunt...that damn turn after the first drop. Freaking OWWW!!!) -Mike
  3. Almost poetic. The power of words...and...run-on sentences. Make friends with periods and commas. It is amazing what those tiny little dots do for eligibility. And lighting a fire under GCI is pointless. They treat their wood. It's fireproof, bro. -Mike
  4. ^ Yeah, it's not like they are professionals or anything! The ride could probably open in March if they wanted to. 60% of the ride is already built - they just need to put it together. I doubt rides ever "suck" because they are rushed. They usually suck months before hand while they are still on paper. In short, Terminator will be fine, and awesome, and probably open right on time. But there could always be Extreme Makeover: Theme Park Edition, where a meth induced Ty Pennington acts like a cartoon character while they build the ride in a single weekend. He could even tell Mr. Six to "move that bus." Sorry. -Mike
  5. Airtime that hurts is usually blamed on the restraints. Like Magnum. I feel like rolling a towel around the lap bar. As far as floater air being fun, to me, Goliath/Titan provide the funnest "drawn out" floater air. I wish more companies (B&M included) would use the high-speed/low height/non-steep hill that makes you float for what feels like a long time. I love that hill on Goliath. Some of the B&M hypers sort of tease you with these big beautiful hills - and if the train was only allowed to go a little faster over them, they would probably provide some amazingly fun airtime (not that they aren't fun already.) -Mike
  6. I wouldn't ditch one for the other, but I agree that "Coastertube" more properly defines what it actually is (which is a dedicated niche topic with videos in the style of YouTube.) The mass amount of people, especially "non-geeks" that may wanna try to find a POV of the coaster they just went on, would probably be immediately drawn to something that literally defines itself as "youtube but with coasters instead." I can think off hand of several other "tube" sites that feature niche topics. Good for you for snagging the one related to coasters, and I think for that reason alone you should "market" it under Coastertube. Easy to say, easy to remember, and it defines itself in the title. Given the pretty wide range of the videos you guys produce, having a collection of videos dedicated to the more personal, fun and wacky antics could be labeled as "TPR TV" which feels a little more community based. Someone already mentioned a Podcast as well, and I think that is a GREAT idea. Like any certified coaster nerd, I usually (to my social demise) really enjoy talking about roller coasters and hearing others talk about coasters, especially ones I haven't been on. Having a "radio style" Podcast where you guys review coasters and parks, discuss future trips, have people call in for trip planning advice, and even interview industry folk (like the guys from GCI) would be AWESOME. I would download the hell outta those. Just like Leo Laporte does with tech gadgets, you guys could do it with the amusement park industry and (I think) have quite the following. -Mike
  7. I think putting a museum in ANY amusement park is almost a no-brainer, especially when most parks have a super rich history that most park fans find interesting. I love that stuff, and have always been a "special features DVD" kind of guy. When so much concept art is created for rides and park sections, it is almost insane to not have a place to show it off. And honestly, what can't go into a museum? Whether it be a wheel from freefall or Dell Holland's shrunken head, it all is interesting in the end. I think this picture is inside the guest relations building (the one INSIDE the park towards the lockers, not the one by flashback.) -Mike
