  1. What the hell...? I`m the Disneyland railroad (maybe the only thing I don`t like to ride while at disneyland). But okay, I`ve to handle with this.... Andy The Disneyland Railroad: A real steam powered train, like the old mighty Santa Fe, on a picturesk route like no other! You take people from the turn of the century to Frontier-era New Orleans, to the bonifide hometown of Mickey Mouse, and into then into the world of the Future, passing through the Grand Canyon, Jungles, Forrests, Fantasyland, and the ancient world of the Dinosaurs along the way. Always on time, you are steady, reliable, orderly, and a practical form of transportation for your passengers in the park. You greet visitors as they enter and say goodbye to them as they leave tonight. You have an eye for old world detail and craftsmenship, even as you represent the industrial age and the spirit of American ingenuity. An old icon of progress, you may not be the fastest ride or as sleek as your Monorail cousin, but you can rest assured that you are just the kind of magical experience that Walt Disney himself liked best.
  2. the Matterhorn cars are really pretty small - but hey this guy is 6.3 feet and a small car is more thrilling than a big one. By the way Europa-Park has 4 water rides: the Atlantica Super-Splash the Poseidon Watercoaster the Fjord Rafting Rapids and the Tiroler Wildwasserbahn (log flume) A lot of water rides compared with some regions with much more sunshine and sunny days. But at least it is the spot with the most sun in germany. And Yes, we love our girls...
  3. This Year We made our Annual Trip to the Europa-Park to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Europa-Park. We arrived late friday evening had some pizza and some drinks to get to bed late. We woke up on saturday, had some breakfast and off course big pleasure to join the first midnight opening in the park history. We arrived at 09am to get the first rides without the big crowds. Our crew, we were 14 people did a brilliant job staying together over the whole day. And it was an excellent day - Pretty hot 92 degrees, nearly 40.000 people (twice the crowd as on normal high season days!) and what a surprise: normal wating times (about 30 to 60 minutes which is brilliant for Europa in the summer). Did our Lunch in the greece restaurant and Diner in the Scandinavian Fjord Restaurant. Writing about the great Europa-Park and the great day I`ve to come to the one sad thing on this day: The big birthday party show at 11pm. It should be the main part of the day but it became the big dissapointment. The place were they build the stage was the place infront of the Atlantica Super-Splash, and it was to small to handle the crowds. The show surprised with intelligent art performance, boring and deplaced. The sadest thing was the big fireworkshow. Not more than 40% of the firework was burnt, and didn`t work with the music and the firework they were able to burn was so lame because of exploding some 10 meters overground in a big smoke cloud. This whole firework wasn`t produced by the Europa-Park so it`s not there fault. The fireworkers did such a bad job, maybe the didn`t estimate that this firework was to close to the Supersplash (water humanity and fireworks = big smoke). Overall also the owners, the Mack family seemed to be very dissapointed. After spending 15 hours in a row in the Europa-Park we decided to go the Colloseo Hotel Bar (Mille Miglia) to have some After Midnight Drinks. What a brilliant way to end such a day. After 2am we went back to our rooms in Rust. The ones of us who travelled home sunday morning went for another drink to another hotel. On sunday 6 of our group went another time to the park. That was such a good decision, because the park seemed to the be very calm (for high season of course). No waiting more than 20 minutes. Maybe a lot of people were tired from the day before or maybe it was too hot (about 95 degrees in the shadow, that`s hot hot hot for us germans, it felt a little bit like the Magic Mountain temps in summer). This weekend was such a wonderful trip, lot of great people and of course one of the best parks in the world made it magical. Some more new photos in the next days on coasterfriends.com Andy The Euro-Sat was changed a little bit... Swiss part of Europa the greece part with the Poseidon Euro Mir, Mack`s unique ride Our group on that day... the backside of our girls Alex & Belli after arriving with the Matterhorn Blitz the new Atlantica Super-Splash Birthday Cake Having Fun Everyone...
  4. sorry to say that I was really impressed with X - SFMM But waiting in line for this ride was not the hit!
  5. After deciding to go to Japan 2006, we`ve planned with the "Alvey`s Guide to Japan" and somemore infos found in the world wide web, but I still need some more answers for planning. Maybe some of you guys can help me out: For planning our budget it would be useful that we get to know the entrance fees for the parks, do you`ve some infos about it? Or where we can find it (most themepark sites are just in japanese - and that`s not easy). Was it easy to get reservations for trains (JR Trains and Shinkansen) or was it easy to grap seats without reservations? For the Alveys: Why you guys didn`t choose the Nasu Highland Resort, isn`t it looking interesting? Overall, is it hard to find cheap food to eat, except McD ? As we want to see some more cultural stuff too, who can give us a good advise for travel books? Thanks a lot for your informations. Andy
  6. Hi Elissa and other themepark-wedding-couples, we tried to involve the "whole" park into our wedding: In the morning we did a meeting with all our guests (about 70 people) in the Castillo Alcazar Hotel, went with one of the trains to the Norwegian Church and did our ceremony there. After that our guests were driven to the german castle (it`s even smaller than the disneyland one ), and we had a ride with the carriage( I hope that`s the word I`m looking for) through the park. In the evening we used the french restaurant, for our evening party until 2 am in the morning (the park closed at 8pm, so we had the french quarter for us!). If anyone wants to see some pictures I can try to set up some into this forum. Andy "who`s the last person getting married in the Europa-Park with a real priest but without beeing catholic"
  7. One Vote for good old germany. I`m from Munich - so there`s no real themepark near my home. Guess, it should be Legoland, Germany (45 min away) or the Skyline Park (40 min) but there are only two real choices: Octoberfest Munich, about 400 visits in my life (damm close) And more important: the beautiful EUROPA-PARK, my real Homepark, where I got married in 2002 (about 3 hrs away). Andy
  8. Hi, to all you coaster freaks out there. This site has grown so damm fast. After following the forum in the last months I decided to join your discussions. To introduce myself: My Name is Andy, born in Munich Germany; Love to travel a lot (not only themeparks); got my first coaster credits in the early days as a kid on the annual Oktoberfest, biggest fair in the world. Andy
