VR Goggles get sanitized between uses, and 3D glasses on dark rides go through sanitation machines. Often times you will notice 3D glasses that are still wet, that's left over from the cleaning process. Most of the parks that I have been to that have the VR goggles, you can observe a park employee on the side of the station some where that is sanitizing the headsets. Most of the time the dark rides with the 3D glasses have a cleaning room that is "behind the scenes" so you never actually see them cleaning. I don't think operations is really affected by the cleaning process. Most parks have more than enough headsets, and 3D glasses that can be in use while others are being cleaned. (Hope this helps a little) Very helpful! Thank you!

Do parks wash or wipe down VR goggles between uses? What about 3D Glasses on dark rides? Do these all just get re-used by the next guest without a cleaning? Are practices different across parks? I know I've gotten 3D glasses with smudges on them, and I've never actually observed any kind of sanitary practices on eyewear by parks, but I haven't really been paying attention. Since the VR Goggles already crimp capacity (at least to some extent, I guess), are things further slowed by cleaning the things? Just curious and would love to hear from people who have experience or have observed park practices more carefully than I have. I have no clue. Thanks! Nice report.

This one is going to sound ridiculous, but it's more of a shout out for "improved relative smoothness". I've been riding the Cyclone at Coney Island in Brooklyn for a long time, and it's been a bone crusher for much of that time. But it's been recently retracked over a number of seasons, and I have to say that I was shocked at how smooth it was when we visited in August. I even said to myself, "smooth as butter", but of course it was relative to the other rides I've had on it. So check it out. It's actually fun, not bracing yourself for an anticipated backbreaking injury.

Tough question! We had great days at so many great parks. Here in the U.S., we had wonderful days at Carowinds, Knoebel's, DCA/Disneyland, BGW, and SFFTx was great for Halloween. In China, we were blown away by the high quality of Sun Tribe (see my report here and Oriental Heritage (Huaiyin, Jinan). I haven't done that report yet. We also had a nice surprise in Europe with Nigloland, which we'd never been to before but which gave us a perfect autumn day that ended too early. Thanks to everyone for the comments! How do we travel so much? I'm a teacher so I have most Fridays off, a winter break, spring break, and summer. Cheryl works shifts and schedules her off time around mine. That's about it.
